JourneyLite of Cincinnati Bariatric Center
He knows his stuff. He tells you how it is and can answer just about any question you have. I'm still getting to know him. I will ses him once more before the surgery on Dec 9th. He said I have to lose 30 lbs before the surgery and I'm seeing the dietition tomorrow. What I like the most it there are a team of people there working with you every step of the way. I will be able to tell you more after the surgery. So far I'm really glad I went to see this Doctor. I think you will be too.
Met Dr. Curry on Aug 15th at my consultation. He was very nice and friendly. I asked him if he was really the person who answered all of those posts on OH. And, he said he did. I am really impressed now. He thought I would be a good candidate for the lap band surgery. He thought I could lose 85-100 pounds. WOW-It is hard to imagine losing that much weight. Everyone at his office is wonderful-Charity, Erin, Tracy and the nurse-they were great. He has secured his office with a great support staff!! My surgery has been approved and is scheduled for Oct 3rd.
Dr. Curry appears much younger in person than his official photo. He seems very serious and dedicated. His office staff seem very nice though All in all, I am confident and happy with my experience thus far with the Deaconess Hospital. And the staff are all very patient and return my calls in a timely fashion.
My surgeon is Dr. Trace Curry. His office is in Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. I first met Dr. Curry in October of 2004. My surgery ,(an lap RNY), was June 28th. I have been in the health care field for over 10 years. Prior to choosing Dr. Curry I had seen 3 other surgeons. Initially I found Dr. Curry to be concerned but rather quiet. I am very critical of Doctors and therefore it is often hard for me to find one that I can trust. From the first visit I was astounded at the level of professionalism and the concern that blends into one of the finest Doctors I have ever known. I have called the office on numerous occasions and the staff is ALWAYS right there for me. He and his entire staff has always made me feel as though I was the only patient that he has. Fron working through the insurance issues to actually having a staff member drop off medication to my home on her way home, the entire center is absolutely dedicated to taking care of their patients.
The practice has an excellent pre/post care program and they also have an on-line site that you can post questions. I give Dr. Curry and his staff perfect 10's..Christie Howe
I changed doctors after getting my insurance approval. I was satisfied with the original surgeon I had, Dr Korelitz, and nothing he or his staff did was the reason for changing my doctor. After a little more research I found Dr Curry did all his procedures laproscopically and I felt this was a better option for me. His staff had my approval changed over to him in 1 day and everything is going quite well. The have a very thorough pre op program and seems that the post op program will be just as good. The other thing I like is that the doctor and all his staff are accessible via e-mail.
Dr. Curry and his staff were all very nice, I felt at ease right off, my former dr's office staff was cold and did not give me very much info on the procedure.
When choosing a dr. for this surgery everyone should have all answers to any questions or concerns and should be made to feel at ease.
He explained everything in detail even down to aftercare, my mom was in the room as well and he made us both feel very comfortable.
I had some testing done later and once again he and his staff were great.
I give him and his staff a 10
Before I even met Dr. Curry, I had heard many many positive things about him on ObesityHelp.com. He had a lot to live up to! And I am happy to say he exceeded expectations in all areas! I was lucky enough to meet with 4 surgeons in the area and really get a feel for their styles and practices. I was not willing to go with someone stiff and harsh with no bedside manner. I also was not willing to go with someone who would try to convince me that RNY was the best option for me. I wanted someone to listen to what I wanted, what would fit MY lifestyle and Dr. Curry did just that.
His office staff is equally as caring and helpful. I feel like I can be in constant contact with all of them via email and their internet message board and THAT is a huge plus for me. It is so frustrating to call a doctor and wait hours or days to hear back on a pressing question. I have not experienced this at all.
I have nothing negative to say. I feel lucky to be one of Dr. C's patients (and as of 7/8/2005, one his bandsters!) and would recommend him to anyone looking.
UPDATE: Now that I am banded, I can add an additional perspective to my experience with Dr. C. I am thrilled to say that my happiness with my decision grows with each interaction with him and his staff. The biggest testimonial to Dr. C's character comes from my mother and my husband. Neither were all that supportive of my decision and did not come to any of my "planning meetings" with Dr. C. and his staff. My mom has always been of the belief that a bigger hospital has more to offer and she must have asked me a million times "Are you sure that this is what you want?" However, all of those preconcieved notions have been cleared from her mind. After meeting Dr. C and having every single one of their (many) questions answered by him and seeing me treated so warmly by his staff, they now understand what a tremendous step toward my health this is. They further realize that I made a great decision (see, I always tell them I am a smart girl... thank you Dr. C. for proving that!) in both the surgery and the surgeon. We were treated FAR better at Deaconess than any "large hospital" in our area. Now it's up to me to continue to prove to them that this was the greatest decision to be made. Thanks Dr. C.!
He was very nice and friendly, and answered all my questions. His office staff is very friendly. He emphasizes aftercare, and yes he has a structured aftercare program..Yes,Dr.Curry did address the risks of surgery. I would rate him-very good-.I think surgical competence and bedside manner is both great to have.
I first met with Dr. Curry, and his staff in November of 2004. I had already heard wonderful things of Dr. Curry. After meeting him and the staff I understood why. They are all wonderful! I am so glad I made the decision to have Dr. Curry perform my surgery and to have him and his staff be there every step of the way during this new journey.
Several things I would like to point out. I am always able to contact Dr. Curry's office and am able to speak to someone. On few occassions I have left a message and they to call me back in a very short amount of time. Everyone is more than willing to answer any questions I might have. They're just an incredible group of people.
Before, the day of and after the surgery Dr. Curry, had a great bedside manner. He came in every day and answered any question I might of had, also letting me know how he thought things were going.
This was my first time having any type of surgery. I Certainly hope I never have to have any type of surgery again, but if I do, I hope that the surgeon and his/her staff is as great as Dr. Curry and his staff.
Thanks Dr. Curry, for giving me the tools I need to create a better life for myself!
