I originally found Dr. Inabnet through my insurance company’s Provider Directory. The time from making the consultation appointment to the actual appointment (Nov. 19, 2001) was about two months. The front office staff is unprofessional. I have found this to be consistent on every office visit.

I only met with Dr. Inabnet once before my surgery, at the initial consultation. Dr. Inabnet put me at ease with his soft-spoken and friendly manner while discussing the general information about weight loss surgery. Since I came with some research in hand as well as my medical records and photos of myself over the course of my life, we were able to quickly narrow down the type of surgery that was best for me. Dr. Inabnet was thorough in his questions to better understand my long-term life goals and my expectations about the surgery. He was very honest about the surgical and lifetime risks involved. Since one of my life goals is to get married and have children, Dr. Inabnet was very thorough in explaining the risks to getting pregnant before 18 months after surgery. I was very scared that I would not be deemed a candidate for this surgery since I did not have any of the comorbids. Dr. Inabnet was confidant that the surgery would benefit me tremendously and that my insurance would cover the procedure.

Dr. Inabnet introduced me to his Physicians’ Assistant, Robyn Kessler, and explained the team approach to pre-op, surgery and post-op care. Robyn is the person I spoke with most often about clinical questions, test results, surgical dates and other information. The transition was handled in a very professional manner. Robyn is quite nice and very quick to answer questions or find out information. Because Dr. Inabnet is so busy with surgical procedures, patient follow-up, teaching and research, he really relies on the support team to handle the day-to-day tasks of getting patients to a surgical date. The key to getting in touch with Robyn or the nutritionists is via e-mail or a voice mail. I found that the staff returns phone calls and e-mails, usually within a day.

On the day of the surgery I met Dr. Inabnet’s Fellow who escorted me into the OR. Dr. Inabnet saw me briefly before the surgery to reassured me that everything would go well. Again, Dr. Inabnet was very soft-spoken and efficient. Dr. Inabnet spoke with my friend after the surgery and was very reassuring that the surgery went well and explained where I was and when I might be moved to a room.

Dr. Inabnet saw me the morning of my first post-op day to explain a test he had ordered and to review some of my vital signs that were low the previous night. He also came by in the evening to see how I was and to check on a problem with the nursing staff resulting on my low vital signs, again. Dr. Inabnet also saw me the morning of the second day with the wonderful news that I could go home that day. I consider his surgical skills, reassuring manner and follow-up to be outstanding.

I highly recommend Dr. Inabnet to anyone considering bariatric surgery.

After thinking about getting this surgery for over a year, I decided that I would go see a surgeon to see what it was all about, in addition to the research that I had done. I didn't have to wait long at all. I first met with his assistants, Rodilyn and Robin - thank God for them! Then I met with Dr. Inabnet. He was very positive about me having this surgery and felt that it would work for me. He explained the risks, even death, which scared me but I knew it was a possibility. I had numerous questions, such as getting pregnant, because I am only 21, in the future. He assured me that I would be able to have a healthy baby. This was my biggest concern. He also went over the different types of surgeries he did and I decided on Laproscopic Gastric Bypass. The aftercare program has been very good. If I have any questions they are right there to answer them. I will be seeing him every year from now on. They are very attentive and kind. I love the staff and my surgeon and wouldn't have chosen anyone else. He is very soft spoken but it really calms you in the consultation and before surgery. He is very considerate and thoughtful. I totally recommend him.

My impression of him is that he's very capable and confident in his demeanor. His office is extremely busy and the first consultation took several hours to complete. My wife and I both felt comfortable with what he had to say and the manner in which it was presented to us. He went through the risks and different types of surgeries and we decided on the LAP RNY.

I was surprised that getting the approval for insurance was as easy as it was. They handled everything. Up to this point, things couldn't have been easier.

This guy is awesome. I got through the surgery with no complications and am feeling great. He visited me every day and was very reassuring when I needed it the most. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

My first impression is of a quiet, concerned and professional doctor.
My impression of him only grew more positive with time. I had some hardship (physically) getting to my surgery date and he was with me all the way.
His main assistance Robin Kessler was EXCELLENT! Supportive, prompt, accurate and very caring.
He refrained from giving me answers to certain questions on the phone, alittle annoying. He is quiet and without alot of theatrics, don't perceive it as unwillingness. He is a wonderful surgeon and very sweet man.
He visited me in the hospital twice a day. I felt very reassured.
I was also visited by nutritionist several times. Alltogether I left the hospital armed with information and an accurate idea of what to expect.
We discussed risk, but I am very healthy so their wasn't much concern.
I rate him a 10!
Both competence and dimeaner count. But I would think competence should be first.

