LifeBridge Health Bariatrics Program Bariatric Center
First impressions were very good, shes direct and to the piont in trying to help your needs. Impressions didnot change much, I added caring to my impressions, she knows what shes doing. The office staff are very professtional and friendly, you are made to fell good about yourself. No lease likes because she's their to help me with my obesity issues. Future patient should know that Dr. Li's there for you and will help you, but you better do all that she says do or she will let you know. She's very heart warning with her patients. She is stern about aftercare, thats why we must do as she instructs us to do, so that we get well and have the best of health. Her gold is to see you loose the weight and drop as many meds as possible. Yes she does have a structured aftercare program, it consist of excercise, diet and regular visits with her and the dietician, also group therapy. The risk of surgery was read over with me and broken down for me to undestand. She's the best Dr. to me and for me. I,m glad that shes my Dr. I feel great about myself, I,m doing great, she really cares. I rate her excellent. Both bedside and surgical manners are great.
I first saw Dr. Li at a seminar. I thought she looked very young, but seemed to be knowledgeable and professionsl. Over time, I became more impressed because of my unique situation. I went through many tests and was under the impression my surgery was coved by my insurance. As a teacher, I had scheduled my surgery for July 3, 2007. In June , after all testing was complete, the surgeeons office called telling me there was a hold up. After days of calls, I found out that United Healthcare was not going to pay. I had my primary care physician and Dr. Li write letters stating how important this was for my health. Dr. Li's letter was wonderful- actually siting research. Unfortunately, the insurance company didn't see it that way. (even if they ever read IT!) I then obtained a lawyer, and by November 07 was approved. I returned to see Dr. Li and did not have to complete another round of paperwork, although I had to update a few tests. Because of that, and Dr. Li had a baby herself in December, my surgery did not occur until February 29th, 2008.rn The staff at the bariatric office is very good at this time. I especially like the girl who weighs people in at the office. She is a former bariatric patient. One wouldn't know it, by looking at her, but her before picture is up on the wall with the statistics! This lady is always all smiles! It makes you feel good every time you go into the office.rn If there is one thing I liked least about Dr. Li, was the time I spoke to her by phone, after an unfortunate call by one of the previous office persons. Without getting into particulars, this person gave me incorrect information which upset me greatly, causing undue stress and my blood pressure to rise on a visit I had for my cardiac evaluation. I understand Dr. Li was trying to be professional and take up for her staff, but the bedside manner of that conversation was not good. since that time, I have not had any difficulty. Dr. Li came to see me herself and sent others to see me each of the 3 days I spent in the hospital. All my concerns were addressed and the hospital staff was very good- from nurses to assistants.rn Aftercare is discussed at the semiars and workshops. I was given a lot of material in folders. I have filled up a notebook with paperwork I have to refer to when I wish. all the risks of the different types of surgeries are discussed in detail. At Sinai hospital the aftercare program consists of various visits with the surgeon, some with the nutritionist, and others if one needs to see her individually. The support group topics are interesting and varied.rn Overall, I would rate Dr. Li as a very good surgeon with good skills and bedside manner. She even impressed my Mom and daughter when they met her at the hospital.
My surgeon/friend, the incredible Dr. Christina Li... What more can I say that hasn't already been said? Well let me try, My first impression of Dr. Li was she was so young and pretty to an accomplished surgeon that you almost don't take her serious. However listening to her discuss your weight loss objectives with you, You quickly realize why Dr. Li is revered as one of the best in this field of surgery. Dr. Li was very thorough in explaining the risk of the surgery and the commitment she expects from you to prepare yourself for this lifestyle change. Dr. Li's staff is also very friendly and professional dedicated to make this a most stress free journey into your new you. Immediately after the surgery the only way I could tell I had the surgery is that I couldn't eat as much as I used to. I couldn't eat and drink fluids at the same time, and the little incensions that two months after the surgery are barely visible. THANK YOU DR.CHRISTINA LI and STAFF!!!
