I first met Dr. Dyer at the Bariatric Surgery Seminar at Centennial Hospital almost one year ago. I then went online and looked up his profile. I learned that Dr. Dyer was exceptionally educated, trained and experienced in preforming laporascopic bariatric surgery. In addition, the patience he exhibited during the seminar concerning all of the questions posed him also impressed me. When I had finally met my insurance requirements to procede with my surgery, I met with Dr. Dyer for my pre-surgery consultation and I was very pleased with the time he spent answering my questions, concerns and fears, in addition to explaining all of the bariatric surgery options available to me. He and his staff have been very supportive throughout my bariatric surgery experience. My surgery was May 10th and the surgery went well without complications. I could not believe that I was going home just 2 days post surgery. I have continued to follow Dr. Dyer's specific instructions and I am progressing well. Certainly, I would recommend Dr. Dyer and his team for your bariatric surgery.

Dr. Dyer was the surgeon who done my seminar and I know before had he was the surgeon I wanted. My impression is still the same he is a great surgeon. The office staff are all great they have been most helpful.rnFuture patients should know Dr. Dyer has your best at heart and I believe he will do what he can to help you. His after care program is wonderful. He brings you in for visits and he wants you to use all the aids he has in place, like dietation, exercise specialist and a psy. group. He told me all the risk of surgery even though I was a nurse. He is great overall in what he does and they way he tries to help his patients.

I first saw Dr Dyer at the Bariatric Surgery seminar. I was impressed with his patience with the many questions and his subtle sense of humor. When I finally had my surgery consult, I was amazed at how much time he spent with me explaining my options and his support for my decision of what kind of surgery to have. He has always explained everything to me, and always gives me an opportunity to ask questions. Before my surgery, he let me know of the risks but I always felt comfortable with Dr Dyer as my surgeon. After my surgery, he again spent time with me explaining what he did and why. The time that he spent with me meant a lot, and he seems to go out of his way to make me comfortable and keep me informed.rnDr Dyers office staff is always friendly and helpful. They have kept me informed of the insurance status and supported me while I jumped thru the hoops the insurance company set up until I finally received approval. rnDr Dyer stresses the aftercare program, and reviews that with me each appointment. I also have opportunities to meet with my dietician and exercise physiologist or they keep in contact with me, returning calls or email quickly.rnDr Dyer is an excellent physician and surgeon, and I will always be greatful for the healthy lifestyle change he is helping me achieve. rn

I first visted Dr Dyer and his staff on Feb 16, 2007. They were all wonderful and so sincere. During that visit, Dr Dyer discussed the different types of weight loss surgery and the pros and cons of each. I took my mom so she could also learn about the life changing experience I was about to face. After meeting with Dr Dyer, I chose to have the Lap Band Surgery. That day, we schedulded my surgery date. Dr Dyer spoke to me about the aftercare program and how important it is to stay focused on you lifetime commiment. His staff was so helpful in helping me get ready for my surgery that was scheduled for May 3, 2007. rnrnApril 28. 2007: I started my fluid ONLY diet 7 days prior to surgery and boy was that tough!!!! After about the 3rd day, it wasn't so bad. I wasn't hungry anymore. The day before surgery was clear liquids ONLY, now that was kinda of tough. We booked a hotel room in Nashville, because I had to be at the hospital so early the next morning and we had 3 hour drive from home. My mom and I drove up the morning before so I could get preregistered at the hospital. My husband and my dad were coming later that evening. Later that afternoon, I had to drink that magnism citrate (there are no words to describe how terrible it is). I didn't sleep much that night because I had so many mixed emotions. I was excited that my life was about to change for the better, but scared to death that something might go wrong. rnrnMay 3, 2007: The BIG DAY is finally here. I get to the hospital at 5:30am and get checked in. Next they take me to pre-op and there I wait to see Dr Dyer. I was so nervous wondering what was about to happen that I just kept my eyes closed the entire time I was in pre-op. Then, Dr Dyer came to see me before I went to surgery and I felt at ease that he and his staff was going to take good care of me. After they rolled me in the OR, I don't remember anything after that until I got to my room. Boy was I sick then. I was so nausea and had lots of pain in my stomach. The nurses on my floor were wonderful!!!! They kept me as comfortable as they could. I am usually always sick after any surgery from the anthesia, so that was nothing new to me, but it's still the pits!!!!!!! After that, it wasn't too bad. I didn't get much sleep during the night since they had to keep a check on my blood pressure all during the night. The next morning, Dr Dyer came in and said I was ready to go home!!!!! Wha Who!!!!! I was READY!!! rnrnFor the next 7 days, I slept in the recliner. My Post-op wasn't too bad except for the GAS!!!!!! Dr Dyer told me that my left shoulder would probably hurt. DID IT EVER!!!!! Sunday and Monday after my surgery on Thursday, I literally thought I was going to DIE it was so bad. I had to take pain medicine pretty often those few days. My husband said there was several nights that I cried my self to sleep. That was the worst part of my entire experience, so far!rnrnI went for my 1 week post-op visit and guess what? I had lost 16 lbs already. Now I'm finally getting to eat real food (not just liquid).rnrnI want to thank Dr Dyer and his wonderful staff for helping me to become a healthier person and walk with me through this life changing experience. I would do it all over again tommorow.

