Dr Jones / Provost group was referred to me by another WLS patient using Dr Provost. He was high risk so Provost was his doctor. By high risk I mean he had other health problems and excess weight was well over 250 lbs .. he weighed over 500 lbs.
He raved about the team. I was accepted and Dr Jones was my doctor. He was very straight forward and spent as much time with me as I desired. He did not rush me. He allowed me to ask all the questions I needed to.
He gave me back my life.
He spent 2 extra hours in surgery prior to WLS cleaning up scar tissue from other surgeries and freeing up my back so I could walk without pain again. He didnt need to do this to complete WLS but he did it anyway.
I had no problems after surgery.
MY husband and I returned for the 10 day appt to remove the staples (67) and he talked with us for at least an hour about anything we wanted to talk about even our garden. He is amazing. I have never been to a doctor that personable. You would think he didnt have other patients. He has many and treats them all the same.
I rate him the best surgeon I have ever been to and I have had several surgeries!

Dr. Jones is a no nonsence person. He tells you right up front what the risks are what he expects from you. He told me all about the risks and benefits. He expains what I could expect after surgery. I had no compaints about his office staff they were all friendly and supportive. He expects to follow all his patients for their lifetimes after the surgery. I like this fact as I always feel I have someone to turn to. I would recommend him to anyone looking at WLS.

I was referred to Dr. Jones by his partner Dr. Provost. I had heard good things about Dr. Provost and he was listed as an inbound network doctor with my insurance United. The wait to see Dr. Jones was much shorter than Dr. Provost. I called Dr. Provost's office one day and can you believe he answered the phone. I talked to him for about 30 mins. He answered many of my questions and sent me to Dr. Jones. It took me about 7 weeks wait to see Dr. Jones. He is a very nice guy and extremely smart. It scared me at first because he is so young. I got over that though, and knowing Dr. Provost would be in the surgery room too eased me a bit. Once I got to know Dr. Jones though I became very compfortable with him. I found out he was sent to Dallas to help with the Laproscopic program. He is actually the one responsible for getting it off the ground. Pretty immpressive. There had to be many applicants and Dr. Jones was chosen. That eased me a bit too. His office staff is awesome. Lois Hill is the most incredible gal. She really went to work for me on getting my insurance to approve. After surgery she was great in helping me with any problems I was having.
Yes, i did have problems. I was borderline to have this surgery weighing 235 lbs. 29 yr female in pretty good health. I worked with Dr. Jones and Lois and did everything they told me to do. They have a before surgery program and a strong after surgery program. They did fail to tell me that before surgery I should have been exercising. I did not want to lose any weight so I did'nt. Later I learned that you needed to. Too late! He empjasizes strongly the after care program which i follow pretty well. I did have complications in surgery. Dr. jones told me complications would be less than 3%, mainly because I was so small. The anestesioligist (sp) did not pull the tube out all the way and they stapled the tube to my esafagus. They un did that and fixed it and then they went to staple my pouch and missed. They hit my diaphram. They then had to un do that and fix it. My 2 hour surgery turned into 7 hours.Dr. jones checked on me every day though, and he had interns looking after me as well. My 3 day hospital visit turned into 4. Everything is good now though. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate Dr. Jones a 7. 10 being best. I would have rated him allot higher, but my personal complications which as I have learned very rarely ever happen, brought my oponion of him down by probably 2 points. Many other patients have extremely successful surgery with Dr. Jones. Accidents happen and I know that. I hope this helps you in any way.

I am having the lap surgery with Dr. Daniel
Jones, who is partners with Dr. Provost.
Whenever they have a lap, they do them
together, so both of them will be there.
They have done over 126 laps thus far, and
thousands of open RNY. They are part of the
U. of Texas Southwestern Medical school
faculty and I like that a lot. Their office
is very professional and I like their staff
so far.

I feel very comfortable with Dr. Jones - he
sat and talked to me as long as it took -
even drew me a little picture of what happens
during the surgery. He was very honest
about the possible risks and straightforward
about eating afterwards. I look forward to
the surgery and seeing how he does. I feel
great about him.

Updated - I am post-op now - had my LAP RNY
on 9/5/00. Dr. Jones was fantastic - he
took very good care of me and came to see me
twice a day. He was very gracious to all my
family members also.

I am very confident in Dr. Jones as a doctor
and as a person. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Jones was very matter of fact and straight forward in our first meeting. I liked that. He pulled no punches with what will be ahead if my surgery is approved by my insurance company. He is very serious about his work and is all business! His office staff was great! Lena is working on the insurance and I am sure she will do everything possible to get the surgery approved.

My 1st consult with Dr Jones was Oct 18th. Dr Jones office was the first Dr office that the doctor was early for the appointment and took me in BEFORE time. My first impression was that he was a doctor that actually human and cares.

He spent a lot of time with us, answering questions and explaining the whole process, risks of the surgery, aftercare.and drawing pictures on the exam table paper.. lol He also has a since of humor, while he was filling out his paperwork my husband and I were reading the hand outs he gave me... no this,, no that,,, John whispered to me.. do you see no sex? lol Dr Jones stoped and turned around and told him, "You'll get twice as much" I about died!!!

I also got to meet Lois, she is the nurse in charge of all of us.. She seemed really nice also.

All in all it went great, couldnt ask for a better consult.

My first impression of Dr. Jones was that he seemed somewhat young. I immediately like him though. He was very friendly and thorough in explaining the process. He detailed the risks and complications that could happen, as well as informing me of all the positive aspects. He provided a list of 'no-no' foods, etc. I meet with him once more before the surgery.
