Community Bariatric Surgeons Bariatric Center
I have only met Dr. Jones the one time (at my consultation). I found her to be very knowledgable on the RNY proceedure. She had performed this operation on a friend of a friend and was highly recommended. Her staff has been very helpful, however I had to do most of the insurance legwork myself. I don't mind now that I have been approved. I have completed all of my pre-op classes and evaluations and am scheduled for surgery December 20th 2002. I am excited and anxious at the same time.
Rosemarie had to see alot of people in a short period of time the first day. Over time I found her to take the time needed for each of her patients and she took the time to make you feel secure about the surgery. The office staff was great, they seemed to be right on top of things. I did not have any problems with them. There wasn't anything I did not like about Dr.Jones.
It takes about six months to get scheduled with Dr. JOnes after you get approval from insurance. She very much emphasizes aftercare. They also a very structured aftercare program. I think Dr. Jones was great. My surgery only took one hour and six minutes and I was discharged from the hospital within 48 hours. Suggestions: Walk, walk, walk....
It was very hard initially to get ahold of the office. Alot of phone tag. Once I got in contact with the office, was scheduled for consult in months. Was well worth the wait. She was very reassuring and said that I was a great candidate. What's hard now is that I saw her in June, just now got approval and it's mid Oct 2002. I was so ready when I saw her, I need to get myself syked again. Office staff was very kind. It was very busy! It was nice to be in a waiting room with others who understood what I was going through. While waiting, it was nice to have conversations with those in the waiting room. Even exchanged some emails addresses. Went into a small group session initially where she described the whole procedure and had a q&A session. Then got to see her one-on-one. It was a quick visit, but she had already answered alot of my questions in the group session. She put alot of stress on the aftercare program and also stressed that this isn't a "magic bullet", only a tool. She seems to have a great bedside manner and in doing research, appears to be surgically competent. If I had to pick surgical competence or bedside manner, I would pick surgical competence. I'm an RN and I know that some GREAT surgeons can be lousey at the bedside.
I liked doctor Jones. She seems to be a very matter-of-fact person. The office staff has be quit helpful. There seems to be a set pattern for their patients and they move things along in a timely manner. I can not say they went into detail of what the risks were, but did answer any questions that were ask. I feel comfortable with the office and the surgeon.
I went to Dr. Jones because of all the good things that I heard about her. She is the best....great "bedside approach". From day one, all associated with her were super..She seems to really care about her patients, from start to finish. The hospital experience was excellent...best care ever at St. Vincents.
I was very impressed with Dr.Jones. She is a small woman and I kept wondering if she has to stand on a stool to do the surgery. She was very well prepaired with the information that she gave us and really answered about every question I had before I ever asked it. I feel confident in her skills because I have friend's who had her for their doctor. They are all doing well and are very happy that they had it done. I am going by what my friend's told me. They said she was very kind and listened to what they said and took good care of their needs. The office staff have been very helpful. My husband did most of the calling and kept on top of things. The office has so much going right now I think it is easier for us to do the calling and it helped to keep things moving so that I could get a date as soon as I could. Dr. Jones does stress the after care and I know the girls I work have gone back for check up's by Dr. Jones and have gone to the dietetion and have gotten help from her on what to eat and where they needed to enclude more protein. I am very encouraged. The only negative thing I have to say is that the office staff seemed to be overwhelmed by all the surgeries that are on the book and We had to stay on top of things. I do think it helped the staff by us taking the responsiblity to follow up on things.
First Consultation scheduled for April 23, 2002.. Wish me luck...
Appointment was cancelled due to lack of insurance approval for the referral. I have to wait for 6 months of doctor supervised weight loss attempts. I will say that I have spoken with Janie several times. She is so attentive. I have not met anyone from the office personally yet, but they all seem to really care... I can't wait!
I met her yesterday, August 14th, I was very pleased by her manerisms and knowledge... WOW.. She is definately the best choice for me.. I would recomend her to anyone...
My initial appointment with Doctor Jones on May 29, 2002, was to discuss abdominal adhesions. However, I had been thinking about bariatric surgery for quite some time and decided to discuss my options with her. I found her to be extremely professional as well as genuinely interested in my history, concerns, questions and feelings. I left her office feeling resolved and comfortable with my decision to have surgery. She will either fit me in if there is a cancellation or I will most likely be scheduled for mid-July. I will go through surgery preparation and have any other questions answered during a day-long session. Her office staff was friendly and accomodating. That is all I know thus far. I would recommend her.
