I had an awesome experience in Mexico. I had lap-band surgery on October 17 2007. The staff and the hospital are awesome!!!

There whole staff was great, they all spoke English very well. I had a patient Ad. who spoke fluent Spanish, so there were no communication problems... I would recommend them to anyone.

I got say that my Surgeoon's are all the best. At the Clinic Obesity Goodbye in Tijuan people are amazing, a lot of warmness of heart. My experience was so great that if have to doit again I will do with my eyes close. rnI found this place thrumy friend who had the surgery done. rnEverything there at the clinic was great, the drivers ( Carlos and Julio) Thanks a lot!-rnRocio and Beatriz welcomes you at the clininc an you feel inmeditely like at home. The doctors are so humble, so personable,...they visit me everyday at the clinic, call me at the hotel to see if I was okay. rnI'm so amaze with the great service and profesionalism with every single person at the clinic.rnThe doctors identifed so welll with me, with my situation. Very sweet people!rnMy overall rate from 100....I give them 99.9...just because there's no perefction in the world. =-)

My first impression of the Dr. was umm I didn't really have one, I saw so many people the day of my surgery and I was so nervous that I didn't really think too much about anything, sounds dumb I know but I just saw him as the person who was doing my surgery. I have gone in with some concerns and was at ease with the prompt response and concern that the staff at OH showed. They really tried to do whatever they could to ease my fears both pre and post op. My surgery went fine I had no complications. The Dr. did go over the risks with the surgery and I had an option as to which band I wanted, he showed me the different bands that his office used. I was really scared about going to T.J for my surgery, I had family who had surgery over there and were fine, that was my reason for also going. I dont regret my decision to have surgery with OBGB and I'd reccomend them to anyone. I can honestly say that Ive received better care in MX than I did here in the states.

Dr Verboonen and his staff are very professional and were able to answer all of my questions. They explain the risks and also emphasize that this is a tool not a magic pill. you have to follow the rules!. I had surgery on 7/13/06 the hospital was very clean; the recovery rooms are not super high tech but very adequate for this type of surgery. The operating room on the other hand looked just as high tech as any ive seen in the states so you certainly will be in good hands. The only slight negative is that the nursing staff does not always speak much English, I speak fluent Spanish so communication was not a problem for me, but something to consider. The hotel room they provided was great I had a beautiful view of the golf course, room service was very good. I am only a few days into this so haven’t needed any after care but they do have aonline forum monitored by the staff that you can join.rnI certainly have no qualms about recommending this doctorrn

Dr. Verboonen is a very loving and caring doctor...he takes the time to speak to you before and after surgery. And he has his staff do the same with you..even though the language communication is a little difficult, they will have someone there that can speak a little more english than them to help out. But Dr. Verboonen does not need a translator, he understands your needs and concerns being he has had the gastric band instered as well and has the knowledge of the ups and downs

Dr. V was a very nice man from day one. His office staff was helpful, but their english was not good so communication was difficult. The overnight stay hospital was very comfortable but lacked the staff who could understand the english language. This is not exceptable since 90% of their patients are Americans. Overall, I have been very pleased with my band and the surgery in general.

He gave a great first impression, he was very sympathetic and spoke about all the choices for lapbanding.. SAGB, Inomed and the Midband, I picked the one I wanted! He has a wonderful team that are very helpful to both patient and family!

Aftercare is more difficult than with an american based MD, since visits to Tijuana are required. But bith the MD and his team are available by telephone to discuss any issues that arrive. He offers a dietary program for peole to follow after surgery. He has had the surgery himself.

My spouse a Registered Nurse watched the procedure and was impressed with the skills of the surgeons.

Overall a great team that did a good job
