Bariatric & Metabolic Institute Bariatric Center
I have swithched surgeons since a couple of years ago. My surgeon is now in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic not pittsburg.
So far, I think he is great! I have had my first appointment with him and I liked him from the start. His staff (especially Nadine) is awesome! He has a fellow that is going to help him with the surgery. So far so good.
He is the best and now he is at the Cleveland Clinic!
I will update again after my surgery!
The doctor and all the staff are wonderful. The post op support group meetings really keep me on track and afford me the chance to network with other people who have had the same or similar surgery.
I would encourage anyone interested in having this surgery and live in or around the Baton Rouge area to certainly consider Dr. LeBlanc and his wonderful staff.
It has been wonderful working with a doctor who truly enjoys assisting his patients to a better lifestyle. He is at every support group meeting with several of his staff members.
He very carefully explained each aspect of the surgery, the risks, possibility of post op problems such as gallbladder removal.
He is very attentive during office visits. I do not feel rushed in and out as with other doctors.
I had my surgery in April 2004 with no complication. In June 2004 I had to have my
gallbladder removed. In September 2004 I had to have scope run due to scaring. If I had it to do all over I would!!!
I realize my info here is all positive but that has truly been my experience. Dr. Leblanc and his staff by the grace of God have given me a new lease on life and I am going to enjoy every minute and shout from the mountain tops what a wonderful experience I have had with his office.
he is a wonderful man and great bed side manner. i feel he has been doing lap bariatric for so long that he must be the best!!! He has since moved from practising at upmc in pittsburgh to cleveland clinic. that is great news for ohioians!!!!
Dr Schauer makes a very good first impression. He is very considerate of his patients feelings and takes the time to answer any and all questions. He is extremly professional yet very freindly and personable. The entire staff at the office are very knowledgeable about wls. Maybe even more than some other surgeons staffs. When you consider the fact that most of the staff had wls themselves. They not only know the surgery from a medical view they also have a personal view. I would recomend Dr Schauer and staff to everyone. I am sorry to report that Dr Schauer left UPMC and moved to Ohio I belive Cleveland. So if you are in or close to Ohio and are considering wls Contact Dr Schauer I highly recomend him.
Dr. Schauer is a very kind man...He treated me with respect & for once a doctor didn't talk to me like my weight was all my fault...and it was my fault that I couldn't lose it. He was gentle & really took the time to listen. He is a very busy man though and this needs to be understood when seeing him because he does take his time with his patients & he does somewhere between 20-30 surgeries a week. He is moving to Cleveland though, and leaving Pittsburgh. It's bittersweet because I am happy for him, but sad to see him go. He will be missed. :o) His partners are still staying in Pittsburgh though & I hear they are very good as well. His office staff is very nice & supportive as well.
Dr. Schauer was a very nice man. I knew that I would like him and I would be in good hands! His office staff is all very friendly (especially Troy! :-*) There will not be any future patients of Dr. Schauer because he is now in sports medicine and the surgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I would rate Dr. Schauer, his care and his staff as a 9.5 out of 10!