Finally I met him :) and he is real sweet! I have been crying for the past month, mixed emotions from not being able to decide on which surgery I want to have and all and Dr. Inabnet put it all in place, he is scandanavian by the way :) I was wondering too! He was great Yvonne was sweet as well, that is his nurse, I have not met his PA yet but if he/she is as pleasent as the rest of the staff there I will be one happy camper! The wait was kinda long, but not too bad, the Doctor took his time with me and I cannot wait to get my date!
I have met the PA, shes nice too, she always gets back to me right away. The only thing I am upset about is the fact that My surgeon decided to go out of town on November 2, so my date is moved to Nov. 6. Otherwise I have been pleased so far :)
11/17/01............BY THE WAY, MY DOCTOR IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST IN THE WORLD, I HAVE NEVER MET SUCH A KIND AND CARING MAN, THRU ALL MY PROBLEMS HE ASSISTED ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, VISITING ME EVERYDAY, SOMETIMES EVEN TWICE A DAY. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH KIND THINGS ABOUT HIM AND HIS PA ROBIN KESSLER. THEY ARE TRUELY THE BEST! I THANK THEM FOR MY SPEEDY RECOVERY :)

My fisrt impression of Dr. Inabnet was mixed. I liked the fact that he is very down to earth and calm, but at the same time wondered if he was just a little too calm. Now I am soo glad I chose him. I definitely have faith in him and am essentially entrusting my life to him for a day or so. He went over all the risks of the BPD/DS compared to the RNY and let me make an informed decision for myself. I thing he gets a 10 out of 10 for his office mannerisms so far. Although I have not had the surgery yet, I'm glad I chose him as my surgen. He has been great when dealing with the insurance company for me also.
I also loved his assistant, Robyn Kessler. She called me back almost every day to update me on what was needed. She called me right away with the insurance verdict and was willing to help me with any insurance questions or issues. Darryll was also great with the insurance companies. Thanks guys!

Dr. Inabnet was very pleasant and professional. Not stuffy, but not overly outgoing either. More importantly, my surgery was completely uneventful, I had no leaks, no drains, nothing. I have had some "side-effects" of course, but no "complications". He did explain risks and came to see me after surgery. When he couldn't make it, his team did. Overall gets a 10 out of 10. As for aftercare, I am supposed to go for followups at 3 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. His office staff was good. I dealt with Diana Gee and Robin Kessler and they usually returned my calls fairly quickly and were very helpful getting things together. Daryl Williams does the insurance, and he tends to wait until the last minute to submit things. I got my approval the day before surgery. Another girl who was suppsed to have surgery the same day didn't get her approval in time and had to be rescheduled. The hospital staff at Mt. Sinai was okay. Some were better than others, but none were horrible. One nurse who was very pleasant and would stop in to say hi and see if you needed anyting, would disappear and not return if you did need something. I had to change my own sheets when I threw up because she didn't come back. On the other hand, there was a young man (not sure if he was a nurse or not) who went out of his way many times for both me and my husband. Brought in a cot and tray so my husband could stay. I'd give the hospital about a 65%.

i liked dr inabnet from the very first day, he was very incouraging. i grew to cherish my relationship with dr inabnet. He really seems to care about me. His nurse, Nicole, was a life saver during the trama that i went thru to finally get to an operating date. she was very patient handling all my phone calls. i feel she is very overworked and could use some help <or at least better pay LOL> future patients should know all about him, as i have referred dr inabnet to others. he has the patience of a saint and i would recommend him to everyone. since i moved to london a few months after my surgery, i have communicated with dr inabnet through emails and he is prompt with replies. I also keep in touch with his nutricialist thru the email system and she is also prompt. Dr Inabnet told me before hand the risks but also told me the risks of NOT having the surgery. i was very large and unhealthy at that time. I would rate him in the highest regard. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were great. I know this is hard to believe, but i have NO COMPLAINTS what so ever with Dr Inabenet. Wait, I thought of one suggestion: i had one side effect after the surgery that NO ONE had warned me about, my throat started to close and i vomited everything for a week or so. had i known that this could happen, i had thought it was due to the surgery, i would have had it stretched sooner. but that problem was solved quickly by Dr Inabnet, referring me to an endrocologist quickly.

I was very impressed by Dr.Inabnet's approach to seeing a new patient. He was thorough while explaining information and answered all questions completly. He was very personable and professional.
The office staff was professional and always helpful. They seem to be very busy so you have to wait for calls to be returned. I did not have any negative experiences. Since I came out of the hospital a day early with no complaints, not even pain. I rate him A+
