So far I have only had the one appt. with them so I dont really know them all very well.

i have only had one consult with him so far but i was very pleased.
holzer has a manatory aftercare program.
his staff was very helpfull.
1/26/03 I met Dr Grandia at my initial consult on 1/07/03. He is a very concerned, forthright individual. He was not the least bit bashful about admitting to me that he has done only 6 RNY procedures to date. That gave me pause for a minute, but continuing to talk with him put me at ease, at least I know he'll be conscientious during surgery because this procedure is new to him. He really put me at ease with his confidence in the entire program at Holzer, especially the aftercare treatment. All in all, I think I will have a very good Dr-Patient relationship with him.
Dr. Grandia appears to be professional and qualified. Also, a warm person. I liked him.
My impression has remained positive. His staff is great.he does have a structured aftercare program. He certainly addressed the risks of surgery but recommended I still have it because my weight would only get worse. I would rate him an 8 at present.
5 days after surgery. Dr. Grandia visited with me often in the hosp, even on his day off. He was concerned about how I was doing and explained things well to my family after surgery and to me while I was recovering. Right now, I'd give him a 10.
It is 7 days since surgery. The clinic has called twice to check up on me. Dr. Grandia specifically asked his nursing staff to call as he wanted to follow up. I see him in 6 days to have my staples removed. I am so impressed with the Holzer Clinic and Dr. Grandia in particular.
Dr. Grandia and his office staff were great! They all made me and my husband feel very comfortable. The atmosphere is upbeat and genuine. Each person that I saw (secretary, nurse, surgeon, dietitian, counselor) spent a lot of time with us and answered our questions fully and honestly. No one acted rushed or impatient when answering our many questions. Aftercare is provided monthly and patients are encouraged to start attending their support group prior to the surgery. My biggest concern was the reviews found in Obesityhelp.com about the nursing services in the hospital (generally are not complimentary). I told Dr. Grandia about the reviews and he asked that I take him a copy of the reviews (which I did). He stated he knew that there were problems previously (Holzer has been doing this surgery only about 2 years) and he voiced gratitude that I brought him the complaints: he said he would check into them and I have total trust that he will. (As a matter of fact, a friend of mine recently had surgery there and was very pleased with the nursing service so the needed education of the staff must have occurred. Overall, to date, I rate Dr. Grandia and his staff highly and hope that my surgical experience will also be pleasant.
I had my initial consult with Dr Grandia on Jan 7, 2003. He seems to be a very caring and honest doctor. He did not hesitate to tell me he has performed only 6 Roux en Y surgeries so far, (which I find impressive.) After all everybody has to start somewhere. AND I'm sure he will be extra careful during surgery(IF I am approved!) just because this is a somewhat new procedure for him. My concerns are somewhat relieved due to the fact that he will have either Dr Canady or Dr Stone assisting the surgery with him. So I am pretty much at ease with his lack of experience.
The staff is very caring and warm, helpful and informative. Aftercare and longterm care is very much emphasized, I know I won't be left out on my own after the surgery.
Just wish me luck with my ins approval. Hope I hear something soon.
If any of his other patients would like to contact me, I sure could use their advice. My email address is [email protected]. Please feel free to write me.

I haven't met Dr. Grandia yet. Paula told us how very nice he was. He took time to get to know her and to answer all her questions.
My first impression of Dr. Grandia was he just such a nice person. Soft spoken and kind. The staff also reflected his same manner. He answered all my questions and encouraged my questions.
Dr. Grandia is a very personable person. Very knowledgeable about the surgery and what is detailed. Staff very caring. After care is very important to him. He stresses the importance of being able to follow what he reccomends for a safe recovery. Holzers has a very intense after care program established. He went over all the risk that are involed with WLS. He has a great bed side mannor and is very through.
I liked him right from the start, he was very positive and informative. My original doctor was to be his associate Dr Stone, but personally I believe everything happens for a reason..and for some reason Dr Grandia was meant to be my physician. The staff is wonderful at Holzer, they are all absolutely wonderful. Everything about Dr Grandia and the entire staff in his office, and at the hospital were truely a Godsend to me. I'm only 7 days post op, and very sore, and still wondering why did I do this...but he told me it would be like this..and he was right..and I'm feeling better every day.
