Middlesex Health Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Bariatric Center
Dr.Aranow was very nice. He showed and tolded me anything I wanted to know. I did not get rushed, and I know he is very busy because he is booked 2 months out just for consults. He tolded me what to expect from my insurance company. Which unfortunetly is bc/bs and they don't like to approve lap bands. His office was helpful in scheduling all the appt's I needed and explaing all the cost's that were not covered. My overall impression of the office and of Dr.Aranow is that they definatly know what they are doing and how to get it done. I would give them a 9+. I would recommend them to anyone interested and even say it's worth the extra wait to have such a qualified and nice surgeron!!!:)
Very informative, extremely confident in his ability. He doesn't pull his punches be honest with him and he will work with you. He discuss the importance of follow up visits and also the risks along with the benefits. On a 1-10 scale he's a 9.9, only GOD gets a rating of 10 with me. I was impressed by his manner, but I believe his competence is what convinced me. He stated at his seminar that some people feel he is arrogant, I did not get that impression, I felt he was good at what he did and was proud of it. If your looking for a doctor to cut and staple this is not the one for you, he is concerned about his patients and wants you to know what you getting into before the surgery.
Like everyone else I thought Dr.A. looked very young. However, I was most impressed by his confidence in himself, his staff, and his nurses at the hospital. I also like his whole program. His attention to detail is very important to me. The office staff--Stacy and Lois have been wonderful. Lois spent a great deal of time talking to me both in the office and on the telephone. Everyone I have met both at the office and at the hospital have a lot of faith and confidence in this doc. And these are people that see the good, the bad, and the ugly every day. Dr A has a stringent before and after program. I believe that is why he does have such a successful program.
My first impression of Dr. Aranow is that he is a VERY busy man. I was a little rushed at my first appointment, but I found him to be very kind and a total expert in his field. I felt immediately confident in him as a surgeon and know he is the best choice for me. His office staff was VERY friendly and on the ball.
My first impression of Dr. Aranow was wow his looks young. But as he started to explain the surgeries pro and cons he was confident, professional well informed and I can even say he was a little rude, but I liked it because he was stressing saftey and that's vey important to me. He would say something like (if you don't complete your paper work, if you don't follow mine and my staffs instructions I will not, if you don't stop or if I do not see effort on your part I will not perform the surgrey on you) and I loved that because it all spells SAFTEY!. Dr. Aranow's staff is wonderful very caring and attentive. He also talks about all the risk and complication you might have with this surgery. He has a presentation on it with fact and percentages. He expalins what to expect after surgery. He even send me to 4 mandatory support group sessions which I think are very helpful becuase you get to hear and speak to people he has already prefomed the surgery on and learn on what to expect after the surgery when you are home. I'm almost done with my 4 and I plan on attending before and after my surgery for support the group is great and confidential. Right now I have nothing negative to say about my experience with Dr. Aranow, but belive me if I do I will be heard.
My first impression of Dr. Aranow when I met him at his seminar (Oct. 14, 2003) was that he seemed very confident and self-assured in his program. It was this confidence in himself and his abilities that made me believe he would be the surgeon for me. Also, he explained that this surgery is not for everyone and that for his program his patients need to meet strict criteria and need to meet certain goals before he would perform this surgery. This made me more assured that here is a doctor who is not involved in a revolving door operation just interested in making a quick buck. He requires that YOU as the patient make a committment to this program. I cannot say there is anything I like LEAST about him. I was a little miffed at a time when he mentioned postponing my surgery if I had hypothyroidism, but realistically it makes the most sense and he was/is doing his job as a responsible physician. He overall is a phenomenal surgeon, incredibly competent and intellegent with a great group of staff and other doctors/nurses/professionals involved in this program he has nurtured. He has a very structured aftercare where patients work with both his office and the dietician in his program. I have talked to other people who go through the surgery and are then basically put out on their own, not this program.
I, along with family & friends, thank Dr. Jonathan Aranow and all his associates for giving me a new lease on life.
I am a healthcare professional. I did a lot of reseach on WLS and surgeons in my area. I chose Dr. Aranow, because of his experience with Bariatric surgery. I talked to people and found out about his great before surgery support and post-op support. I actually think, besides a great surgeon, these two things are neccessary. Upon meeting Dr. Aranow, I was made to feel very comfortable. He actally made me feel, I was the only one of his patient's who mattered! Now that is a task, knowing how many patients he does have. He kept the answers simple and was realistic about it all. He is confident, but not cocky. I have every assurance that I will be taken care of properly through this process. I have had all my appts required. (PCP, Dietary and psych consult, as well as a voluntary upper and lower endoscopy) I am now waiting for those reports to get to Dr. A's office and be ready for insurance approval. I have lost 8 of the 10 lbs Dr. A required me to lose and I have begun a vitimin regimen, that I will continue after surgery. I have also incorporated a bit of exercise to my pre-op program...a very difficult task for me.
