California Pacific Medical Center Bariatric Center
I am still pre-op so I can't answer all the questions. Dr.Jossart seems to be a real sweet heart. He took his time with me and went over the entire procedures and all the risks. He seems to take a personal interest in his patients. He seems to always be available to answer all questions as they come up. His office staff is very nice and very helpful. He does have an after care program and really seems to emphasize it. So far I would give him the highest rating. If I had anything negative to say it would be he seems to be in a hurry on the phone.
Dr. Jossart did a good job of preparing me for surgery. I had opportunities to stop in to his office several times before surgery and office staff were very helpful. I appreciated most Dr. Jossart's handling of pre-anesthesia issues and his attentiveness the first couple of days when things were not going smoothly. The only surprise was they type of wound closure. He took late night phone calls about my reaction to morphine and saw me 3 times the second day when my body wasn't making much urine. His handouts are very good. There is just so much information, it sometimes takes me awhile to find something I know is in the diet or surgical handbook. I know he answers e-mails promptly and he called me the day before surgery to discuss my endoscopy results and ease my mind about going ahead with the procedure. His partner Dr. Feng saw me for my discharge and was delightful, patiently answering all my questions, even though he didn't do my surgery.
Overall rating is excellent. I am home, feeling better than I expected, needing no pain meds. Can't ask for any more competence than that.
Dr Jossart is the greatest surgeon in the world. He is always nice to talk to. He has never raised his voice over any of my concerns.
His office staff work very hard to make sure everything came together for my surgery.
Once I was sitting in the hospital waiting for an appointment to have a PH test done. I was
talking with another person and all of a sudden this guy says Hi Allen how are you doing.
I turned around and it was Dr. Jossart. He sat down with me for about five minutes and checked in with me
all the things that were going on with me. Most of the doctors I have had would NEVER take time out of their day to check in on me.
without being paid for their services. Dr Jossart is the best doctor I have ever known.
I've either choosen Dr. Jossert, Dr. Cringle or Dr. Feng. They all work at the same practice and I'm not sure who I'm meeting with. First impression of their staff has been excellent. These doctors are not in-network for my insurance however I think I will choose them anyways. For someone just starting their research, and have many choices like I do in the California Bay Area, shop around, not all programs are the same. You should pick one that best suites your needs. My first appointment with the surgeon is 4/18/03. Will keep you posted...
I met with Dr. Jossart yesterday for the first time and was very impressed. His staff is friendly and very helpful and supportive. Dr. Jossart took his time in going over the information about the surgery and was very forthright in his opinions and experiences. He is serious and I make bad jokes when nervous. I wasn't sure if he appreciated my humor, but he treated me with respect and with absolutely no condescension.
His process is quite organized, including pre-printed literature and post-operative follow-up. Everything is printed out for you and reviewed.
I feel very confident. I had seen another surgeon previously and did not feel any connection or human-ness. This was a totally different experience.
I was very impressed with Dr Jossart the first timne I met him. I have talked to him several times by phone, and continue to be very impressed. His staff have been most helpful and I always get a timely response when I call. I would highly recommend this Surgeon and his staff at this point. My surgery is scheduled for January 28, 2003.
He was wonderful. His staff is very helpful and nice. He was very personable and explained everything. Aftercare is very important to the process. both his surgical skill and bedside manner were exceptional. I did feel he was pressed for time at times but he was never rude or short nor did he talk down to me.
