I thought Dr Forse looked like Orville Redenbacher, the popcorn guy...

I was very impressed with his knowledge of the surgery and he let me choose which option I wanted. He did compare all the surgery's pros and cons and left the final decision to me.

I don't like the way we have to wait for 20minutes or more after our scheduled appt time to be seen.

Dr Forse wants to see me succeed, therefore he was after me at my 6 week appt to make sure I am taking care of myself and following the set guidelines.

My first impression of Dr. Forse was a good one. He is soft spoken and confident at the same time. He took a lot of time to make sure we knew exactly what we were getting into. After he explained the risks and talked about the lifestyle changes we'd need to make my wife and I knew we'd found the right surgeon. He had around 1000 bariatric surgeries under his belt, was an expert on laproscopic surgery, nutrition and metabolism.rnWhat really impressed me about Dr. Forse is his commitment to his patient's well being. He actually canceled his Christmas vacation to make sure my wife was taken care of. (She had comlpications from a previous surgery and had to stay in intensive care.)rnSince surgery he has been great about making sure we have the right amoount of vitamin/mineral supplements and has monitired our eating habits as we progress.rnHis office staff isn't as good unfortunately. We live over three hours away from his office so we only see him once every few weeks. His nurse has gone as long as six weeks before letting us know our lab results.rnEven so, I would not hesitate to refer him to someone else. I had a 62\" waist at the time of my surgery and fully expected to be opened up but he did my DS laproscopically. He's truly a great guy - even if he does slightly resemble \"Buffalo Bill\" from Silence of the Lambs :)

Bariatric Surgeon - Ranjan Sudan, M.D. was originally the surgeon I was scheduled to have.

My first impression of Dr. Forse was excellent. His presentation of the bariatric surgeries were very imformative. The risks of surgery were fully explained to me presurgery. The bariatric surgical staff and nursing staff have been educated and trained so that they can be of assistance to the patient before and after surgery. I was hospitalized for a week after surgery and was pleased with the care that I received from 90% of the staff. My minor setbacks were treated without hesitation. There is an aftercare program available for patients that consist of dietary and surgical consults and a monthly support group meeting. I have learned to sift through the information given at the support group meetings from other patients and to apply what helps me with any current problems. The bariatric staff are only a phone call away if I do have any concerns or questions. I would rate the Creighton Hospital Bariatric Staff at a 95%. My personal experience has been wonderful. The above statements are strictly based upon my own experiences and I cannot make any statements about what other people may have experienced.

I liked him from the get go. I especially liked his colorful bow-ties :). His office staff was great. I entered the program when there was a staff change so that was a little challenging but it all worked out. He genuinely cares for his patients and makes sure this is what is best for them. He really emphasizes after-care and his staff is readily available for any questions no matter how big or small. He did address any risks or side effects the surgery may cause. I would rate him from 1-10, a 10. He has wonderful bedside manner and is very competent in what he does.

rnI has my surgery with Dr. forse on January of 2001. The result has been fantastic, I can complain because I thought that I would never come down to the 200 lbs, instead I have come down to the 100 and something. I feel great, I can do alot of the stuff that I couldn't do before. If it wasn't for this surgery, I don't know where I would have been right no. The staff and the hospital stay was wonderful, I can't complain, in matter of fact I left the hospital sooner than what they thought of. My recovering was so fast and no complication was so ever. Dr. Forse and the head nurse explained everything to me, the risk factor and everything that involved the surgery, they should me a picture of what they will do and what I should expected after. It been now 8 years and I feel great, if I has to do it again I would definitely do with Dr. Forse. The after care again no complain what so ever. By the way I have lost the total of 120 lbs.

Remember that these are my opinions and each person has to make his/her own educational decision on who to choose to be their attending physician.rnrn1) What was your first impression of him/her? My first impression of meeting Dr. Armor Forse is wow, I finally get to meet him. I did not get to meet Dr. Forse until about 20 minutes before my surgery. I was to have my surgery with Dr. Sudan, but he chose to leave Creighton Medical Center.rnrn2) How did your impression change over time? I will hopefully get to meet Dr. Forse again on October 20th, for my follow-up visit.rnrn3) How would you describe his/her office staff? I would describe Dr. Forse's office staff (the receptionist and his Nurse Coordinator as rude and demeaning to me.rnrn4) What did you like least about him/her? I haven't really got to know Dr. Forse at all, so I can not answer this question at this time.rnrn5) What should future patients know about him/her? At this time, I am not able to answer this question since I have only met Dr. Forse one time for about 5 minutes.rnrn6) How much does he/she emphasize aftercare? I really can not answer this question either at this time. Personally, at this time I really don't feel that any of his staff or him could care anything about me.rnrn7) Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? Once again, I do not know how to really answer this question either. I want to say no, since no one has explained to me what my aftercare is going to all involve.rnrn8) How did he/she address the risks of surgery? Can't say that he addressed any of this with me since I didn't meet him until the day of surgery.rnrn9) How would you rate him/her overall? I really can not rate Dr. Forse at all at this time since I do not really know him. Personally, I am not impressed with Dr. Forse or his staff since they do not seem to have the time to keep appointments and talk to me face to face.rnrn10) Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? To me, both of these play a very important role in the capabilities of any doctor. Patients need to feel comfortable around their doctor as well as knowing that the doctor is competent.

I really like Dr. Forse. He is very professional and he has a good sense of humor. He answers all questions without rushing you. He joked around with me and my family and that immediately put my husband at ease. I waited over a year to have Dr. Forse because I knew I was getting a top quality surgeon with much experience. Unfortunately, Dr. Forse has relocated, but his replacement is Dr. Hess and he performed the surgery along with Dr. Forse. He's experienced and a great doc. I like him as well.

My first impression of Dr. Forse was a very kind, smart, understanding, and humerous person. I was fortunate to see Dr. Forse on different occassion as other family members had gastric bypass and i accompanied them to visits and their surgeries. Therefore, my impression of him grew to see that he is a devoted Doctor to his patients, and make sure he knows his patients in and out before doing any type of surgery on them. i have absolutely nothing negative to say about Dr. Forse.. i highly recommend him (although he is now leaving) to anyone. anyone that is lucky enough to have him as their doctor..your in great hands..he is very much emphatic about your aftercare program...it is very structured and i know alot of research went into this. Very straight forward on the risk, but with all the testing and studies, i felt comfortable. I would say he is a wonderful doctor, and will give you the best care, and most importantly..support and understanding. i believe surgical competence is most important..but you get both with Dr Forse
