nothing to dislike so far.
dr gerskin and the physician asst will take the time to answer your ?? to your satisfaction.
he puts a strong emphasis on aftercare.
yes return for blood work/checkup yearly at least
honestly and openly disscussed the risks of surgery.
based upon my first appointment i am satisfied. i am now post op 3-1-04. i am totally satisfied with dr gerskin and his staff.
first bedside manner. if this is bad i would not go back to find out about surgical competence.
I did research on the internet and went to 2 other seminars/doctors before finding Dr. Gersin. I found him on the internet and thought his credentials and recommendations looked good. I went to the seminar, completed my packet and began my "journey".
I met Dr. Gersin and suprisingly didn't have many questions for him. It seems that any that I had have already been answered from either the seminars or my Dr. Gersin's assistant. I was impressed by the pre-op testing he wanted me to get. An EKG because I had taken Phen-Phen and an EGD because of past heartburn and GERD symptoms. And I was also happy to hear that they will be following up with me for the rest of my life. I am totally satisified with his office staff. Karen, has promptly taken or returned all my calls. I know that there are risks, but I don't believe they were stressed. Before surgery, I would rate the doctor & staff an 8 on a scale of 1-10. After surgery, I will rate again...
I met his Fellow first and he sat down with me and talked about the surgery and answered a few questions I wanted to clarify. He was great and we had fun. Then shortly after I met Dr. Gersin. He was great, also very funny. I trust him completely and I look forward to him doing my surgery. He has a good bedside manner and I have complete confidence in his surgical skills. I was very impressed that they are doing a lot of research in this field and ask you to participate. I was more than happy to consent because I feel there hasn't been enough research and I'd love to see more info available to the public. They have a fantastic aftercare program and are committed to following you for the rest of your life. That shows how much they care and will also help with the information available down the road about the long term reults of the surgery. Their office staff was great. I went straight back and didn't even to get to sit down in the waiting room. I definetly think Dr. Gersin is the right surgeon for me and I know now that all this waiting was definetly for a reason.
I knew I trusted Dr Gersin from the moment I met him. He made sure I understood all the risks involved and how important aftercare is. I didn't leave his office thinking this would be a quick fix to my obesity problem. He and his staff educated me on the risks and answered any questions I had. I can't think of one single negative thing to say about him or his staff. They are all so helpful and willing to answer all your questions. They are prompt with calling you back when you have questions post-op! I couldn't be happier with the surgery or care I received at the hospital and still receive at 3 months post op! Dr Gersin, you are the greatest! I can't sing your praises highly enough! I feel lucky to have a Dr like you in the Tristate area.
I met with Dr. Bauman yesterday and he and his staff are great. I had heard terrible things about his office staff but I found tham to be VERY nice and helpful. Dr. Bauman is a nice man. He seems to be all about business. I dont know how to explain it. He just didnt show much a personality. Which I thought I would mention so someone would know to expect that. I think he is very intelligent and knowledgable. He explained everything and answered each question I had thoroughly. I know I will feel comfortable in his hands.
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH DR BAUMAN. HE PUT ME AT EASE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. HE ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF. HIS OFFICE STAFF HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY HELPFUL EVEN WHEN I WAS "STRESSED" OUT. HE IS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING TO THE LETTER INCLUDING GOING TO SEE A NUTRIONIST ONCE A MONTH SINCE MY SURGERY.
I HAD AN OFFICE VISIT AT ONE WEEK, THREE MONTHS, SIX MONTHS AND WILL HAVE ANOTHER AT THE END OF ONE YEAR.
I REALLY FELT THAT DR BAUMAN KNEW ALOT ABOUT WHAT HE WAS DOING AND I DID MY BEST TO COMPLY WITH HIS "ORDERS". HE CERTAINLY KNEW BETTER THAN I. SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS A MUST BUT IT IS NICE IF A DOCTOR CAN CONVEY HIS ORDERS WITH GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER.
IT SEEMED THAT HE WAS TERRIBLY OVERBOOKED AND I HAD TO MAKE EXTRA TRIPS TO CONCORD (ABOUT 2 HOURS FROM MY RESIDENCE) BECAUSE HE COULDN'T SEE ME THE DAY THAT I WAS TO SEE THE NUTRIONIST. I CALLED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND DID NOT GET AN ANSWER TO SOME OF MY QUESTIONS ALTHOUGH I DID EMAIL HIM AND GOT QUICK RESULTS.
THESE ARE JUST MY PERSONA IMPRESSIONS OF MY EXPERIENCE AND I AM NOT MAKING ANY STATEMENTS ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED.
I hate doctors! They are so cold and impersonal yet you are at you most vulnerable when you go to them. My first impression of Dr. Roc Bauman is "I can work with him". I was actually pleasantly surprised with his openess about his successes and failures. I especially was pleased by the "process" at his office. I was treated as an individual and I was told exactly who I should see and what I need to get based on my personal situation. I was not herded in with 100 other people, given a lot of stuff, then turned loose to complete the requirements.
Great - Very Professional - Didn't try to hide the dangers of the surgery. I was impressed from the very beginning.
The office staff was great - always answered my questions and submitted my insurance very fast.
I would rate him and his office a "10" on the scale of 1 - 10. My care could not have been better.
