Dr. Aranow was both attentive and engaging when discussing the surgery with me. He was minimally involved. I had two appointments with him and the surgery. However, he has created a practice chock full of people that help you with your success. Think of the pit crew at the Indy 500. They were quick to help you when you had issues and remain in contact after you're finished. It was a fantastic experience.
Dr. Aranow is very thorough - he makes sure folks know everything they need to know about the process as well as the surgery itself. I have complete confidence in him!
Dr. A is the best in the Northeast according to my PCP and I believe Dr. A would agree. His experience speaks for itself. The staff in his office is NOW fantastic. Follow-up is very thorough and educational. The structured meetings for aftercare have improved greatly due to staff changes. (Thank you Julie Chomich, APRN.)
At first Dr Aranow came across as young and cocky. As his informational meeting continued I could tell that he really knew what he was doing. He answered most questions during the one hour lecture. It bothered me a bit that he closed the session with people still having their hands raised. All and all he impressed me much more than the other two surgeons that I visited.
At my first visit he was very through, answered all of my questions. He was kind and took the time that I needed.
The staff has been wonderful. They have been easy to schedule with, have not cancled any appointments, and seem happy to be there. The office is clean, modern, and has baric chairs. (How nice)
My first impression of Doctor Aranow, was he is verying serious about what he does ,and he was more then willing to answer any questions, and very honestly,he is the top Doc thru and thru, and is very very thorough.rnrnMy impression of him over time is he amazings, he just gets better and better.rnrnHis office staff is polite and very much have it all together, they make you feel very comfortable ..and they are very expierenced.rnThere is nothing that I like least at all, about him or his staff.rnFuture patients should know that he is the best around, and I highly recommend him!rnHe is really excellent about after care , any questions or concerns are addressed immediatly!!rnHe was very very thorough about the risks of the surgery and honest, he took a long time during my visits to make sure all my questions and concerns were answered.rnrnI rate as I said before Doctor Aranow is an excellent Doctor, and I do highly recommend him, and so havent a lot of his other patients have said the same about him, he also has Top rated bedside manner, and surgical competence!!! rnHe is number one and very caring to this date it will be 3 years in December I weigh 260, they want me to lose about 58 more pounds then I can have a tummy tuck!
Very Confident Surgeon. My impression did not change as it is so obvious he is good at what he does. His office staff is an A-. The front desk is always in lala land, his NP Julie is GREAT, the Nuts are overpriced but informative. The least thing I liked is the cattle like process, move em in, and then move em out. This procedure though is popular so surgeons are way to busy for being personable. Patients should know though they are in GREAT hands. He is one of the best in CT PERIOD! Aftercare again is OK, they were there when I needed them. For 40K worth of bills I wish I had at least a RED CARPET lol. Risks of surgery were explained, but the DR. vibes are so confident that you shrug them off. Dr. Aranow is a perfect 10 for this surgery. Surgical confidence is the most important, so the bedside manner can give a little.

I'm very satisfied & recommendrnhim to others planning wls.rnBoth competence & bedside manner are great,rnand Dr Aranow has both; however, if I hadrnto chose, I would certainly go with competence.
Dr. Aranow was recommended by someone who works with my husband. Infact, my husband's friend send a dvd home for me to view about Dr. Aranow and his program. I was so impressed with his approach to surgery that I called and made an appointment the next morning. So far I have not been disappointed, in fact I'm very impressed and looking forward to surgery on Tues. June 16, 2009.
He is down to earth, very profesional and very thorough. rnEven more confident I have made the right choicernvery friendly and helpfulrnso far so goodrnHe looks very young but dont let that fool you.rnHe is detailed and very thorough. He is open and honest and no question is stupid ask him!!!!rnFollow up is one of the keys to your success. Why put yourself through this if your not going to go all the way. Your life is so worth it!rnThe aftercare program I am working with my nutritionist more than with the Dr. for right now. rnHe went over them and was very informative and answered my questionsrnI have to say honestly Dr. Aranow is one of the BEST surgeons. He is very thorough and the staff is amazing. I do not have anything negative at all to report. He is the tops from his bedside manner to his surgical competence.rnI know they say no one can be 100% but I honestly cannot say one negative at this time. Everything went so much better than I could have ever hoped it would. rn
