I was very impressed with Dr.Williams....he was the third surgeon I had seen.He answered all my questions before I had the chance to ask them.
Well...I have only seen Dr.Williams once...since then I have been going to meetings and meeting with the nutritionists
very informative and friendly
I felt immediate trust.
He takes the time to answer all your questions.
Actually I only have my second appointment with him in 2 weeks....so aftercare is still a question for me.
I am not sure .... but he is very thorough so i am sure he does.
He went through each one and explained how he
eleviates the risks.
My primary says he is the best in the Phila.area and i feel the same way
so far so good
surgical competence
haven't seen him yet, waiting for appointment.
I found him to be kind and caring and he had a sense of humor.
You don't get to spend much time with him but I knew I could if I had questions to ask him. I think maybe I would like to see him again before the surgery but I dont think you get to do that. He comes highly recommended so I am ok with that.
The office was swamped when I was there for my first visit. I don't know how those women handle everyone. They were very kind and helpful.
Hi assistant Susan is wonderful. You can call her anytime and she will answer all your questions. I faxed over my disability and FMLA paperwork for the Dr. to fill out for my work. I figured I would get them back in a week or so. Well the next morning when I got to work they were sitting in my fax machine all filled out.
Excellent!!!!
I had a consulation with Dr. Wernsing 1/8/2003. The consultation was a fact sharing section that left me with neither an overly impressive nor unimpressive opinion of the doctor.
I have not been too happy since the consultation though. It took me over 5 months to get the consult and 3 weeks post consult, I still had not heard anything regarding the authorization or anything else needed pre-op. I spoke with Jody at the office who let me know that Trish was handling my case and that she would be giving me a call. I got the impression that my case had not previously been assigned and if I had not called, I would end up in file heaven. A few days later, after no call from Trish, I called back. I was basically given the brush off and told that if she had any news to relay, she would call. I wasn't even allowed to speak to anyone to get the details on my case.
I just called today and asked for Trish and was told that she would call me back, she was waiting on a return call from my insurance company.
All the stories I've read have indicated that the potential patient heard from their insurance company within a week or two - good or bad. It has been a month since my consult. I have a call in with my insurance company to hear what they have to say.
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH DR. SCHURICHT. I FELT LIKE HE GAVE ME ALL OF HIS ATTENTION AT THE INITIAL CONSULTATION. THERE WERE 4 OF US THERE AND HE DIDN'T MIND ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS I HAD. HIS STAFF IS REALLY HELPFUL ESPECIALLY GIL.
DR SCHURICHT ADDRESSED EVERY ISSUE CONCERNING THIS SURGERY. HE WENT INTO DETAIL ABOUT BOTH THE PROS AND CONS OF THE SURGERY. I AM CONFIDENT THAT HE WILL BE JUST AS ATTENTIVE AFTER THE SURGERY AS HE HAS BEEN THUS FAR.
:) As a nurse I am acutely aware of the way things are done. Allen Schuricht was recommended from a friend of mine, whose brother in law did have complications from the surgery. However, after speaking to him, he said that even with the complications, he would have still had the surgery (even with all the complications) and Dr. Schruricht would still be the one and only surgeon to do it. I went to his group seminar on the surgery and was impressed immediately. He was friendly, up front, and no nonsense. He did not try to sell the surgery and was very keen on discouraging anyone in the room from doing it if they were not sure. His talk was strictly educational and he was willing to take questions at any time. Afterward, we met with him one on one. He was very straightforward. He told me that I could probably be done laproscopically, but he always reserved the right to switch to an open procedure if necessary. On the day of the surgery, he came right to the OR holding area to chat and make me comfortable. Post op he checked in with me frequently to see how I was doing. He was glad I was walking the halls the next morning. After 3 days post op he and his interns and residents approached me with the option of discharge. He made that my decision. His office staff gave me a post op appointment in just 3 days (to get the drain removed and to see how I was doing). Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are astronomical. He doesn't just pretend to care, he really does. Thanks Dr. Schuricht...you made a scared patient comfortable and less afraid.
My first impression and the one I have to this day is that he is a very professional and competent surgeion. I have just returned home from the surgery I had on 1/27/03 and am feeling so much better to be home. I was in the hospital from Monday till Thursday. I thought that the nurses that took care of me were wonderful, the service in the hospital, however - really sucked. There was one one there to help you get up and cleaned up in the morning and you could just lay there and rot. That is why I am so glad to be home, it is a much easier recovery at home with very little help than being in the hospital. (HUP) Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.
I met Dr. Willims in December. I liked him very much. He made me feel very comfortable with my decision to have WLS. He explained everything that he did not prevent complications and what I should expect. His office staff is very kind and helpful. I can not say on thing that I liked least about him. I felt very comfortable putting my care in his most capable hands. Patients should know that he is a competant Doctor and very caring.
