TriHealth Weight Management Bariatric Center

I liked him from the start. He seems like a genuinely compassionate man. Even little things that I normally would not like (like a pat on the hand)just made me think that he was a gentle doctor. Some surgeons seem to have this complex or something, that they are the end-all. Not Dr. K nor any of his interns (I hope they pay attention to details like the Dr. K does). His approach is not nearly as structured as some. He leaves alot of the responsibility up to you (finding web-sites, support groups). I really like that. But don't misunderestand, if you have questions, the man will answer them. He is not judgemental but he is a straight-shooter. I feel lucky to have had him as my surgeon. He told me about some fatalities and why they happened. When my family came in for my last pre-op visit, they questioned him as weell. He answered openly. When my sister asked about my risk he clearly stated that due to my high BMI, I was at moderate risk. No sunshine blown up anyone's skirt. Just the facts, ma'am. The only thing I would have liked, was a little more time with him in the hospital. He answered everything I asked, but he makes his rounds early and sometimes I wasn't too awake. But the man is busy and good. His time, I think, is very well spent! He was late for one appt I had, and apologized several times. An emergency came up and he was detained. I not only understand that, but appreciate the fact he reacted and took care of the emergency issue. I rate him a 9.

I met with Dr. kerlackian today. His staff seems very professional. I spoke with the pharmacist, a resident surgeon, then the Dr. himself. When I spoke with each of them, they took their time to explain, and never rushed. They told me of risks and complications that could occur and stressed this operation was a major surgery, and I needed to make a commitment for the rest of my life after the surgery.
Dr. Kerlackian gave me a chance to ask questions. i felt very comfortable with him.
I trust he will do a good job.,. I woudl rate him a 10 out of 10. He didnt make me wait an hour like most drs..lol and when he did do the consultation he was very honest and forthright which I find refreshing. I dont like schmoozie drs that remind you of car salesmen. Dr K seemed very genuine and professional that is a big plus. these are just my impressions, but you must make your own

I have all good things to say about Dr Kerlakian and his staff. I met with him about 2 weeks ago and appreciated his honesty. He did not pull any punches about the risks. He has been very thorough making sure I am physically ready for surgery.Right now I rate him 9/10. I will update after I have the surgery. Of course his surgical competence is what I am interested in. If I put my life in his hands I want to know he has a steady hand not a comical wit.
After surgery, I rate Dr Kerlakian 10/10. He is skillful, compassionate, and a wonderful doctor. I had complications post surgery and the care he took probably saved my life. I am home and they continue to be careful with the progress I make.

I haven't met Dr Kerlakian yet but I've heard many great things about him. I see him on June 23rd, maybe sooner!! I do have a new date to see Dr. K, its June 9th, right around the corner.....
June 9th, 2003 Met Dr K today, felt very confidant he will do a great job. I know he will take good care of me. I feel even better that Im doing this.
I have a date.....July 28th...wooohooo I have a date!!!

My first impression of Dr. Kerlakian was that he wanted to make sure this is something you truly wanted to do and it was a good choice for you. My father and I both feel confident in leaving my welfare in his hands on 6/23/03. Dr. Kerlakian's nursing and office staff treated me great. They are so understanding and did not make me feel as if I was a failure since I need the surgery. Even his nurse made me feel better by not thinking I weighed as much as I do. There really isn't anything I do not like about Dr. Kerlakian. He was very open about the three deaths he has had due to complications of the surgery or other issues that arised after. I would definitely rate him at least a 9 out of 10. I see him again on the 28th of May.
My husband finally met Dr. K and he felt very easy around him. Michael feels a lot better once talking to the doctor. He even entertained a picture with me for my scrapbook, what a doc.

Dr. Kerlakian was straightforward and no nonsense. That was my first impression and my last. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The doc is easy to talk to and open to questions.
Don't expect to have your hand held though, you need to do your own research and find out through websites, contacts, etc. what things are really like.
Not much emphasis to aftercare but I'm not sure I needed it.
He was very upfront about the risks and presented them honestly.
An excellent surgeon.
I would rate competence higher than bedside manner. While it is nice to feel taken care of, I'd rather feel sure that he really know what he's doing.

My first impression of the doctor was a very good one. He seems really informative, his bedside manner is good. He talks about the pro's as well as the con's so I felt as though I was well informed.
The office staff has been fairly friendly so far. Overall I would rate him thus far a 8.5. Not much I would improve at this point. However, I am still a pre op and need more interaction with him to give any really good information to others. I like him thus far!
