Very impressed with his knowledge. His staff may be overworked, not alway helpful to me. His surgical competence and bedside manner was great.

Dr. Margaret Inman seems to be a very competent and caring person. I didn't get to meet with her personally the day of my group consultation. However, I did meet with her PA-C, Holly, who was very nice, answered all of my questions and then some, and reassured me that I had made the right decission.

The one thing about Dr. Inman that did stick out in my mind was the fact that she was the first physician I had ever met, and I worked at a hospital for over 3 years, that didn't blame my weight on a character fault. She explained that the weight problem in America is based on genetics, enviroment, and personal/ stresses/ individual reasons.

Her staff is incredible, too. I call them all of the time asking questions and they have never made me feel like a pest. They always answer my questions and make me feel like I am Dr. Inman's only patient, which I know I am not since she does 100's of these operations a year!

I met Dr. Inman at my group consultation appointment on Jan. 27. I was very impressed with her and the straight forward way she presented the information about the surgery. She was very patient and answered all questions very thoroughly. I didn't speak with her one-on-one I talked with her assistant who answered my personal questions and discussed my case.
I only have a couple complaints. One is that it took a long time to get my consultation and surgery date. If I had known how long the process was I would have started a year earlier. My insurance company came through quickly, it was Dr. Inman's office that I had to wait on. The other problem was that I couldn't seem to get a real person on the phone when I called her office. I left messages but my calls weren't returned. I finally contacted the office manager and she was very helpful and concerned about the non-returned calls. But overall I would say that Dr. Inman must be very good or I wouldn't have to wait so long for surgery.

My Surgeon is Dr. Margaret Inman. My first impression of her was that she seemed self-assured. I was also startled by how dainty her hands looked!

The office staff seemed nice and efficient but it's not her office staff..this is St. Vincent's Baratric office which is affiliated with Dr. Inman.

This opinion is based on my consultation. I haven't had surgery yet so I haven't seen Dr. Inman since.

I didn't actually get to even talk to Dr. Inman herself. For whatever reason part of the group I was in talked to her and the other part talked to her assistant.
That kind of disappointed me.

Dr. Inman's presentation was fine and she talked about after care, risks, and how long you'd be in the hospital.

I would say overall, after reading so many comments about other people's consultations with their surgeons
and comparing those experiences with my own...I was a little disappointed.

I guess I'll have to wait and see how the rest turns out.
Dr. Inman's reputation is too good for me to pass on her being my surgeon.

I met my surgeon during my consultation appointment. She spoke to about 15 of us together in a conference room and told us about the different types of surgery, side effects, etc. Then she let us ask questions, she didn't leave any question unanswered. I was surprised that I asked the most questions of everyone in my group. I really liked that she said if we ever want to meet with her that she was available on Mondays, to make an appointment and she will meet with us one on one and discuss any concerns we had. I left there with a peaceful feeling and felt confident in the surgeon I had chosen. St. Vincents has a lifetime aftercare program. More later...

At the consulation with Dr. Inman, it was during the class time where she takes about 90 minutes to explain the procedure, risks..etc. She takes time to answer questions to the group. She seemed very warm and had a sense of humor. That may not seem important to some but it lightens the mood which I feel helps reduce the anxiety. The only downfall I could find was that when meeting with patients one on one, she had her Physicians Assistant meet with some of the patients. I think she is a resident possibly training for this type of surgery? Not sure. She was very nice as well...unfortunately I cannot recall her name. Some people in our class met with Dr. Inman and others with the assistant. I met with the assistant. I would feel much better going into the surgery if I had actually spoken with the Doctor who is going to perform the surgery. On the flipside, I understand why she does it this way. The surgery has become so popular that the classes are so large she would be there till all hours of the evening if she had to meet with each person. I guess I look at it like Dr. Inman must have a lot of faith in her assistant to be able to count on her for her input. Either way, I am still glad I switched to Dr. Inman.

I called in November to schedule for consultation. I attended Dr. Inman's consultation on Dec. 9, 2002. She seems to be knowledgable & very good at what she does. I have heard alot of positive comments from other people who have went to her. The only thing you're not told at the seminar is how long the process takes. The first letter was sent to Cigna on Dec. 24. Of course that took until Jan. 27 to get approval with alot of follow up. Then it took until Feb. 20 to get a surgery date for July. Dr. Inman is very booked up and it would have been nice to know before getting started. I guess I'm just impatient!

My first impression of him was "WOW he seems so down to Earth!"

My impression of him only got better.

The office staff is the bombdiggity!

Not a thing, he is so likable as well as lovable.

That he is so kind and sweet and ready to listen to anything you have to say and will answer any and all questions that you may have.

He emphasizes aftercare a LOT! After all aftercare is just as important if not moreso than the surgery itself.

Yes He does have a very well structured aftercare program.

He addressed the risks of the surgery very well and made everything very clear to me.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm how would I rate him? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I would rate him as a 100.

Without a doubt---------BOTH!

His sense of humor is great too.

I had my consultation with Dr. Inman on 1/27/03. Found it to be very informative. She is very highly recommended by others and I would have to include myself into that list. She is very dedicated to her cause and she is there to give you a tool that you use and make work for you. She makes it very well known that this process is up to you and that it will not be easy and you will have to work hard.

I must say that Dr. E. is the best! Even though he called me a "blue octupus" (inside joke Dr. E) You really cannot ask for a better surgeon! I am two months out and have dropped 70 lbs! This man truly cares about what he does and the benefit it will give you as a WLS patient. If you need to drive to Indianapolis, don't sweat it, it is worth the trip!
