Houston Obesity Surgery Bariatric Center
Well I spoke with Dr. Nowzaradan on 11/18/2004 and he was very sweet. He answered all my questions and I feel very confident about him. He's just he cutest thing, a little man with suspenders on his scrubs. Very gentle when looking at and palpating scars from previous surgeries.
Dr. Nowzaradan appeared very knowledgeable and answered questions during the information session in a clear consice manner.
On the day of my surgery Dr. Nowzaradan came to me before hand and asked if I had any questions and just talked to me for awhile. That helped me relax and after the surgery he was very gentle and compassionate with me. I will see him again for my checkup on 12/11/2004.
I thought my surgeon was very informative and very pleasant
they haven't changed is very caring and takes time to listen to me
his staff was wonderful they were their the whole way i could call at anytime and they were their
only one time the night before the surgery he made wait but it was a good excuse i was just nervous .
that he is a good doctor and they should be able to trust their doctor.
he is very strong minded about my after care he was very precise about what i should do.
yes he has a support group.
during the seminar he told us about the risk and that we should be very aware of what we were going to do.
I would rate him a 10. both sugical and bedside manner were great.
My first impression he seemed distant, but over time he became very warm and friendly. Most of the Doctor's office staff is friendly. But keep in mind they are extremly busy so you may have to wait a little longer than you'd like. I was put in contact with Dr. Nowzardan through Obesity Surgery Specialists. They work very hard in contacting your insurance company and ensuring the process goes as smoothly as possible. Now 7 months out I continue to get support through a support group set up by them. They assist you with classes prior to the surgery, information and check-ups after the surgery. THIS IS MY PERSONAL IMPRESSION OF MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIANCE. I AM MAKING NO STATEMENT ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY EXPERIANCE!!!!
I was introduced to Dr. Nowzaradan through Liv-Lite in Houston. He was one of two surgeons working with the Liv-lite program. I preferred the other surgeon's bedside manner but Dr. N was obviously knowlegeable and capable. Dr. N was also willing to accept the fee structure from my insurance company, something the other doctor would not do and would have required and additional $3000 to perform the surgery.
22 days post op I am glad Dr. N was my surgeon. I have had no post-op issues thus far. My one complaint was that besides the day of surgery I never saw Dr. N until my discharge 4 days later. Not that there were any issues for him to address but I would have liked to have spoken to him after the surgery and discuss my progress during those first few days. I did have a nephrologist who saw me daily and addressed any questions I had and he was in daily contact with Dr. N. For the record, if I had to do this again, I would pick Dr. N.
Actually Younan Nowzardan operated. He is great- I owe him one! He is so friendly and chatty and I remember seeinf his face alst before my anestisia kicked in. HE called to check on me the day after I got home and he came and checked on my in my hospital room. He is a rookie, but he was wonderful! THank you!

I met Dr. Nowzaradan, he is quite plesant. He is am older man who wears scrubs and suspenders. You can never go wrong with a man who wears suspenders. He told me all about the surgery and the risks involved. He told me the good and the bad. He says I am a good canidate for the surgery. He has his billing department submit my request for surgery to Humana the very next morning.
MY 1st impression was that he is very knowledgeable about this procedure. He was very informative of the cons b/c everyone always research and learn things about the pros of WLS. His office staff is very kind and friendly(especially Rosie). The only unfavorable thing is his timing - he is always at the hospital performing surgery or helping other surgeons in sugery(which isn't really bad)which sometimes force him to get to his office appts. late in the evening, but there is a pro(he's open on the weekend).
Future patients should know that overall he is a very outstanding surgeon, but you most have patience when it comes to seeing him for aftercare. His aftercare is not structured but he do emphasize on it for your blood work and checkups, etc. I would rate Dr. Nowzaradan with an A(not +)only b/c he doesn't have a structured aftercare program. He is very good with both surgical competence, and bedside mamers.
DR. NOWZARADAN IS THE BEST!!!!!! HE SAT ME DOWN AND EXPLAINED ALL ASPECTS OF THE SURGERY TO ME. HIS NURSE ROSIE HANDLED ALL INSURANCE WOES AND I FINALLY GOT APPROVED. HE DID MY PROCEDURE LAP AND I HARDLEY HAVE ANY SCARS!!!! WHAT I REALLY LIKE ABOUT DR. NOWZARADAN IS THAT HIS CLINIC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK!!!!! HE IS NOT THERE 7 DAYS A WEEK BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A VERY COMPETENT PHYSICIAN THERE IN CASE YOU INCOUNTER ANY QUESTIONS...... THANKS FOR THE NEW ME DR. NOWZARADAN!
THE ONLY NEGATIVE CONCERNING DR. NOWZARADAN IS BECAUSE HE IS A GENERAL SURGEON HIS PRACTICE IS NOT LIMITED TO BARIATRICS, HE HAS NO AFTER CARE PROGRAM...........
