My first impression of Dr.Klein was that he was very professional. This was to change during the years that I have known him. He is much more than that. Dr. Klein is from the old school of health care. He is a very hands on kind of MD. When you have a problem, he is very aggressive with his treatment. He doesn't mess around with his patients health. He doesn't let them suffer. Dr.Klein tries very hard to get patients to understand the total effect of their surgery on their lifestyle. I will admit that Dr. Klein has been having a little staff trouble. He has lost his top nurse. It is sometimes frustrating to deal with his office staff, but it is worth the trouble. Dr.Klein is the best.I have never met any other MD that has been as considerate and honest. He has a genuine conpassion and concern for his patients that goes way beyond the call of duty.Dr. Klein sets a standard for himself and makes sure it is met. Next to God, there is no better.

I was not all that please when I entered the office of Stanley Kline because I waited over two hours to see him. I wanted to leave because I was so fed up. Well, I waited and waited. I met a man who was not like a pompus doctor but rather normal. He went over every possible problem with my surgery. I talked to his staff and they all respected him highly, not because he required the respect, but, rather, because he earned it. He was the best by all standards, probably in the entire state of California. I could accept this with no problem. I met a humble man who did not treat any of his patients as if he were superior. I learned a whole lot about this man, an excellent surgeon. He was different. He was kind and gentle and he was different. He is unusual for one who obtained such a recognition. He is the very best. There is none better and there is no reason to look futher for better. He believes in no pain. There was so little. He is special and rare as a person and definitely as a surgeon. Aftercare is very important to him. The only negative is he comes in to see you in the hospital at 2 am. It is meaningless. He has love in his heart.

I liked him right from the first time I heard him speak at an open meeting. Called the office the next day and was on my way. THe staff is great, will answer all questions. There is also a support group meeting twice a month I have been going for the last 6 months have really learned a lot. Have my surgery on 3/21/03. So far so good I will let you know after the surgery.

I have not actual scheduled my surgery, you don't have a proper category for where I am at. I have been approved by my insurance and have started the pre-op testing, and plan to have my surgery in June 2003 (I will probably be ready for surgery in February, but plan to wait). I have only met with the Nurse Practioner as yet. I found the staff and the Nurse Practioner to be very professional, friendly, and attentive. The doctor I selected is Dr. Stanley Klein in Torrance, California. He has his own web page - kleintyme.com on WLS. He also has monthly support group meetings of which I plan to attend prior to my surgery and after my surgery. I have met a couple of people who have had WLS with Dr. Klein and they can do nothing but rave about the whole experience.

I will add more here later.

Before my consult with Dr.Klein I already thought the moon and the stars about him. Beacuse I use to work at a hospital that he operated at,and also because one of my dearest friends chose him for her wls. He is very passionate about his work, he truly is in this to help us. His office staff is GREAT. I'm not sure of exactly how many patients that they have but eveytime I call they know exactly who I'am just by me giving them my first name, and when you go into the office they make you feel extremely comfortable . I don't think I would change surgeons for all the tea in China I'am 100% sure that I chose the right one.Dr.Klein is very informative, and will gladly answer and explain any and all questions that you might have for him. He explains in just the right way so you don't walk out of the office wondering what the heck have you gotten yourself into.

My first impression was that he is too good to be true.

Over time I have come to completely trust and believe in his genuineness.

Dr. Klein has a very kind and caring office staff, as far as ,his nurses go. One nameless office staff is very fake and rude. You will know when you work with her!

Future patients should know that they will not meet him until the end of the pre-op testing is done. Trust their program it works.

Aftercare is a hugh deal with this program, there are classes, support groups, tests, and lectures to attend to know just what to do.

The risks of surgery are addressed very matter of fact like.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Klein as a real, honest, caring human being. He seems to truelly understand the rejection from society an over weight individual can experience. Surgical competence is most the valuable quality to posses.

Dr. Klein is dedicated to helping the overweight person. His staff is dedicated to that mission. Dr. Klein's program does have a structued program for follow up and support groups.

When I met with him to discuss my surgical options, he was very thorough in explaning both procedures he does (RNY & BPD). His use of diagrams and charts helped me to better understand the differences. He has a funny (kind of goofy) personality, but is very straight-forward on conversation. He frequently attends his patients' bi-monthly support group which is run by the PhD associated with his practice, Gaye Andrews, and is happy to answer pre-op and post-op questions.

I met Dr. Klein by accident. He had his office in the building I was working and one of the ladies from his staff use to talk to me. one day she offered me a video to watch. I contimplated surgery for a while, but was to afraid. Not only does he have a private practice, but he has been at Harbor UCLA medical center for over 25 years. I had met him briefly to discuss what tests I would need to proceed. While in the process of testing over the course of 5 months, I had a gallbladder attack and took my self to the emergency room at Harbor. When I knew I had to have surgery, I asked to see him or his staff. they came to see me and told me that they would speak to Dr. Klein regarding doing all at once. That horrible, painful day changed my life forever. I wasnt fully prepared for what was to come, but I managed to get through with the help of his staff at his private office. He invited me to be part of his support group even though I didnt have the surgery through that office. His staff has bent over backwards for me over the past 3 years as well as he has. This angel of a man was sent to me from god. He has been my biggest cheerleader. He is kind, caring, supportive and funny. He and his staff are up on all health issues and are always available to answer any questions. If I had to do over, I would do it the same way with the same team of people. I am very lucky.