I was referred to Dr. Li by two close friends and iI was so pleased with their recommendation! Dr. Li is so wonderful and charismatic. She is s genuine doctor and it is clear that the health of her patients is first on her list. Each time I saw her, she took the time to answer all of my questions and help calm any fears I had through this journey. On The morning of surgery she was a breath of fresh air for this ball of nerves and assured me all would be fine - and it was. After my surgery she met personally with my family and explained in detail how things went; this was a great comfort for them to be able to ask questions as well. I saw Dr. Li in recovery and she explained what I needed to do and stated she would see me the next afternoon after clinic. She was there just when she said she would be. Dr. Li is an absolutly wonderful doctor and an assett to her profession. I would recommend her 100% to anyone searching for a surgeon in this field. Thank you Dr. Li!
I met my surgeon 1 1/2 years prior to surgery. I saw her at the hospital seminar talking about the surgery it effects and always emphasizing that this is a tool. Those words always stayed with me, even though I haven't decided on surgery.rnI went 1 year later to another seminar and I happened to show up on the day that she was talking. At that point, I made my decision to have the surgery and wanted her to perform it. It was something about her that I really liked. rnWhen I started to go to appoints, she always made me feel very warm and welcomed. She has a beautiful bedside manor and rnI recommend Dr. Christina Li to anyone interested or thinking about WLS.rnI had surgery at Sinai in Baltimore, Maryland. Everything went so smoothly during surgery and the Dr. informed my family every hour of the surgery as to what is going on and how I was doing.rnSinai is well structured prepping you prior to day of surgery and after. There is a registered dietian that follows you prior to surgery and after. The dietician makes sure that you are intaking the proper supplements and exercising on a regular basis.
I had the lap band procedure done in August 2007 with Christina Li. My first impression about her was how personable she was. Very few doctors are genuine enough to care about their patients enough to call them personally at home or to give them an encouraging hug each time they come into the office. My impression of her continued to grow as friend who cared about my success more than as a doctor performing a one time procedure.rnThe office staff was extremely helpful and efficient from visits to insurance. Dr. Christina Li emphasizes the continued care of all her patients even after surgery. The follow-up appointments, support groups, emails, nutritionist and concern continues even after surgery.rnI would give her the highest recommendation possible. She is an extremely skilled and compassionate surgeon! She is also able to speak frankly about the procedure on the level of her patients.
From my first impression, Dr. Li was very caring, compassionate & knowledgeable.rnShe has a great bedside manner & thoroughly explains the procedure & process.rnHer staff is also awesome & are very thoughtful & knowledgeable too.rnI would highly recommend Dr. Li.rnI have friends who have had this procedure too at different hospitals, & I have no doubt I came to the right place.rnrn
I think Dr.Li and I bonded right away. The very first meeting, I told her what i wanted and she told me what would be best for me and gave me time to make the decision. She did not sugar-coat anything and she was straight forward with positives and negatives about the surgery. Most of all the big hug she gave me when i first met her. I gained confidence in the surgery and in her, Dr.Li .rnrn -Katherine Ann Watersrnrn
I first saw Dr. Li at a informational seminar and found her to be very plain spoken and incredibly knowledgable. When I met her in my first appontment, I knew I made the right decision. rnrnDr. Li cared about me and my decision from the beginning. She told me what to expect and laid out exactly what she expected from me. She is always more than happy to talk about concerns and has never had anything short of a fantastic \"bedside manner.\" rnrnHer skill as a surgeon is second to none. I not only had no compications, but I had no (none, zero, nothing) pain. I've been post-op for 2 weeks now and my incisions have all but healed.rnrnI look forward to working with Dr. Li as I get healthier and celebrate my advances.rnrnI can not imagine having gone through this with anyone else except Dr. Li. She was incredible and I highly, highly recommend her to anyone considering this surgery.
Dr. Li instantly put me at ease about the whole process. She answered all of my questions about the procedure. She and her staff made me comfortable with my decision to have this surgery. I was very confident with her abilities because she made sure I was well informed. She always ended our appointments with a big smile and a hug. I feel that she really cares about the health and safety of her patients.
