Jorge L. Rodriguez, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
Dr. Rodriguez is definitely tell it like it is kind of guy. He is very informative about the surgery and after the surgery! His office visits - plan on a long wait as he doesn't push you through, he treats you as a person and takes the time that you need... He told me of the risks of the surgery and gave me other options to consider. I used this as a last resort to weight loss. He took care of me as far as the military would let him. Dr. Rodriquez is an awesome surgeon and his bedside manners are just as good! He had an emergency phone number to call and they would page him to call you back... He usually got back to me within 20 minutes! rnrnIf I had to do it over again, I definitely would go back to Dr. Rodriguez as my first choice in Surgeons!
I think he is the best there is out there. I have had two surgeries with him. The RNY and hernia repair. He is the only one I would let work on me. He bed side manners were great. He checked on my daily. Office visits went well every time I went in. I have nothing bad to say about him or his office. Only it does take time to get in to see him because he is so busy. But, hey, that is normal with any doctor i think.
I met Dr. Rodrigues at the seminar I attended and liked him right off. He seemed to know what he was talking about. He should he teaches the lap band. I also found out he is a trauma surgeon at university hospital. He is very nice and was on tv talking about the lap band. I can say this for him he is very through with all his testing. I will see him again after all my tests are done. He is a no nonsence kind of man and I need that.
I am pre-op and awaiting insurance approval. Dr. Rodriquez is willing to answer any questions you have during the office appointment. He had a wonderful personality and seems to show a sincere concern for his patients and tells you exactly what to do each step of the way and what I can expect.rnI would recommend him to anyone interested in bariatric surgery or even learning more about bariatric surgery.rnOne thing people need to know is that the doctor is not available to telephone questions but can get questions answered by by the doctor via a medical assistant. (this was my experience)rnHe does require an aftercare program that is sturctured including visits, and being active in the aftercare program. rnrnI am 3 years out of surgery and I have recommended Dr. Rodriguez to numerous people. He is (in my opinion) on of the best in his field! If you are looking for a Dr. that REALLY CARES who not only operates but also teaches ...Dr. Jorge Rodriguez is an excellent choice!
This Dr is awesome, he tells it like it is and is a caring and wonderful surgeon. He deals in really high risk patients and I thank the good lord everyday for bringing me to this Surgeon. This review I orginally wrote in 2007 and its now 2012 and he saved my life I can now move around more easy it doesnt hurt my knees to walk Thank you Dr. Rodriquez for everything
Dr. Rodriguez seemed very to the point and easy to talk with. Somewhat hurried, but willing to answer any and all questions. During these past two years post-op I have learned that Dr. Rodriguez is not only highly skilled, and really cares for the success of his patients, but is also a highly skilled surgeon! I can say that both of the surgeries he has performed (lapband and gall bladder) were a breeze afterward with little or no pain afterward (which did surprise me).rnI highly recommend Dr. Rodriguez to anyone wanting gastric surgery...he IS the Best!rnDoc's aftercare is superior to most as he looks at where YOU are and works with YOU.rnAs for bedside manner...fantastic! As a matter of fact, I had an overbearing nurse tending to me after one of my surgeries and he took her aside and after that things WERE much better. Dr. Rodriguez gets FIVE STARS in my book!
