Fairview Southdale Weight Loss Surgery Bariatric Center
Dr. Paul Benn:rnMy first impression of him was that he was a very careing person. He did a wonderful presentation of just what he was going to do and what happens during surgery. He knew what he was talking about and he wanted me to feel that he had his best intrest in me while he was doing surgery. His office staff is just wonderful people. They make you feel good about yourself and their freindly and knowledgeable and are good at their work. always there willing to help with anything, and questions are answered good. I would recommend him highly to anyone he is a very kind person. Aftercare is really pushed and rnhighly talked about and is encouraged a great deal.aftercare programs seem approperityly.rnI would rate him a 9 to 10 he made me feel so good about my choices and is willing to go on this journey with me.I have not had the surgery yet but I have heard alot of good references about his work .I was impressed with him totally. Bedside manner is always important no matter who you see. and he has it. he's very kind. both is always a plus and i feel like i found someone who had both. thank you
He seemed friendly with good sense of humor; he laughed easily and wasn't afraid of questions even the hard questions. I felt even better about him when he allowed me to meet with him a second time to ask more questions. He encouraged my questions and seemed generally pleased that I had done more research.
His office staff is very friendly and open--answering all questions and inquires quickly. They are very good about their follow up as well--I don't feel as if I have been "left hanging". The practice has a structured aftercare program--prior to surgery you attend a pre-op surgery class. When the office sends you this pre-op package in the mail it has all your follow up appointments listed as well as material that will be gone over in the class.
With regard to risks of surgery--Dr. Benn answered them with honesty and without hesitation.
I believe him to be a good surgeon or else I would not allow him to operate on me. He doesn't shake hands but that is okay--I hope that is his way of taking care of his hands. In my lifetime I have been on the receiving end of some pretty bone shattering handshakes. Let's put it this way--I don't want anyone giving him a bone shattering handshake on the eve of my surgery.
Dr. Benn was a great surgeon! He was straight forward with everything about the surgury, he took the time to answer all my questions. Dr. Benns office staff was great they were all very supportive and had lots of imformation and truely cared about me as a person.I would definitely recommand Dr. Benn to anyone thinking of having Wls.
I was really impressed with Dr. Benn the first time I met with him, when I had problems with my insurer, he still encouraged me to continue pursuing the surgery with or without using him as my surgeon. Once my insurance approved the procedure and his program, he personnally called me to discuss the surgery and what type of procedure I wanted, laproscopic or open.
I am also very impressed with his office staff, they are very caring and helpful whenever I call in with questions.
Paul benn is very professional and explain me how look like weight loss surgery many information. I hope he will wrote on insrunce send as soon.. I hope approve possible.Very nice, helpful, but to the point nothing Did a GREAT job and does a great job for all! A special team of professionals are there to see at different intervals Yes, structured Came right out and told the honest truth. Excellent Dr. and Surgeon.:-)
My first impression of him was he was cute. Very caring and understanding. He compleatly put my mind at ease. He was awesome. The more I talked to him the more I liked him. I really liked the office staff they were great. I can't think of anything that I did not like about Dr Benn. After care is essential to him. He explained all of the risks of the surgery. I would give him a 10+ in overall care. His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great. One thing that I did not really like is the fact that he and his staff are new and because of that there has been a bit of a problem with the insurance. For instance I have MA and it was difficult submitting it because the guidelines were not clear and the office staff is so new to this they have never submitted to MA.
At 5 months out what I can say that I really like about my doctors program is that it has the middle ground of structure. They are pretty flexible, always willing to listen and answer any questions. If you have any health problem they are there for you 24/7. But there is not a ridged follow up, which I personally love. After the inital follow up you then see the doctor at 3 months and then not again until 6 months.
Dr. Benn is a wonderful surgeon that takes the time to listen to you . His staff has been very helpful since I had my surgery, their aftercare program is very structuredwith diet and exerise and always drink plenty of water his surgical competence and bed side manner were both great, I would reconmmend this group to anyone having this surgery
Dr. Benn was very informative. He seemed genuine and very interested in what i thought and felt. He asked me numerous questions and was patient when i asked for clarification. When he found out my hubby was in the lobby, he said i could go find him and bring him in...he then recapped everything and brought Jim up to speed! His PA, Deb V., was very good! She has her presentation down pat. She was able to answer all of my questions and was really in tune with how i was feeling. Will add more after sx.
