My first impression of Dr Ludwig was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. rnrnOvertihe last few months Dr Ludwig has proven he REALLY cares about his patients. rnrnAftercare is extremely important to the doctor and his staff. Without this, it would be much harder to understand and deal with all the changes occuring to me. The Enloe successful solutions program is so helpful.rnrnI have only good things to say about my experience so far. I appreciate all the knowledge, time, and efforts the entire staff puts in to help obese people regain their physical health.

Dr Ludwig seemed quite genuine when I first met him. He really wanted to help. The first time I arrived at his office I was greeted by some of the nicest staff members that I have encountered. Dr. Ludwig is quite thourough about the procedures that will be done. He goes over every time of operation and what to expect and the possible risks that can be expected. I was quite nervous the day of my surgery, but I was greeted by Dr. Ludwig and also a nurse that works in his office and at the hospital. They talked to me about any last minute questions or fears. After the surgery they were the first people I woke up to. The hospital stay went quite well. I personally had a few minor complications, but Dr. Ludwig was right there to help out in any way. I also know of about 20-25 other people in my company that have had the surgery done by Dr. Ludwig, and have yet to hear of one bad thing about him. If anyone in the Chico area is looking for a good doctor to perform this procedure, look no further!!!

From the very first phone call to Dr. Ludwigs office I felt very comfortable with his staff. The staff was just as kind and concerned and willing to give me any and all information as Dr. Ludwig was. I never felt scared or concerned at anytime. He did explain the risks of the surgery and was always willing to answer any of my questions at any time. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are the best I have experienced. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I wanted to thank Dr. Ludwig and his staff for making the whole process so easier that it would have been if it wasn't for how caring and professional they all are. The process for getting the insurance authorization was easier and faster than I have ever experiencied. From day one they give you all the information that you will need. They leave little to question and are right there should you have one. The experience for me in the hospital was as smooth as one could ask for. Thank you again Dr. Ludwig and staff for this wonderful program that you have and for making me be able to start a brand new, more fulfilling and longer life.

Dr Ludwig and every member of his practice are very nice, careing and non judgemental. You get all the info you need to make your decision. I was not even nervous about my surgery because I had such confidence in his ability as a surgeon. He showed up to check on me each day at the hospital and a person could not find a better Dr anywhere.rnThe entire staff are there to help answer questions, get approval and provide further support. This office is unlike any Dr's office I have ever been to-they are the BOMB!rnI HIGHLY recommend Dr Ludwig to anyone who is considering WLS.

Just wanted to post an update. I posted back in September 2006 before surgery. I could not be any happier than I am today. Dr. Ludwig and his staff are amazing. They are thorough, compassionate, and very knowledgable. I love the fact that they take an active interest in their patients on going success with their involvement in a local support group. I love how excited they get when they see you again and see your progress. rnI especially loved it when they said they would not have known who I was if they had not looked at my before picture. I would recommend anyone I know who is looking for a weight loss surgeon to contact Deron Ludwig. They would not be disappointed. He is truly a great surgeon and man. He and Kathy have changed my life for the best. Bless you Dr. Ludwig and Kathy. You are angels.

I felt very comfortable from the very first time i met my Dr,I still feel that way his staff is the absoulute best. Dr Ludwig & his staff are always there to help you no matter what it may be, no matter how many times you call :-) to ask questions. They have great & infomative pre surgery & post op educational classes. All surgical risks were addressed by the Dr right up until surgery. I would definetly recommend Dr Ludwig to anyone concidering gastric bypass surgery. Both rnhis surgical competence & bedside manner are excellent.

First saw Dr. Ludwing via his website. Impressed on his experience. Met him for the first time during a group consultation/informational meeting 12/6/06. Very professional and made me feel 'important' and perhaps even significant. Although he addressed a whole group of people he was very sensative to all of our needs. Office staff very nice and again, they didn't make me feel 'bad' about being there. He stressed the aftercare and has written information on everything he spoke of. He didn't scare us about the risks but was very upfront with the possible risks. Thus far in my experience I would rate Dr. Deron Ludwig as top of the heap. Both the surgical competence and bedside manner are of great importance to me. If I had to choose just one the surgical competence would be the priority. Don't smile at me BUT be a competent surgeaon.

I was introduced to Dr. Ludwig through my wife. She has seen him as follow-up as her original surgeon is retiring. I became interested in a surgical approach to weight loss after attending support meetings with my wife. I was guided through a number of tests and personal learning experiences by his knowledgable staff. Other approaches to weight loss/control were suggested and encouraged. His aftercare program is working well for me. I had special conditions involved in my case and the follow up to it. I had my surgery on Jan. 19, and am doing well with my weight loss, and other health conditions. The risks were well emphasized by Dr. Ludwig and his staff. I feel I got no surprises. In all aspects of my experience with Dr. Ludwig, his staff and hospital care after surgery; I would say I am very satisfied. Pain control, health questions, and support were all handled with a personable, compassionate and non judgemental professionalism.

Dr. Ludwig heads a complete program designed for the success of the bariatric patient. With his RN Kathy, a tireless individual, who seems to work 24/7, nutritionist Mary, RN Dana and a host of support personnel, they have crafted a program that takes the patient from first meeting, through surgery, and on to post-op success. I was fortunate that my wife had the surgery first. I wasn't going to have it, but after attending a pre-op meeting with my wife, I was so impressed with the way the whole program was designed, I asked my primary physician for a referral. They are not there to \"sell\" weight-loss surgery, and they don't treat patients like dummies or little kids, The entire process is explained and the risks and benefits are laid out for each patient to weigh and consider. The surgery itself is done laproscopically, and the hospital staff are beyond excellent. Dr. Ludwig visits his patients regularly in the hospital, as do Kathy and Dana. Dr. Ludwig is not only a competent and skilled surgeon, he genuinely cares about the long-term success of his patients.
