My comment is not for the surgeon but more towards the coordinators. This process is difficult, and stressful. They were not only occasionally rude but they misguided me during this process. My experience was so bad that I ended up changing surgeons cause they refused to schedule my follow up appointment with him. Customer service is huge and they lack it. They made it harder on me than it had to be like this was a free service....extremely disappointing

Gio is a gem! He is non-judgmental, always positive, always helpful, always pro-active!! I can't say enough positive things about him. Your aftercare is in the BEST of hands if you are dealing with Gio. Your during-care is in the best of hands too for that matter. Love him!!!

So I visied Dr. Silva today 07/08/2010. The expierence was great. The lady at the front desk was very nice, the place itself was beautiful (private house but converted into a medical facility) very professional!!! My appointment was 245 but i saw the doctor around 4pm...there was alot of people waiting and told me how great Dr. silva was and told me i was in great hands! I first got weighed in and then Dr. Silva gave me his consultation. Although i wanted to have a certain procedure done he advised me that with me being obese all my life i should try the VSG. Not only would i have to switch insurance to cover it but this insurance would pay for any future plastic surgery...after giving it thought i decided i was going to do the VSG "Sleeve" and not Lapband. He advises you based on you and what would work best in the long run for you. He was very charismatic. I look foward to meeting him again after I get all my required tests (psych,blood,heart,abdonial) done! He truly is great and i recommend him to anyone!

My first impression of Dr. Sliva was good.rnI had a close friend and few folks I know that have had either VSG or Bypass performedrnby him. So, he came highly recommended andrnthe compliments were great!rnrnMy impression of Dr. Silva never changed. I just which he would have come to visit me in rnthe hospital. Yet, his partners came and were very attentive and concerned. They arerna great team of qualified and professional dr's. rnrnThe office staff was good. In the end they handled all my paperwork professionally. rnrnDr. Silva is one of the most caring Dr's besides my PCP who just makes you feel comfortable and he gets the job done!rnrnWell, I'm going to my first two week soon.rnHe supplied great information, but I will bernable to expound more on aftercare in the future.rnrnThe only structured aftercare I know of is the occasional checkup with surgeron. I have a wonderful PCP who has called me and spentrna significant amount of time checking up on me. So, as long as I get Dr. Silva's scheduled checkup appts. I should have any problems.rnrnNow, I was very well informed when I went in the office and was so eager to get things started. I don't know if he had to spend a lot of time with the risksrnof surgery. I was so eager to get sleeved! I did that on my surgery date, upon getting ready to sign some consents forms, I was startled by a least one question. Again, I was very well informed and over zealous. So, maybe certain things that were told to me briefly , I didn't really comprehend everything. It happens to the best!rnrnOverall, I would recommend Dr.Silva to anyone wanting to have this surgery. Hisrnsurgical competence was excellent, rememberrnI studied him out tooth and nail. Like I said, he has a marvelous team that are readily there to care for yournmatter what. He made a wonderful first impression. He was very informative and direct. His staff were very professional and polite. Overall I had a positive experience and highly recommend his services.

He was a great doctor made me feel very comfortable answered all my questions talked about before and after treatmenst as well as risks involved and explained in great detai. My surgery was back in 2000 I have gained 25 pounds after the birth of my son so I might be looking into a revision .rnI was 315 and went to 165 pounds.rnI am now 190lbs.rnHis staff was fantastic they have a great support program but the traveling with a big commute for me.

I found Dr. Marc Besser to be very professional and knowledgeable. He seemed to warm-up and became more personable with each meeting. On the morning of the surgery he was smiling and patting my shoulder. Dr. Besser can be extremely busy, as the head of obesity surgery at a major NY hospital. He does have a great staff that follows up on all phone calls and takes time to answer all your questions. I would recommend him to others.

MY first impression of him, was very good. He explain just what I need to know, and he explain the surgrey. His staff was great, they help me get all my appointment for the other doctors. He office was new, the fireplace was great. I need to walk around with a sign that tells everyone just how good he is. I would rate him a 100, he explain after care, and if I had any other questions, just to call him at his office. Dr Silver had both surgical competence and great bedside manner.

I think is not a right word to describe Dr. Silva. He is the most caring Doctor I ever have he does care about his patients. The follow up after the surgery is really good. The personel in his office is also very caring and as soon as you get to see the doctor your feel like home becuase of the love and the caring that they have for the patients. That is my experience I am extreamely greatful to Dr. Silva and I will recommend the Doctor to anyone.

Dr. Miguel Silva is so welcoming and makes you feel \"normal\". He answers every question in a personal manner, un-generic, and seems to have an infinite amount of time for his patients. You never feel rushed when you're in his office, and the number of awards and certificates on his walls are some what reassuring. He is very confident when he explains the wls procedures which makes me feel safe.
