My first impression of Dr. Roslin was that he exuded confidence and had an aura of bravado about him. He came highly recommended and I felt extremely comfortable with him from the moment that I met him. Dr. Roslin is a no-nonsense guy altough we did bond somehwat since I used to represent the 1969 Mets and he was able to name each member of the team (quite impressive)! We discussed options and agreed that I was a good candidate for the lap band. To my surprise we set June 10th as the date (less than a month after my May 19th consult). We didn't really discuss risks etc. that much because Dr. Roslin's colleague, Dr. Shah, did a terrific power point presentation of options and risks in the conference room for several patients prior to my consult with Dr. Roslin. It is clear that Dr. Roslin is a busy man and that he is not the kind of guy that will be all "warm and fuzzy" with you. That didn't bother me at all. I liked him and felt that he would do a terrific job (this proved to be very true). His staff was very professional and competent. Everyone was pleasant enough but, in my opinion, you can sense that these are people with very full plates. There is little general banter but the staff is very knowledgable in guiding a patient through the process. I subsequently met Dr. Roslin in the hall briefly when I went to speak with the nutritionist. He was very pleasant and we joked around briefly. I met him the morning of my surgery when he reviewed my medical tests and walked me through the process. I met Dr. Roslin at 7:00am the morning after my surgery for a few minutes and he assured me that everything went well. The visit was brief and there was little general banter. I felt great almost immediately after the surgery (see my detailed log in my profile). I attribute this to Dr. Roslin's exceptional talent as a surgeon as well as his recommendation that a lap band procedure might work well for me and that we can always do a more intrusive procedure if it did not. I'm a little disappointed that 4 days post-op no one from his office has called to schedule me for a post-op appointment or to ask how I'm doing (I finally called today and left a message). On balance, I would recommend Dr. Roslin and his office to everyone including my mother and best friend if the need arose!

I made my decision to have Dr. Roslin perform my surgery after attending a support group at Lenox Hill Hospital, that his practice runs. He is extremely knowledgable and very straightforward when discussing anything having to do with Gastric Bypass surgery. I could not be happier with my choice to have him as my surgeon and highly recommend him to anyone considering having Gastric Bypass.

I was very impressed with Dr. Roslin. He does three differnt type of surgeries, the rny, ds and lapband, and he spoke about the pro and cons of each of them. I loved his office, they have oversized seats, which I thought was very cool. I've been to another bariatric surgeons office and he had small tight fitting chairs. Dr. Roslin's staff was nice and helpful as well. I was impressed by Dr. Roslin's mortality late, which was extremely low. As I recall, the last patient they had lost due to complications was three years ago. Dr. Roslin is very too the point and honest. He answered all my questions and even responds to my emails in a timely manner.

When I first walked in to the office I was pleased to see how clean and elegant it looked, It was like walking in to a 5 star hotel lobby. The seating for us big people was amazing, it was a surprise to me because every time I go to any office I seem not to fit in any of their chairs. The staff was friendly, nothing out of the ordinary. Dr. Roslin explain all the operations and which are beneficial to certain people. I had my mind set on the Lap Band but after having my private consultation with Dr. Roslin, he explained why it wouldn't help me. I felt at ease it his explanation of the procedure, but with time I can't help but to feel afraid of actually going thru with it. In the waiting room everyone there shared they experienced good and bad and overall none of them expressed regret, they were just very happy and grateful that now they can do things that they just couldn't before. I really want to do it but I am really afraid of dying during the operation.

My first Impression of Dr. Roslin was a little Intimidating but over time I have he just Is very serious about what he does. He Is likeable and very full of knowledge. So far all the staff have been great and may be busy at times but him and his practice are worth the wait and by far have been the best that I havew consulted with. There Is nothing about him that I dislike and I love the fact that he emphasizes aftercare! It's a structured program/practice and he addresses all the risks and works with and not dictates to the patient about the surgery best for you. He was very supportive In my choice for the Open BPD/DS. I would rate Dr. Roslin a 10+++++++++++!!!!!! He has great surgical competence from what I can tell and I am sure his bedside manner will be just as great, I'll let you all know after my surgery!!!!

When I first met Dr. Roslin, I thought wow kinda young, but ok. Over time I realized he was the perfact Dr. for me. He is very into educating you, lots of information about the whole process from start to finish. You will never have to wonder what your surgery will be like he puts it right there in black and white for your review. The staff at the office are all very easy going down to earth and so, so helpful. When I first came home from the Hospital I must have drove Catherine crazy, but she was always helpful and polite. I like the fact that Dr. Roslin knows his stuff, he gets the job done, and will talk to you about any problems you might be faced with, and he gives it to you straight. For all furture patients my advice is if you are really ready for surgery, then Dr. Roslin is ready to help you, he is highly recommanded in the state of New York and I have several friends (about 3) besides my self whom he has performed surgery for and they are all doing great! At Dr. Roslin's office aftercare is the most important part of your surgery and they give you step by step details how to take care of yourself. The aftercare program is so structured you can't mess-up (unless you want too, you have to want to make the change in your life or don't bother). As far as the risk factors like I said before, at his office they tell you everything including all the risk factors (including death) and also send you home with written details in regards to the risk. Over all I think that Dr. Roslin and his team are the best, and am glad I selected them for such an important and difficult process in my life, they give me a new life and I thank God for sending me to his office and guiding his hands to perform a maricle that has changed my life forever. His sugical competence and bedside manner are both excellent! Sorry if this sounds suspect, but the treatment I received was 110% and I mean that from the heart, THANKS DR. ROSLIN AND THE WHOLE TEAM FOR BRINGING JOY BACK TO MY LIFE!

PRE-OP: I am very impressed with Dr. Roslin. He was very relaxed and funny when I met with him. He is very honest and straight forward about all the different procedures, risks, and restrictions post op. He doesn't do it to scare but to make sure you are making an informed decision.
POST-OP: I remain very impressed with Dr. Roslin. His years of experience and surgical skills make him one of the top bariatric surgeons in the country. Although he was often rushed in both the hospital and office settings, he remained friendly and willing to spend extra time, if needed, to address clinical issues. He has a good bedside manner when with you although visits are brief. However, he replys promptly to all email and runs outstanding monthly support groups.

Dr Roslin and his staff couldn't have been more helpful or made this complicated process any easier.

Dr. Roslin seemed confident, down to earth, and most importantly, competent. A small group was given a demonstration of the available procedures. It was straightforward, and pros and cons were addressed. Next we each met with our surgeon seperatly. The meeting was short, but again, direct. I was able to ask all of my questions, and then he gave his recommendation. I am now scheduled for laproscopic bypass on Jan. 28th! Aftercare was not discussed, so Im assuming this will happen at the hospital, prior to discharge.
Overall I have been treated very well so far.
