Pre-op:
My first impression was he's young and very Handsome! :)

Getting to talk to him i really felt like he knew what he was talking about and doing. He made me feel very sure of the surgery.

All his staff are very nice and treat you with kindness.

Dont dislike anything yet. lol!

He is a very Kind and really is there for his patients. Any questions or concerns that you have you can ask. He listens and helps.

I rate Dr Korman a 20 out of 10. He is the best!

Both his Surgical competence and bedside manner are wonderful. Better than i could have imagined.

My first meeting with Dr. Korman was very reasurring. He made me feel comfortable and explained everything he would be doing. I highly reccomend this Doctor. I liked him so much I am now working for him. He saved my life. My BP is now normal as is my cholesterol, and my sugar.

Extremely knowledgeable, caring, competent.

Personable too.

Staff was professional, helpful, caring. My appt time was running late and I was able to overhear several conversations between office staff and post-ops... as a pre-op, I greatly appreciated the fact that the patient was the priority even after surgery.

Least? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Throughout the entire process, I felt in extremely capable hands and received excellent care... which continues to this day.

Dr. Korman's office definitely emphasizes aftercare, has a structured aftercare program, and thoroughly reviewed the risks of surgery beforehand.

I would rate Dr. Korman a definite 10! His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great!

I explicitly state that the above comments are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience.

Impressons: - Intelligent, skilled, professional, compassionate, honest, cares about my problems with weight. I should say that I don't want a hand-holder. I don't want a new friend. I want a doc in my corner who will do his best by me. He seems to fill that bill.

Time: - This impression hasn't changed.

Offic/Staff: - Office is physically geared to obese, big sturdy chairs, wide doorways. staff is friendly, personal, don't make people seem like numbers. They are busy but seem to really like their job and their patients.

Like the Least: - Nothing so far.

Patients Should Know: - Dr Korman wants you involved in the process of change, you cannot expect him to cure things, he wants you to do your part as well.

Aftercare: - A structured program is in place and patients are encouraged to use it.

Risks: - All questions were answered honestly, both benefits and risks. The procedure was explained well

Overall: Excellent surgeon and staff

Which is better: - They both matter. There are many excellent surgeons out there. A prospective patient needs to make sure of the competence of the surgeon first and then find one whose personality they mesh with next.

Just want to say that I am so happy that I switched to Dr. Korman...he and his staff are amazing and so caring. Dr. Korman got me thru a rough patch in the hospital just by being so sweet and caring, he has a great bedside manner. I am truly grateful to have had him as my surgeon.
Will tell more as I go thru the journey.
Thank you Dr. Korman!

I was very impressed with Dr. Korman at his seminar on 3/8/03. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question asked. He did seem very young. He had a great pressence about himself. I lived 9 1/2 hours from Inglewood, CA. So his office sent me the application packet and I had it filled out and turned it in the day of the seminar. In less than a month I had my surgery scheduled for 4/4/03. Due to the distance he did a phone consultation with me and he explained things plus answered questions that I had.

On 4/1/03 I had my day of tests and again talked to Dr. Korman. Everything was a go for Fri 4/4/03.

Dr Kormans staff was very effecient. I really liked Bridgette, Anne and Edward. I had some problems with Susan but I realized she was only trying to look out for me. At the time I wasn't so sure. Thank you everyone.

The risks of surgery were explained to me in detail. We went over everything at least twice. At the time I was getting anxious and I needed the reminders. When I went back for my last day of checkups and tube removal I forgot my early morning upper GI test. I completely forgot about it. They worked me in at the hospital. I was so glad.

The hospital was very thorough. The room was very nice. It accomodated a very large person well. I felt so good to actually have a hospital gown that fit ME! Whenever I needed assistance the nurses were right there. I got up and walked on my own after awhile. The stay was short and sweet. Some of the night nurses from other floors weren't too knowledgable but they tried very hard to help.

I would rate my overall care from hospital and Korman's office a 10+. Though I do not reccomend the Holiday Inn LAX.

One last comment about Dr. Korman. He reminded me of a young "Doogie Howser". He wasn't as young as he looked. But a great Doctor! I would highly recommend him!

Well, looks like I'll be going with Dr. Korman! I have submitted all the paperwork and done my phone consult with him and it looks as if I'll have a date very soon! Dr. Korman was very pleasant on the telephone, took time to answer all my questions and went over everything very carefully. His office staff have been nothing but helpful, I look forward to meeting them all in person.

My first impression of Dr Korman was he is a neat guy and younger than me.

His office staff is great and Edward is one really cool dude.

Dr Korman explained everything to my wife and I and answered anything we asked.

Future patients should know that they are in good hands with him.

Aftercare is a big thing and they show you a slide show as to why.

All risk's of surgery were addressed.

Dr Korman would rate a 10.

As to which is better, both are great to have but surgical competence is what we all are looking for I think.
