I have not had surgery yet, but I was very impressed with Dr. Bellanger's gentle, caring manner. He was very thorough in the seminar/consult and answered all of my questions.

I remember when I first saw Dr.Bellanger he looked confident, and answered all my questions. Made me feel comfortable. His office staff and the staff at Vista Hospital were very nice, friendly and were there for me in a timely manner. His bedside manner was awesome. He had time to stand next to my bed and talk to me to find out how I was doing and if I need anything. I can not say anything bad about him, everything was positive.rnSusan C

I had my surgery on Valentine's day 2007. Dr. Bellanger and his staff are wonderful. I traveled from Atlanta, GA to have surgery and Sue, his office mgr was helpful each step of the way. Dr. Bellanger has a wonderful bedside manner, is extremely knowledgable in the area of bariatrics and answered any questions we had. I felt very confident in my choice of surgeon and must say my recovery went SO MUCH better than I could have expected. The Vista Surgery Center was incredible and my care could not have been better. MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS HE SEEM NICE, AND I WAS RIGHT HE WAS ALSO VERY CONCERNED HE MADE ME FEEL VERY GOOD ABOUT MYSELF. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME AND MY HUSBAND. HE TOLD ME THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT WLS AND THE BAD SO FOR THAT I LOVE THE MAN.RIGHT BEFORE MY SURGERY I HAD TO GO BACK TO SEE ONE MORE DR. BECAUSE I TOLD HIM THAT I SMOKED AND I UNDERSTAND THAT HE REALLY CARES FOR HIS PEOPLE. SO FO RANYONE WHO'S DECIDING TO MAKE HIM THERE DR. IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IT WOULD BE WITH HIM HE'S A WONDERFUL DR. GOD BLESS THAT MAN

Dr Drake Bellanger is doing my Lap Band surgery on June 7 at 730am at Vista Surgical Center. So far I would say he has been very thorough in his explanation of the process. But what impressed me most was his questions of me: Tell me what you understand about this surgery? Why do you want to have this surgery? What research have you done? It was an indicator to me that he's not in it for the cash. He seemed to really be weighing my answers. rnrnThe staff in his office have been WONDERFUL. I will write more after surgery as well.

Quiet, mild mannered. Willing to spend all the time I wanted answering questions with me and my husband. Office staff wonderful and nice, very helpful. I didn't like that he wouldn't answer questions about nutrition directly, but rather wanted me to speak to his nutritionist at the surgical center instead. It was hard to wait for that appointment.

He has a support group that meets every Wednesday night, and stresses the importance of these meetings.

So far I have attened a simenar that he insist all new patient to attend.He went over the procedures he does.He gave the pros and cons of each sugery.The simenar was very very informative.He has done bariatric surgery exclusively for 3 yrs.I feel better knowing he takes this field of sugery very seriously.I will have my first one on one 4/19/05.He has alredy mentioned the importance of after care and support groups.SO far I have felt very comfortable with him.He also did not downplay the risk of sugery.He was also recommened by a friend.She has stated that she had a very positive experience overall.Will let you know more soon.

Dr. Bellanger took his time explaining to my husband and I what would happen and when. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and professionalism he showed in his work. Even though there were several people at my office that have used him for this surgery, he still took his time explaining everything so that I knew what was going to take place. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a docter for this type of surgery. He has made myself and my entire family very comfortable with this decission I have made and am looking forward to the outcome and success of my surgery.

Dr. Bellanger has worked extensively with my sister-in-law who is a surgury nurse. He also was the surgeon who diagnosed and removed my appendix.

First impression and current impression is outstanding. The staff at NeWeigh is incredible. I found nothing to dislike about any of the experience.

Dr. Bellanger is part of a network of people who prepared me for surgury. The hospital specializes in this surgury and the entire staff is top notch.

The aftercare program is "administered" by NeWeigh and Vista Surgical Hospital.

He explained the risk. I had no complications.

There is nothing negative to be said, except that he isn't necessisarily the most talkative of people. But he gets to the point.

Dr. Bellanger is a wonderful, thorough Dr that will REALLY listen and cares about the well being of his patients. Dr. Bellanger had preformed another surgery on me previously so I was very much at ease with him. His office staff have always been SUPER helpful to me. Anything I need from them, they are on top of it. I would recommend him to ANYONE who told me they were thinking of doing this proecedure.
