I meet Dr. Bauman today(3/17/03) He was very nice. I would recommend him to others. His office staff was great too!!!
I've seen Dr Bauman once...at my consultation visit. He seems competent, has an excellent reputation and is easy to talk to. He answered all my questions--was very patient.

03/12/03 I had my surgery 02/24/03 with Dr Roc Bauman, Concord NC as the surgeon. He did an excellent job...visited me twice daily every day I was in the hospital. I was pleased with him as my surgeon. Also his office staff is very helpful.
Aftercare is very important. Dr B has you see him at 2 weeks post op, then 4 weeks post op, then every 6 months for follow ups. Also he has an excellent 1 year program with a nutritionist he encourages every patient to utilize---it's 1 visit a month for a year. And also you see an excerise physiologist at 6 weeks post op.
Prior to surgery he shows you a video (on his laptop) of the surgery & explains it & possible risks & complications in detail as well as providing you with about 10 or 12 pages of information explaining the same.
I understand he's now doing the lap band procedure as well as Laproscopic RNY.
Dr. Gersin was very down to earth, told me about the risks of surgery and answered all of my questions. I really liked him! Also Jo, the nurse practitioner, is excellent! What a lady that has her act together!Jessica Toliver, the Bariatric Coordinator is just awesome!! She answered all of my questions at the orientation I went to and has answered any emails I have sent her quickly! Thank you Jessica!! You are the best!! I had my initial consult with Dr. Gersin on 2/13/03!! I received insurance approval on 2/28/03 and have a tentative date scheduled on 3/31/03 for RNY lap surgery!!!! Gettin' closer!! ;-)
I had a good first impression, it was a brief meeting but positive. Everyone I have dealt with in his office has been wonderful. He discussed the risks, as well as the benefits and seemed very personable.
When I first met him I was shocked that he was so young looking. But when he started talking he made me feel very confident that he knew what he was talking about. I have only seen him once so my oppinion has not changed about him.The staff seemed to be really nice, like they were really concerned about their patients. Dr. Bauman is very clear that you have to have very good after care. He wants to make sure that you have a good doctor that is going to follow up with you.He has you going to Diane Stout and she is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Bauman was very clear that there are risks with the surgery, but with his confidence of talking to you he makes you fell very comfortable. At this point I would rate him a 10 for his surgical competence.
My first appointment with Dr Gersin was 6/02 for a pre-op visit, I found Dr Gersin to be professional, very intelligent, and very caring and understanding of the obesity problems. After my interview of Dr Gersin and his surgical history I felt I had found the "perfect" Doctor. He explained the procedure well along with complications and how they would pertain to me. I personally liked since I am a RN in a GI department the fact that he does a EGD at he end of surgery to check for pouch leaks. I have had 2 follow up visits since my August 2002 surgery all has gone well with no complications and have found Dr Gersin to be supportive, and very postive.
Jessica Toliver, Coordinator, is a wonderful, caring and very supportive person, Jessica works very hard to met all the demands of a very busy and popular surgery. I could not be any happier with all my encounters with Dr Gersin and the office and again I would entrust my life with Dr Gersin.
I meet Dr.Gersin for the first time on Jan 2.He was very nice and informative about the surgey.He is very straight forward but that is what me and my husbod like in a Doctor.He has a wonderful staff,they are very polite and take the time to talk to you and help you in anyway the can.Jessica is the Bariatric Coordinator she has helped me a lot.She will talk to you abuot all the steps and makes you feel very comfortable.I can"t what for my surgey and I know that they will suport in every way.I would recamend Dr.Gersin and his office personal to anyone who asks.
I was very impressed with Dr. Gersin and his friendliness and I can't wait to be able to speak with him more. He liked the fact that I had written down a list of questions to ask and answered everyone of them and told me to feel free to write down anything else that I may think of between now and the next time that I see him. The office staff was just as nice as the doctor and made me feel really comfortable. At this point I would recommend this doctor to anyone in the Cincinnati, OH area.
