LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Inabnet. If I could give him more stars, I would! He and his staff are very personable, professional, and informative. I cannot say enough great things about him.

I liked Dr. Inabnet the very first time I met him. By that time I had already spoken to and rejected three other surgeons, so that means something coming from me. I am very picky about where, when, and why I place my trust in a doctor, something that I think most obese patients can understand.

I had already decided I wanted DS surgery, and Dr. Inabnet confirmed that he thought I was a good candidate. He was very patient with me and my questions, giving me straightforward honest answers without being brusque or abrasive about it.

After my initial visit I had a ton of legwork to do in preparation for surgery, and his office staff was extraordinarily helpful. I called frequently to check on paperwork or to ask questions, and I was never left feeling lost or uncertain about what to do next. They even made the effort to follow up with ME when there was still some paperwork missing.

I would never, ever have let a surgeon operate on me if I didn't have complete faith in his surgical competence, but it is still hands-down Dr. Inabnet's bedside manner that makes him awesome in my book. Two days before my surgery I developed diarrhea, and he personally called me at home to ask some questions and make sure everything was OK. He stopped by to talk with me in the prep room before surgery, spent time chatting with (not just briefly updating) my parents and fiancee afterward, checked on me in the hospital, and even called me from home when I was still in the hospital on his day off. It made me feel very safe during my hospital stay to know that even though the care staff kept changing, there was still one doctor ultimately looking out for me.

I would recommend Dr. Inabnet to anyone seeking weight-loss surgery, for his world-class surgical skills, incredible bedside manner, and outstanding office staff.

12/9/07--dont know what brought me back here today but felt that I would update this. Lost 180 pounds total and don't have an ounce of fat on me. Never work out and eat like crap. My blood work comes out fine every time and my cholesterol is 110. I feel like I am Dr. Inabnet's poster child for success.--thanksrnrnrnHad initial meeting with Dr. Inabnet--seems smart and capable. Have been frustrated that Nicole his assistant seems to have problems returning calls and her voicemail is often full. When I finally spoke to her she told me the trick--call the main office and have her paged. Anyway, I have a date and will report back. rnrnrn11/1/01 Update---I am now three months post op and have lost 90 pounds. I am very happy with the entire process. My only source of complaint and advice to others in Inabnet's world is in regards to the Hospital. I HATED MT SINAI---I found the nurses to be neglectful and incompetent, the residents ignored my issues and even Inabnet didn't oversee me properly. The way to avoid this is three fold: A. Stay on top of everything---be a pain in the ass but keep on everyone to get what you need. I wasnt forcefull and as a result didnt get morphine the first night after surgury. B. If you take any medications----bring them to the hospital so when the nurses and residents don't bother to make sure that you have what you need for other conditions (my was for migraines) then you can just take it yourself. C. If you can afford it hire a private nurse otherwise try to have a loved one or friend available to help you in the hospital--I didn't know better and spent lots of time waiting for the call button to be answered. rnrnMy bottom line is use Inabnet--he is capable and competant----deal with Mt. Sinai with skepticism and try to have help for while in the hospital bed.

I felt that he was so informative and helpful. We established a great surgeon-patient relationship immediately. I feel confident putting myself in his care for the DS

I can't say enough gret things about my Dr. ( Inabnet)even though I haven't seen him in 5 years. I live 3 Hours away frm NYC and so after my initial year of surgery and weight loss success, I was great and able to be monitered by my family Dr. in N.E. PA where I reside. Going into the possability of this life changing surgery is both terrifying and exciting. New hope, a life regained and yet the fear of failure, struggle, even death. Having a Doctor with a GREAT bedside manner is just as important as having a surgeon with exceptional qualifications and the benefits of alot of experience. I can assure you Dr. Inabnet has BOTH. This is a journey that takes time, effort and lots of research. I "interviewed" several Doctors in my area who insisted a Banding would be just perfect for me. I challenged them that a Roux en Y was a much better choice with much better published results, they both said they would be happy to do that choice, however be prepared to do alot of VOMITING. From everything I had researched, what these Doctors told me was exactly OPPOSITE of what research shows. Many band proceedures leave patients only able to eat soft high carb diets resulting in little or no weight loss, where as a bypass has great success and following your Doctors advice, little or no side effects(not to mention, great results in comparison to the outdated banding proceedure). I in no way want to promote one proceedure over another, however certain proceedures have been improved upon and with wonderful results, and unfortunately my area was still behind the times. My EXTENSIVE research took me to Mt. Sinai. Formost in the roux en y proceedure was the head of the bariatric team Dr.Michael Gagner, but adding experience AND BEDSIDE MANNER was Dr. Barry Inabnet. From the first appointment, I knew he was the Dr. for me. I read on other patient testemonials that we all are soothed by his "SOFT SPOKEN MANNER" and I absoluteley agree. He is compassionate and kind, speaks in our "unmedical textbook language" so we understand everything. He knew about my children, family, work, and life in general because he cared, not because I was his 3 O'Clock patient. I wish I could give you some negatives to my experience to balance all the posatives, but they all have nothing to do with Dr, Inabnet. They would be silly things like parking, visitng times, etc. , all mute because he is nolonger at Mt. Sinai and now at New York Prespeterian. Coming from a distance, I wouldn't change a thing.

My husband and I both had WLS on July 9, 2003. Dr Inabnet was a wonderful and compassionate Doctor. He is very professonal, and we highly reccomend him. Robyn and Rodelyn have always been helpful and our nutritionist Meredith is wonderful. Dr. Inabnet explained all the risks prior to surgery, but the benefits outweighed the risks for us. By no means is this surgery an easy way out. We have learned to overcome bad habits, eat slowly, and seperate food and liquid. The best thing we ever did!!

I loved Dr. Inabnet the moment I met him. I was sitting in his office, 23 years old, 100 pounds overweight, and scared out of my mind. He was soft spoken, giving me all of my options. From start to finish, all of Dr. Inabnet's staff was warm and caring. Helping me through every step. It's been 2 years since I had the surgery. I have lost over 100 pounds and my life is completely changed.

My meeting with Dr. Inabnet went better than I thought. He took his time with me and answered all of my questions. He went over the different surgical procedures with my and agreed that the procedure I picked would best suit me. The good Dr. went over the aftercare with me and stressed follow ups are important. Overall I am extremely happy with the decision I have made so far. Rodelyn, which is Dr. Inabnet's assistant is a doll. She is very helpful and a wealth of information. I love that office!!!!

I had my surgery on December 16th and my surgeon is amazing. He was there by my bedside everyday to make sure I was doing fine. His bedside manner is excellent and he took the time to explain to my family what my needs were going to be once I got home. I love him, love him, love him. He is the best surgeon.
