I met Dr. Michael Wood on Nov. 2, 2005.
I had researched several surgeons and decided on him.
He has 25 years experience as a surgeon and has around 10+ years experience with Bariatric surgery.
His practice is devoted to Bariatric surgery.
I was impressed with my surgical consultant. He provided facts and stressed that WLS is only a tool,
but his success as a surgeon is linked to his patient's success.
He informed me of possible complications (I had already done my homework).
I am glad that I chose him to perform my surgery.

Dr. Wood is very personable and very knowlegeable. He also has a great since of humor and compassion. I found his staff to be very professional and knowlegeable. I had no issues getting my questions answered. Future patients should know that Dr. Wood is very serious about his profession. This is his exclusive profession and he stays on top of current information related to WLS and procedures. The aftercare program is very structured. There is a dietician and RN on staff. There are regular support group meetings. I give Doctor Wood an A+. My surgery and recovery has been free of complications and pain.
Dr. Michael Wood performed my surgery. He is an excellent surgeon. His comment during the interview was "I love to perform surgery" and he was correct. His follow-up was really bad and the staff, being new to all of this, was unsure of follow-up. It took a few years and quite a few changes of personnel, but they are now addressing issues that should have been addressed early on for post-ops.
My stay at Harper Hospital was a very positive one. The staff was very professional for the most part and the care was excellent.
Dr. Wood's "bed-side" manner and concern are very apparent. He will take the time to answer all questions and even take the time to "scold" if something is not going correctly on the patient's part. I would recommend him highly.
I want to say that Dr. Wood is one of the Sr. Dr.'s at the Cori center in Warren. I listed him until my surgeon and DR. can be added. I met Dr. Wood in the Hospital and he was very professional and kind, I thank him for his personal visit...it meant alot. But i would like to say that i am truly thankful to Dr. Jamokay Taylor M.D. for the wonderful job he did with me on Aug 23, 2005. he is 10 years my younger but a very professional and Comptent, educated, gentle,he even has a sense of humor...lol! I can see a very long and sucessful future for him in bariactric surgery. he didnt even use staples in open bariatric surgery closure, i got disolving sutures with the tape, very nice and clean.
Thank you DR. Taylor!
Dr. Taylor gets a 5-STAR rating from me. He was personal with me from the start from pre-op thru post-op he does stress the rules after sugery and after care support. and provides all the information one needs to attain it. I will update this as time goes by...bing i am just 10days post-op at this writting.

I have met with several doctors these past weeks trying to find some where I feel safe and where I'd be in the best hands. I have seen pretty much all the surgeons in the south eastern Michigan area. I'm going to stay with the Cori center and I'm going to use Dr Wood. I felt the most comfortible with him.

Dr. Wood is a very kind and helpful man. My scar looks beautiful so far. Very thin. If anyone is having the surgery, please consult with him. He is, by far, the greatest bariatric surgeon.
My first impressions of Dr.Woods was good he had a siminar with everyone who had and appointment that day and described throughly what each different type of surgery was and how the worked, then each patient met with him privatley and he was very kind in asking pretty personal questions like what you want your goal weight to be and those kind oif thigs.
