Dr Pierce made this so much better than it could have been. I loved the way he takes a personal approach on the whole thing, making sure that you understand everything that is going to go on. I also think that he emphasized the after care more than most do - at least, that is my impression. Overall, a great guy, fantastic surgeon, and I would recommend him again and again.
Dr. Pierce is the BEST! He was warm and caring. He was funny and realistice. He was great to work with. Since surgry I had one complication and he personally called me @ 12M to talk to me and make a plan of action. I would recommded him to anyone! My only negative was I had to go home with a drainage tube, but he has good reasons!
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Pierce the first time I met him. He continues to be just as personable with each fill which he does himself. The staff at the office could not be more helpful or nice. They left no question un-answered or piece of information out.
I was nervous the first time I met Dr. Pierce. He knew that I was and was very calming and assuring. He has a caring nature that overflows! His staff was great and SO helpful to make sure my questions were answered. Dr. Pierce and staff made sure that I was well aware and understood every aspect of RNY. They emphasized how important after care was and that this was only a tool and that I had to use it right. My husband was impressed with Dr. Pierce also. The only thing that I was disappointed with is that I wasn't able to see him and talk to him before I left the hospital. He was so busy that a colleague came to discuss things with me. But over all I am completely satisfied with Dr Pierce and the staff! I would recommend them to anyone!!
Dr. Benn was one of the most easy going, to the point surgeon I have ever met. He was professional, but so congenial.rnThe clinic (Fairview Weightloss Clinic) was so comfortable & welcoming. The staff are ALL wonderful. I feel I have made friends with them all. rnThe surgeon & staff are their every step of the way. Education is their focus & everyone of my questions, no matter how silly were answered. rnThe surgery of course was my focus, but after care was what this clinic focus's on. Support meetings, before & after surgery. Pamplets full of questions & answers, help line for after hours. Some of the staff had the surgery & were so comforting in telling me about their journey & what to expect. rnThe surgery was always a matter of seriousness, & in now way dd I feel like I was a number or just another patient. Not once did I feel as if I was being pushed or pulled to do something that I was not ready for. The risks were discussed but labored upon, nor were the passed over as silly or non existant. rnFrom the first day I made the appointment to the last day in the hospital, I felt like I was their only patient. The hospital staff was remarkable, & so caring. I would recommend Fairview & Dr. Benn to anyone/everyone. rnI'm in aftercare now & even at a month & a half out they still keep in touch, & schedule post op visits, information meetings & send me updated information via mail.
Dr. Benn is amazing in his competent knowledge and improvements for WLS. He is very 'genuine' when explaining the procedure and post-effects from surgery. He allows 'stupid' questions, and is approachable while being so professional and not at all intimidating. On a scale of one to ten, I rate him as fifteen! The FVSD aftercare program is excellent! There's positive, informative support from his medical assistant, a wonderful nutritionist, plus physical therapist to ensure we know the program, what's expected of the individual after attaining this invaluable tool for life and body transformation.
Dr. Benn and his team of surgical PAs were great. The anesticians were also very helpful. I have hardly *any* signs of the surgery externally, thanks to the laproscopic method. Two snaps for Dr. Benn and everyone at Fairview Southdale's inpatient surgical unit! The care while inpatient was top notch, save one overnight shift...
