Community Bariatric Surgeons Bariatric Center
I have only met Dr. Rosemarie Jones on one occasion so far. It was in April for my initial consultation. First, there is a group meeting (this meeting was packed), then you can choose to have an individual consultation.
Dr. Jones led the group discussion and was very thorough and informative about the surgery. The wait times before and after the group mtg. can get very lengthy. Show up early if you can. I elected to meet with Dr. Jones following the meeting, which was good, but fairly brief. She answered individual questions, but it was obvious, she was trying to keep moving in order to get to all the others who were waiting.
The office staff, in my experience, could be more helpful. They apparently have been going through some staffing changed recently which has put them under more pressure than normal. (Not to mention the huge number of patients they must have to deal with!) They had difficulty giving me reliable contact information for a psych consult. They have also been very brief and uninformative on occasion when I have called the office with questions. Hopefully, things will settle down for them and this is just a temporary problem. Regardless, I still have an overall good impression and have only heard positive reports about Dr. Jones and her level of qualification.
Dr. Jones is the best. The first time we met her, we (my wife and I) were very impressed with her. She was professional, yet personal. The staff made you feel very comfortable and at ease. She was completely up front with the risk involved and what type of commitment you would have to make for the surgery to be successfull. The follow up program is very through, and the dieticians are also helpfull. I would rate Dr. Jones a perfect 10. Thanks for all you have done to help me thru this.
The little time that I did get to spend with Dr. Jones was amazing. My long awaited consult (scheduled in early January) was on March 19, 2003. The consult was very informative and she was so soft spoken. I felt as if she had had the surgery before. It wasn't a "you you you", it was her saying "we". She made you feel as if we (the patient and herself) were going to go through this together, and she could honestly relate to our thoughts, concerns, worries, and excitment. When I had my one-on-one with her, I was just as impressed. Sure it was a quick visit, but enough time for her to go over my medical records to see my history, ask me some questions and then let me ask questions if I had any. She then told me that I was an ideal candidate for this surgery and looking forward to working with me.
I walked away from this appointment with my spirts soaring and looking forward to starting my new life and weight loss!
My first impression was very good, she seemed caring and understanding. My first impression hasn't changed at all. The office visit was very good, she answered all of my questions and didn't seem impatient. There isn't anything I don't like about her. She emphasizes aftercare a great deal. She has a very structured aftercare program, attending classes, nutritionists, health checkups, etc. She said there is always a certain risk with any procedure. I rate her overall, very good! Not having had the surgery yet, I can't as yet rate her bedside manner or surgical competence, but I'll let you know.
Think she is a great doctor, but extrememly busy. She has returned all phone calls, and
is trying to be helpful. I was a self pay,
so no insurance problems.
She emphasis after moderately, but I find the
hospital I was in, was staffed by some mean inhospitalble nurses who refused to be caring, or kind. My biggest complaint was the care after.
I would rate her about a nine or ten , but the hospital about a 5.
I had my group consultation on Feb.19th, 2003, for surgery with Dr. Jones. I was really surprised that it was standing room only. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We got started late, but it was no surprise. Dr. Jones was really very informative and personable. She didn't really cover much that I hadn't already found out from the internet. But I found out more about her and her experience as a doctor. Dr. Jones is confident in the surgery and her ability to do it well. That made me feel more secure in my decision to have this surgery. If I have to pick either surgical competence or beside manner? Surgical competence all the way...beside manner is just a bonus. So far, Dr. Jones and her staff get an A in my book.
RoseMarie Jones is a wonderful doctor. She performed my gastric banding in 1997 and I felt very comfortable with her every step of the way. A problem has developed through no fault of the doctor causing me to have surgery again. The R&Y procedure will be performed this time and I am confident in my doctor and her staff.
My first impression was that she was has not been around to do enough surgery's, but looks are deceiving. She has been doing these surgery's for a long time. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing that I liked least, was waiting for her in the patients room for the one on one consultation. It was about a half and hour in the room waiting, but I think that is like any other doctor's office. Then you answered a few questions and got to ask any questions that you may have and then you were done. I think that took about 10-15 minutes. She is to the point, friendly, and cares. The consultation emphasizes the risks, aftercare, her surgical history, and she answers everyone's questions. It sounds like they have a structured aftercare program. If I were to rate Dr. Jones right now, I would have to say that she is **** (four out of five stars). I give her only four because I haven't had the surgery yet. Surgical competence is best, but a bedside manner is great too.
