LifeBridge Health Bariatrics Program Bariatric Center
Dr. Christina Li was my surgeon. She is absolutely wonderful and quite skillful. She takes the time to get to know you before the surgery, explains everything in detailed, gives you ample time to ask any questions you might have and doesn't mind answering questions.
The staff in her office is wonderful as well. Paula greets you in such a way that makes you feel right at home, always cheerful and pleasant. Karen will answer any questions that you might have and Eileen is great to work with you, your appointments and insurance company.
I don't believe I would have done as well with out Dr. Li and her staff.
The process of deciding to have weight loss surgery, looking for a surgeon, finding one you like, and then going through all the preop testing and waiting would have been interminable had it not been for the unfailing support and perseverance of Dr. Li and her staff.
I was originally a patient of Dr. Schweitzer's and went through a batch of meetings with him discussing my surgery options. He really felt I should go the gastric bypass route, but based on my research I felt I was a better candidate for lap band. After a bunch of research I located Dr. Gandsas, who referred me to Dr. Li.
I could not be happier! Dr. Li is a wonderfully warm, caring human being - who places an extraordinary amount of emphasis on you the individual. Her bedside manner and explanation of the procedure was so helpful and when I had questions, Dr. Li was prepared to sit and answer them over and over again until she was fully satisified that I knew what I was getting into. I could not have conjured up a better doctor or surgeon, she is truly an exceptional person who found her calling. I would urge anyone who is even thinking about lap band to contact Dr. Li. Once you leave her office and meet Paula, Eileen, Nancy and Karen (her amazing staff)you know there are no better five people to be surrounded by as you go through this life altering journey. I hope you are lucky enough to become one of their patients.
Mr first impression was she seemed very young, but very knowledgeable.
Impression did not change, but after meeting with Dr. Li, found out that she was someone I could trust and speak to with whatever questions arose. The staff at Sinai is the best. Everyone there is so kind and caring. Whatever questions you had, all you had to do was call and someone there had an answer.
She made me feel very comfortable and secure in a very crutial time before surgery, and was very caring and thoughtful during and after my surgery. Dr. Li is very personalable and seems to really care about her patients. She emphasizes strongly on aftercare and making sure you have all the information you need in reference to all the aftercare programs they have.
She informed me of ALL risks prior to surgery, let me know the offices' standings with each risk. Walked me through each and every step of the entire process. I think that Dr. Li is the BEST. Each time you visit the office is better than the last, she always and I mean always has a hug for you. She makes you feel very comfortable and cared about, not just another patient.
I think that surgical competence and bedside manner are both great and Dr. Li excels in both.
When I first met Dr Christina Li, I was immediately impressed, she has remained absolutely wonderful throughout my entire experience. Her office staff is very friendly, compassionte and helpful. Her bedside manner and surgical competence is excellent and I highly recommend her as your surgeon.
Dr Li is a wonderful Doctor, she is young probably right out of medical school, but this is the profession that is right for her, she is kind and very easy to talk too makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed, you can tell her anything and she listens to you. The staff is nothing but wonderful each and everyone is special, but I have a special fondness for Eileen, she will go thru Hell for her patients and fight all the way, what a great lady!!!!! Dr Li and her staff keep a close eye on me and call to check up on me to see how everything is going and that has meant alot to me it shows how much they care. I would rate them a perfect score of 10, because they all are wonderful
My first impression of Dr. Li was wow! She was so understanding, full of energy, and young!(I think we are around the same age). My highest aspiration would be to have her energy one day. She was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of surgery and put me at ease right away. Wonderful bedside manner, Offered many hugs and kind words of support. I must say I have had several surgeons before and never did any of them offer a hug. It has only been one week post-op, but all of her staff are so attentive and full of enery and they really seem to care about you. I think they realize what an important job they have and that they are a part of SAVING LIVES. The aftercare and post-op diet are greatly emphasized. Karen, the nurse coordinator, Nancy the nutritionist and Paula the scheduling wonder are wonderful.(I have really only had contact with these three)
Surgical competence is my number one concern by far, what a blessing to have found an endearing bedside manner as well with Dr. Christina Li.
My first impression of Dr. Li was that she is a kind and compassionate person who sincerely wants to help her patients. I had my WLS on March 25, 2005 and I still have the highest regard for Dr. Li. She is a talented surgeon who is well trained (and believe me, as a nurse, I KNOW how to research a physicans' training and educational background) :-)
Dr. Li is trained in advanced laposcopic technique and she performes the open and lap procedures in addition to gastric banding. She is quite thorough during the pre-op process and you will be required to attend 3 pre-op seminars prior to your surgery.
She extensively reviews all aspects of the surgery, making sure to addresses the risks. She sits down with you and answers all of questions and she tells you to call the office if you need further information.
There is an aftercare program which requires each patient to have a post-op check within a week of the procedure and then at intervals of 1,3,6,9,and 12 months (if you had RNY). Appointments are more frequent for those people to have the banding procedure. The aftercare program includes follow-up visits with the physican, dietitican and lab work. Once you are a post-op patient, you can attend the monthly post-op seminars.
What do I like least about Dr. Li? If I had to find something to say (and that is difficult), I'd say she has limited office hours. I give her high ratings because she is knowledgable, competent and genuinely cares about improving the lives of her patients.
What should future patients know about her? After your surgery and when the weight starts to come off, you might be able to keep pace with Dr. Li. She is young and full of energy. AND, she has a great bedside manner.
Now if I've left anything out, or if you have questions, please feel free to e-mail me
My first impression about Dr. Li was what in the world did I get myself into, but she made me feel very comfortable. The enviroment, the people, and about myself. I feel so much better about myself now that I have had the surgery. I would recommened anyone to have this surgery most importantly with Dr. Li and her crew.
My Surgeon is Dr. Christina Li of Sinai hospital in Baltimore. My first impression of her was mixed because I did not know what to expect. I assumed on myfirst visit she would ask me questions like how did you get this large but she was the opposite. Dr. Li was professional, caring and kind as well as encouraging. My expectations was she would be demeaning and arrogant due to the nature of the visit. But, I was pleasantly surprised and empowered to go and get the necessary pre-op work done so she could schedule my surgery.
My impression of her remained consistent through out, pre op she was to the point in kind words that did not belittle me. She saw me in the waiting room and asked if I had any last minute concerns. With a hug from her this relieved me of any fears and anxieties. I have been in Nursing for over twenty five years and do not know many Surgeons who take the time to hug their patients. I guess what I want to express and communicate is she is not just a great and caring surgeon but also a great person and skillful Surgeon.
Dr. Li informed me of all the risks, she emphasized follow her program and sucess will follow. My pain was minimum, my recovery was 2-3 weeks and adjusting to my pouch improved in about 2-3 weeks.
In my opinion Dr. Li is a competent Surgeon with excellent credentials and bedside manners. She really cares for her patients before and after surgery.
The only negative thing that I have to say about my WLS experience is the test the next day that checks for leaks. the fluid I consumed tastes nasty and becasue I was not use to my new small pouch I drank too much and was sick all day.
Finally, I am six weeks post op and I feel great and I am following Dr. Li's aftercare program, overall this is the best thing I ever did for me.
