My surgeon, Dr. Jones, is not only a knowlegeable and excellent WLS surgeon, but he is also a very caring individual. From my very first meeting with him, my impression of him has not changed. I look forward to his continued aftercare. His surgical competence and bedside manner is of worthy notice. He will take the time to explain anything you do not understand. He is never in a hurry and will give you as much time as you need. To some, this may be annoying as it sometimes means longer waiting at appointments; but I think that in our fast-paced society, time is a service that is too oftened ignored. His staff is very thorough, friendly and helpful. They explain every thing they are going to do before doing it as well as carefully making sure you understand the entire process of this surgery - both good and risky. He is very upfront about any risks and he utilizes every precaution to minimize the risks. He is highly respected by those around him - wherever I went someone or someone close to them had him as their Dr. and they would say, "Oh he is so good." and then they always had only good things to say about him. By the time the day came for my surgery, I felt so confident in him. His aftercare is very structured; almost monthly visits with blood tests every 3 months for the first year. There was nothing I could like least about him - I would get him again and again. Overall, on a scale of 1 - 10, I would give him a 10.
He has had alot of experience preforming weight loss surgery. I found him to be very down to earth. He was happy to answer any of my questions. I feel extreamly confident about having him do my lap-band surgery next week.
The program at Park Nicolett Clinic (Meadowbrook) in St Louis Park, Mn. is very through. You go thru alot of meetings with professionals. Nurse, dietician, psychologist, physical therpist, Medical Dr,
and Surgeon.
I would rate their bariatric program excellent.

MY IMPRESSION OF DR. JONES WELL HE WAS VERY HELPFUL IN MY DECIDING TO HAVE BOTH SURGERIES THAT HE PERFORM FOR ME AND I WAS VERY GRATEFUL AND SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS.I'M STILL IMPRESSED WITH HIM HE'S A VERY GOOD SURGEON.THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND SUPPORTIVE ALSO THEY MADE SURE I WAS TAKEN GREAT CARE OF.THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT HIM.THAT HE EXPLAINS EVERY STEP OF THE PROCEDURE AND MAKES SURE YOU UNDERSTAND FULLY.TO IT GREATEST EXTEND HE EXPLAINS YOU MUST FOLLOW EACH STEP OF RECOVERY TO THE LETTER.YES HE DOES.I WAS TOLD OF EVERY RISK EVEN THAT I CAN LOSE MY LIFE IF COMPLICATIONS ARISES.DR. JONES IS A EXCELLENT AND COMPETENT SURGEON. BOTH ARE BETTER AND HE HAS IT.
Dr. Jones has been very informative and made sure I knew all the risks before proceeding. My first impression and my continued impression is that he is a wonderfuly, caring physician and I would definitely recommend him. His staff is very helpful and have been very supportive. Park Nicollet Clinic has a good aftercare program and I will continue to check in with them for the rest of my life to help keep me on track. On a scale of 1-10 I would say that Park Nicollet and Dr. Jones and his staff are definitely a 10. His bedside manner and surgical competence are both great.
I was very excited to finally meet Dr. Svendsen. He was everything that I had hoped for in a surgeon. He was very easy to talk with as well as being attentive to my health needs. I had heard good things about him from his nurse Barbara, who had already had the WLS. Barba is funny and serious. I would rather stay on her good side.
Dr. Svendsen answered all of my questions and encouraged me to ask more questions.
I like hoe the WLS program is set up at PNC which is the reason that I chose to go there. Aftercare will be important in my being able to maintain my weight loss. I know that I will get out of it, what I put into it.
Dr. Svendsen was very honest about the risk and I told him that I was going to be a very good patient. I know that I will be in good hands.
He was very professional & made sure I was prepared with the facts- good & bad & did an excellent job!
Dr. Jones came with high praise from everyone I talked to. I was very impressed by him. He took alot of time to answer my questions and didn't seemed rushed at all. Very personable and I feel so much better now, after having met him. I feel lucky to have him as a surgeon. Covered everything in detail and was very honest and sincere.
I felt comfortable with Dr. Jones right away, he is a very personable man and made me feel at ease. All of the office staff are awesome with some of the best nurses around.
Aftercare is stressed from the first informational meeting as it is one of the most useful tools to being successful.
First impression- kind, quiet- informative. Liked him.
Office staff is great- his RN is just super- you can call her ANYTIME!
The Bariatric Program through Park Nicollet is a great program before surgery and aftercare.
