Dr. Ponce was very impressive... His office staff was also very nice and would answer any questions you have or had.. Dr. Ponce emphasizes aftercare and has programs located in alot of places so you do not have to drive or fly back to him . He did tell you about the risks involved but compared to the risks of not doing it was so much higher.. I liked that he would talk to you and answer anything you asked.... even about his background... I would rate him a 10 on first impressions.... tell you more about bedside manners after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Ponce and his staff to anyone....After meeting with Dr. Ponce I was not able to get a date with him so I took the first available with Dr. Fromm.
He is also very wonderful. I met with him and he answered the rest of my questions that I needed. I would recommend him or really anyone in this office.

Very knowledable of the procedure. Very agreealbe with the Dr. speaking at the seminar. Seemed to want to clarify any answers to questions that may not be totally clear. Wanted you to be well informed. Excited about his work in this field. We'll see what more we can say in a week When I speak with him personaly at consultation.
Brooke was who I spoke with outside of the seminar as everyone was leaving. Very polite and helpful.She is his nurse. She has had lap band herself lost 100+ pounds and kept it off 3yrs.

Well, I am new to all of this but after much research I have scheduled my appointment for the Lap Band surgery. However I am a little concerned because the office scheduled the surgery without ever seeing me. They have my consult for the day before my surgery. I have done a lot of background checks and research on the surgeons in this group and have heard nothing negativeand everything has checked out. I am calling tomorrow to insist that I meet with the doctor before the day before my surgery.

He was very nice and took a lot of time to answer mine and my husband`s question`s,and exlained everthing throughly.
It got even better,he was very caring,he kept me overnight in the hospital because my knee twisted durning surgery and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to me,and all of the nurses were ver kind and helpful.
His staff is very caring and they are always asking how you are doing and telling you to keep up the good work.
I love eveything about him.He says to watch yourself very carefully,one of my stitches got abcessed and he told me to come straight to his office so he could look at it and make sure everything was ok.He made sure I knew eveything that could possibly happen.

When he visited me in recovery, he peeked in with the warmest, cutest smile. He is so great. Words can't describe how much I like him. He has performed hundreds of lap band surgeries, and I feel he is the expert in the U.S. How lucky I am that he practices so close to my hometown. His staff is wonderful. His nurse, Brooke Lindsey, has lost 160 lbs. with the lap band. She had surgery in August, 2001. They both explained every facet thoroughly-surgical procedure, expectations for post-op, risks (minimal), after care, etc. I can't wait to see them in six weeks. Dr. Ponce's surgical competence and bedside manner were both EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!

I met Dr.Paynter on 2/19/04,and I loved him he answered all of my question`s and showed me the actual band and even put some saline in it to show me how it looks when they do a fill.He said that I was a great candiate for the surgery and that he would write me a good letter and send it to the insurance company he has dealt with Accordia National before and he said they are easy to deal with,and he said he believes they will not give me any trouble.So now I am awaiting approval,his nurse said it might take up to 8 weeks for them to approve it,but I am go to call and make sure they get it and bug them so maybe they will hurry it along.

I have changed Dr.s due to the insurance we have. I am now seeing Dr. Ponce. I really did like him alot. He is very easy to talk to. He answers all your questions and doesn't rush you through. The office staff was very nice as well. The PA Amanda is a sweet heart. She answered many of my questions before I even saw Dr. Ponce. I have to say I am very comfortable with my switch. I have no regrets at all. The office was furniture big enough for big people. I am so tickled to have got my first consult done. I am now looking forward to the day I have my surgery. I feel very confident in Dr. Ponce. I have no worries what so ever. I trust him completely. I would recommend him to anyone.

dr.ponce was very nice and caring.no my impression has not changed.the staff is excellent,and very helpful. i cannot say ther was one thing i did not like sbout him. the rest of these questions i will answer after surgery

He was very nice and explained the surgery well. He explained to me things I would need to change about my current level of diet and exercise. His staff are very friendly, one of them (that I know of) has also had the surgery.
