I went to a seminar for Weight Loss Surgery because I was interested in a revision from where I had regained weight ...one of the surgeon's (Dr Malani) was there and after seeing some of my medical tests and results he said I needed to be in the ROSE Procedure Trail ...that was a week and a half again. Since then things have moved really rapidly .... I went yesterday for the Initial Eval and the H Pyloric breathing test. and it was Negative .... the PA saidi they already knew the size of my Pouch and Stoma ( it has to be stretched or dialated to a certain size to get in the Trial) because I had already had an Upper GI Series and the Upper EGD done and they had the results. She said UNOFFICIALLY i was accepted if I wanted it. I will have the OFFICIAL acceptance into the Trial after the EGD is done on Monday morning ... at that point they will schedule the surgery for probably 4/23 or 4/24 .......I am really excited because the insurance I have right now has an exclusion to WLS ....and this wont cost me anything .... I have heard ..Dr Weiss is an awesome Surgeon and has a great personality . I will find out for sure on Monday when he does the EGD.

Dr. Weiss went out of his way to make sure that I got my surgery before my insurance changed, so that I did not have to start all over. He done my surgery only five days before Christmas and was there everyday that I was in the hospital. He is the most kind doctor that I have ever met. He genuinely smiles and looks at you and cares how you do after the surgery. He was great with my husband who was very scared, and took all the time necessary to explain all the risks of surgery and answered any questions that we had. Anyone that can go and let Dr. Weiss take care of them, should go. I recommend him highly and would go through this again only with him. The aftercare program there is awesome and encouraged, they even have their own support site online, as well as meetings weekly, monthly, even picnics in the summer and a holiday party where everyone can get all dressed up and meet each other. Defeinitely one of the good ones!!

Dr. Weiss and his staff were tremendously encouraging and helpful every step of the way. The educational process was extraordinary. Dr. Weiss was excited for me and I could tell that he truly wanted the best for me. I could rate him off the charts and would recommend him to anyone who desires WLS. He falls short in no category and in my book is simply the best!!!

I would rate Dr. Weiss and Dr. Oldham top-notch. From the first time that I went to their office in Georgetown, KY., I was treated with the upmost respect and professinalism that I had ever received before. My first impression of Dr. Weiss was one of admiration and his sense of caring to dedicate his life to helping obese people. He was sincere and dedicated to helping me get to a healthier weight and lifestyle. rnThe office staff is AWESOME! They work hard to get the stuff done. I have to comment on the insurance coordinator, Catherine, she is an angel. My journey began about 3.5 years ago, I have just recently gotten approval and had surgery. She worked hard and even had to go the extra mile to get me approved. rnThis is truly a Bariatric Center.....Education is a prime topic. I think that their patients are educated far beyond what is required. They leave NO questions unanswered. Also, they include your family. Not only you, but your family in informed and questions answered as well. rnThe aftercare support is awesome as well. They have group meetings, on-line support groups and an excellent follow-up plan that is superior. If you have any questions, big or small, they are there for you.rnNot only are they great at what they do, they are there for you and your family!rnI would most certainly recommend Dr. Weiss, Dr. Oldham, Georgetown Bariatric Center and Georgetown Community Hospital to any one!rnThey are GREAT! I owe my NEW life to them!rnThanks.

DR WEISS AND DR OLDHAM HAVE BEEN GREAT! THEY ARE INFORMATIVE, ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS, SEEM TO REALLY CARE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE.rnrnTHE OFFICE STAFF AT THE BARIATRIC CENTER IS VERY FRIENDLY AND IT IS ALMOST LIKE A LEARNING ATMOSPHERE. I'VE NEVER HAD A QUESTION GO UNANSWERED AND THEY ALWAYS HAVE TIME TO DISCUSS ISSUES WITH YOU.rnrnEDUCATION HAS BEEN A VERY BIG PART OF GOING TO THE BARIATRIC CENTER. YOU TAKE SEVERAL CLASSES AND YOU ARE TESTED ON THE MATERIAL TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN. ALL RISK WERE EXPLAINED ALONG WITH THE PROCEDURE ITSELF MULTIPLE TIME TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND. IF YOU DIDN'T CATCH SOMETHING THE FIRST TIME YOU SHOULD THE SECOND TIME.rnrnTHE AFTER SURGERY/SUPPORT SYSTEM IS WONDERFUL. SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS, TESTING TO MAKE SURE YOUR VITAMIN LEVELS ARE IN BALANCE AND INTERACTION WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE MAKES IT NOT FEEL LIKE YOUR ALL ALONE IN THE PROCESS. rnrnI TRULY BELIEVE YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER GROUP OF PEOPLE TO HELP YOU WITH WHAT HAS PROBABLY BEEN A LIFETIME STRUGGLE.rnrnI GIVE DR. WEISS, DR. OLDHAM AND THEIR STAFF A TEN OUT OF TEN.

Dr. Weiss was very knowledgeable and personable. rnrnMy impression only improved even more after meeting with him in consultations. rnrnHis staff were all very helpful and well-informed. Many had had bariatric surgeries themselves and could give their personal insights. rnrnFuture patients should know that Dr. Weiss has a special concern for the obese and \"tells it like it is\" in a kind and caring manner. rnrnHe is a strong believer in aftercare support and his practice offers both weekly and monthly support groups which I have found to be very informative, encouraging, and helpful.rnMy husband even attends with me.rnrnHe was very thorough in explaining all possible surgical risks and gave a realisticrnappraisal of what he might and might not be able to do for me since I had had a previous stomach stapling procedure back in 1980 and I was 66 years of age and had a couple of episodes with blood clots in the legs over the years. rnrnOn a scale of 1 to 10, he would have to be a 10--the BEST! I would gladly recommend him to anyone facing bariatric surgery. Obese people in the Lexington area are fortunate to have such a competent bariatric surgeon, his partner, and his whole team so close at hand.rnrnHe was GREAT both in his surgical competencernand in his bedside manner. It was also a great comfort knowing that Dr. Weiss had his partner, Dr. Oldham, assisting during my surgery. I felt I was in the best hands possible.

Personally speaking, Dr Weiss was very helpful, as well as a good listener. He made things easier for me, as well as making my surgery, a miner pain process. He seems to pay attention to his patients needs and is eager to assist you as well. We need more doctor's like, DR. WEISS! He helps you from beginning to end. I highly recommend DR.WEISS, to all patients, considering any bariatrics procedures! He is very helpful, and will make the procedure, a positive experience! Thanks, DR.WEISS, Jeff Caldwell
