I have been seen before in the Evans Nutrition Group at Boston Medical center (BMC). The staff has always been kind and courteous. I meet Dr. Force On October 16, 2000 after waiting over three months for an appointment. He was very nice and gave me a lot of information on the surgery and on after care. I am expected to lose some weight before surgery and attended support group.

I have not been able to contact anyone from Dr. Forse's office. My PCP and myself have made munerous calls to his office and NONE have been returned. I am very concerned about this. I contacted my insurance company and they have not even recieved the doctors request for surgery Dec 2000). After waiting 3 months for the initial consultion and 2 more months for a phone call to be returned I would be hard pressed to recommend this Doctor or his office to anyone.

This surgeon is terrific. He was gentle and never rushed me. He answered any questions I had.

My only problem is that he uses a g-tube as standard procedure. I was not given this info until all of the paperwork had been filed and I was already committed to him.

The g-tube is the biggest drawback (and it is a biggie!!) It hurts, looks terrible and cannot be concealed under clothes. It has kept me from returning to work when I felt well enough. I was told it would come out on my first followup visit but when I arrived I was told it had to stay in for 1 more week. When I called to see the surgeon after one week I was told it would have to stay in for another week. It has been so frustrating. It remains in for just about one month. I have never needed to use it as I don't have any problems with the diet or getting fluids. It is my only complaint but it overshadows most of the good stuff right now.

Dr. Force and his whole staff are wonderful. I was very nervous to meet him and right away he made me comfortable and was willing to take the time to answer any questions I had. Also his surgery coordinator Adrianne is so sweet and wonderful!! She called me at home to make sure I was ready for surgery and I was okay afterwards!! The follow up care that they offer is among the best I have heard of!! I believe it has been the key to my success. I am so pleased with Dr. Force and very glad I chose him as my surgeon!!

Two thumbs up!! LOL :)

AT FIRST HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND BUSINEESLIKE, YET COMPASSIONATE AND UNDERSTANDING. I LIKED HIM AND FELT VERY SAFE IN HIS CARE. AFTER MY SURGERY AND AS WE GOT TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER HE LIGHTENED UP A LITTLE. NOW WE JOKE AROUND ABOUT CERTAIN THINGS, BUT HE WAS VERY SERIOUS MOST OF THE TIME. HE DOES NOT TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED AND IS VERY THROUGH. DOES NOT LEAVE ANYTHING TO CHANCE. HIS STAFF IS AWESOME. ESPECIALLY HIS COORDINATOR, ADRIENNE. SHE IS WONDERFUL. SHE IS SO COMPASSIONATE AND REALLY TRIES TO DO ALL SHE CAN FOR YOU. SHE REALLY HAS A TOUGH JOB! THEY WORK WONDERUL TOGETHER. IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION SHE WILL FIND THE ANSWER FOR YOU. VERY PATIENT WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE COMING AT HER AT ONCE. SHE REALLY GOES THE EXTRA MILE FOR THE PATIENT'S. SHE IS AN ANGEL. THE REST OF THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. MY LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT DR. FORSE ARE THE BOW TIES HE WEARS. I'VE NEVER BEEN A BIG FAN OF BOW TIES. yOU SHOULD KNOW THAT HE IS VERY BUSY AND IT MIGHT TAKE A WHILE TO GET A CONSULTATION. BUT THAT'S THE PRICE YOU PAY WHEN YOUR GOOD!!! AFTERCARE IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM. HE ESPECIALLY WANTS TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE TAKING THE PROPER STEEPS TO INSURE SUCCESS AND STAY HEALTHY. MEETINGS WITH THE NUTRITIONIST AS WELL AS THE DOCTOR ARE EMPHASIZED. THEY HAVE A VERY STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM. THERE ARE MANY RESOURCES AVAILABLE AND THEY HAVE A GROUP THAT MEETS THE FIRST AND THIRD THRUSDAY OF EVERY MONTH. THESE GROUPS ARE PRICELESS TO ALL PRE AND POST-OP PATIENTS. MANY QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWERED THERE. ALL RISKS ARE GIVEN. NOTHING IS HELD BACK. THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF AND NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10, 10 BEING THE BEST I WOULD RATE DR. FORSE A 12. I OBVIOUSLY THINK HE IS GREAT!! I WAS NOT AWAKE DURING THE SURGERY, BUT CONSIDERING WHAT HE HAD TO WORK WITH I THINK HE DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. HIS BEDSIDE MANNER IS GREAT, I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM. IF YOU THINK YOUR GOING TO PUT ANYTHING OVER ON HIM, YOUR WRONG. HE CAN SEE RIGHT THOUGH ANY OF YOUR PRETENCES AND FALSE PRIDE. HE HAS A GRAT PERCEPTION OF WHAT'S GOING ON NOT ONLY WITH YOUR BODY, BUT WITH YOU THOUGHTS TOO.

My first impression of Dr. Forse was that I felt rushed. He told me what the operation consisted of, asked questions about what I have done for my weight and that was it. I didn't see him again until the day of my surgery. Everytime I went to the office I dealt with the program coordinater, Adrienne. She is absolutely WONDERFUL! She got my insurance approved on her first try. She answered any questions I had. After I had my surgery my opinion of Dr. Forse changed. He is an AWESOME Dr. On all of my visits I have been to since....He always listens to whatever I have to talk to him about and suggests different ideas to help if I have a problem. He always asks how my husband and I are getting along and if things are going OK. He realizes that this was a BIG step and wants to make sure hubby is OK with everything. Also always asks about my kids and how they are with dealing with it. I can't say enough GREAT things about him. He has given me back my life and I thank him for EVERYTHING he has done for me and my family. His aftercare is a little stricter than I have heard about most Dr.'s. Only liquids for the first 3 weeks until the first visit. Then on to pureed foods for a month. After that, it is whatever can be tolerated. He does that so that the pouch can have ample time to heal. He also holds support groups on the first & third thursday each month (held in the office). As for the risks of sugery.....I was so scared and he had to tell me about them BUT, he told me NOT to worry too much and to think of the risks if I did not have it done. How would I rate him....Hmmm.....On a scale of 1-10 Dr. Forse is DEFINATELY a 12. I would recommend him to anybody who is looking for a surgeon for this type of surgery.

Thanks to Dr. Armour Forse for SAVING my LIFE!
