Lovely man, good English. Gentle and accommodating. No problems with surgery and I believe him to be an excellent surgeon.

Dr. V was wonderful. He is very personable, speaks good English, and seemed very relaxed. He even visited with me and talked about his family, cruises, food, etc. He answered all my questions prior to surgery and explained things very well. I was very comfortable under his care and trusted him fully to do a great job, which he did. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery. He is a great one!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr.V and his group. Dr. Ponce de Leon also but I don't know how to add him as a surgeon as well. They all came to see me daily and make sure everything was going well. I came 3000 miles and never regret a moment. Very impressed with the staff at the Clinic and INT. I hope the clinic can move closer to INT someday. That would be the only thing that I would suggest. Caring, clean and there in an instant when you need them. I was impressed for sure. Lana's recovery house was the best thing for me too. Just like being at home with family. I loved the whole experience.

Hi everyone,rn I Had VSG on March 17,09 by Dr. Verboonen in Tijuana.rn I first met Dr. Verboonen at the ObesityGoodBye Center where I had all the pre op testing done. He reassured me with his kindly and caring personality. He is empathetic to the bariatric pt as he himself was once one. He is a very knowledgeable doctor with a great bedside manner.rn His staff seemed to genuinely like him which, as a RN myself, I know speaks volumes.rnHis staff both at the ObesityGoodBye center and the INT hospital were very professional and caring. They actually ran to answer the call bells, wow! rn Both facilities were spotless and there was always someone cleaning. All staff were very nice. I only had one nurse who could not speak English but Dr. Verboonen had given me a list of medical translations which helped. However there was always someone available who spoke English. Dr. Verboonen and the other docs spoke excellent English.rn I stayed with Lana Humphries who is a prior bariatric pt. from Louisiana. She liked Tijuana so much she moved there and now she has opened her home to pts of Dr. Verboonen's. Her home, so comfortable and beautiful, is located in a gated community. She provides all the transportation fr. airport to clinic, etc. She will even take you sightseeing. Her very down to earth, friendly and caring personality automatically puts you at ease.rn The after care has been terrific, I email any questions and get a response within a few hours. I have had no complications even considering the humongous hernia they found and repaired.rn The whole experience was more than what I ever could have hoped. My only regret was that I didn't stay longer to do more sightseeing, take advantage of the spa next door or some plastic surgery. rn This was the best thing I have done in my life, I don't know what I was waiting for.rnSincerely,rnDarlene rn

His English was broken, but understandable. The office staff were helpful, enjoyable to be around and very helpful with questions I had concerning the tests, procedures and anything else I came up with. rn The location of the office was a bit to be desired though it was very close to the border. Dr. Verboonen himself now has a band and is a bit smaller than when I first met him. rn Aftercare is just a click or phone call away if you want to fly to Tijuana. His office has even gotten me in when I forgot to call ahead. rn His explaination of the surgery was through and he even went into detail with the different bands available, he never pressured me as to which one to choice and showed me why each one was unique. rn The rating would have to be top notch for Dr. Verboonen, office staff and the hospital. As for bedside manner or curgical competence, they were both grand!

I met Dr. V and he was very pleasant. All of the other members of the surgical team was there also. I was very impressed with how clean and organized the clinic was. I liked how the doctors chipped in if the nurses were busy. They did not act like they were too good to do take a blood pressure. They were extremely knowledgeable about many of the bands and different procedures. The hospital was so comfortable. It was a small hospital so it didn't feel like the nurses were too busy to help me. They were very quick to respond to my every call. Others were constantly cleaning. The rooms were very modern, but homey. The doctors visited very often which made me feel like they weren't \"too busy\" to see me. They took their time answering my questions and made sure I understood. I was very happy with my surgery and the care I received.rnThe only thing I could complain about would be that not all of the surgeons were able to speak English so one of the nurses had to translate. And since there were 6 of us patients in the clinic at the same time, the nurses were confused as to our names because they did not put any kind of identification on us. I suggested that they at least use name tags to make it easier for the nurses.rnI will not have to go back to Mexico for followups as the surgeons travel to Baton Rouge every few weeks to meet with their American patients. But I would like to see them come to a more centralized location for those further North.

The entire staff at ObesityGoodbye very friendly and caring. You feel this from the minute you walk in the door. A majority of the staff speaks english and there is not a language barrier. Dr. Verboonen himself is very well spoken and knowledgeable of his profession. Aftercare is well documented as Dr. Rios, Dr. Fryre or Betty will call and check on you. All practice good bedside manner. Julio, the driver, was very accomodating and helpful. I strongly recommend this surgeon