Dr. David Dyer seemed to be very caring and knowledgeable in his field. He was willing to help me in any way to acheive this surgery. His office staff is caring and professional. They did not seem to judge and was very knowledgeable in how to help. Should anyone choose Dr. Dyer to help them through weight loss surgery, they should know that they are in very capable hands. He stresses that this is only a tool to help in losing the excess weight and constantantly advises keeping in touch with the dietitian, help groups and to exercise. Dr. Dyer advised of all the surgery risks and explained in detail what could go wrong. I think he is a wonderful physician and would send others to him for help. i feel completely at ease with him and feel i can discuss issues with him and he will take the time to listen to me.

I actually met Dr. Dyer at my wife’s surgical consult. Even though I have just started this journey, he has been a great asset for me and my wife. I like his demeanor for truth, the compassion he has for his patients, and the genuine desire to help everyone, I can’t wait until I have my surgical consult in the future.

Dr Dyer is an excellent doctor. He is very thorough at covering all the options and the risks of surgery. I had my Lapband surgery in November 2006 and have lost 40 pounds. Dr Dyer has been very supportive and concerned about how I am doing. He hasn't ever rushed when I am in the office for a check-up, so he gives me plenty of time for questions. The office staff is very friendly. I have highly recommended him to others and will continue to do so because he is a very skilled surgeon and has an added bonus- great bedside manner! I would go through this surgery again because I'm very well pleased with the whole process. rnThe only possible thing that could be improved with Dr Dyer's office is sometimes it takes awhile waiting, but I know that he spends time in the rooms with each patient.

Dr. Dyer was very professional. My family physician commented the notes they received from Dr. Dyer's office were very thorough and professional. Dr. Dyer made a point of repeatedly telling me Bariatric surgery was a tool not a solution. He also made sure I was aware of the risks. In fact he reviewed the risks just prior to my going up to surgery to insure I had not had second thoughts. Dr. Dyer is not a folksy doctor, he is a professional and is focused on informing the patient and doing successful surgery. If you are looking for a Doctor that will spend time chatting with you or will never appear busy he is probably not the surgeon for you. If your main focus is a successful operation I highly recommend him.rnrnThe surgery was uneventful as is possible with major surgery. Since I had had previous surgery I was on the table a bit longer and spent a full day in intensive care. THe only comment is that the pain was faily severe until I learned to use the patient controlled pain medication system. Once that was clear (everything was a little blurred coming out of surgery) I did not have any further problem with pain.rnrnI am 2 weeks out of surgery and based on my results Dr. Dyer is a very competent surgeon. I have had none of the side effects that were described such as nausea, and have had no follow on pain. Dr. Dyer was very good on checking up on me while I was in the hospital. I saw him twice a day and he was always upbeat and positive.rnrnI am ready to move into the aftercare program and consider this enrollment and posting part of that process.

Dr.Dyer was the surgeon who did the last seminar that I attended before making my life changing decision to have WLS. I was impressed by his knowledge, his comfort with a room full of people asking a million questions and the fact that he truly believes in the surgery he performs.rnOnce I made the decision to proceed, I never considered another doc. Now I am absolutely thrilled that I did. His confidence was exactly what I needed!rnHe had come highly recommended of course, but while I was in the hospital, EVERY nurse that attended me said \"You were definitely in good hands!\" and they were never concerned that I would have complications...I found a lot of confidence in that.rnI would definitely recommend Dr.Dyer to anyone considering wls. My only concern was that, even after all the research that I had done, I still felt unprepared / surprised after surgery. I didn't know anything about excruciating gas pain from laproscopic surgery (I guess not everyone has it). I also was not given clear instructions on how to care for my \"penrose\" incision. After 3 days at home, I was in severe pain. Dr. Dyer immediately took care of the issue however and now all is great!
