Advanced Laparoscopic Associates Bariatric Center

I liked Dr. Ewing from the beginning %100 percent he had a sarcastic sense of humor - which I appreciated - he performed a wonderful surgery...but I chose to not see him anymore after an EMT called him when I was being rushed to the hospital and he said he didn't know who I was - which upset me...I still give him much credit for taking a 625lb patient - and you know I had my surgery 04/5/07 - and now I'm 268lbs and I'm 21 and now looking forward to plastic surgery. I've lost 357lbs and that is in a huge part in thanks to Mr. Ewing just wish the situation of him telling the EMT's and doctors at the hospital that he did not know who I was never happenned....

Dr Ewing was great. Dealing with the staff in the office was great and they guided me through the steps I needed since I completed the diet and pysch. evaluation, and nutritionist with my own physician because of the distance away Dr. Ewing's office. Everything went smooth and the surgery was a success. I am 11 days out of surgery and I am down 25lbs. I am following all of their directions and so far so good...

Busy office sometimes the wait is a little long but I think that also has a lot to do with how successful they (the group) are. Dr. Ewing and his associates came highly recommended from previous patients and I would recommend his (them)as well.

First impression of my surgeon was he didn't push you into anything and explained the different types of surgeries and complications along with after care and how his office always has somebody on staff to answer questions. I chose lap-band it is working very for me i lost 43 lbs so far surgery was 8-22-08 today 12-26-08

I went to a seminar at HUMC where all three doctors of Advanced Laproscopic Associates spoke. For some reason, Dr Trivedi seemed like the right doctor for me. After meeting him a week later on a one on one meeting, I felt very at ease with him. I had researched several other doctors and was impressed with ALA's staff and especially Dr. Trivedi. I also liked their follow-up program and it was a bonus that their office was only 10 min from me.

I will update this as I go through the process.

I first Impression of Dr.Trivedi was that he was kind,patient and informative.He made me feel very comfortable;his staff was helpful.rnThere is nothing that I can say other than He's a good guy and bedside manner is great.rnI like the aftercare program someone is always to guide you.

I chose Dr. Ewing to do my Lap RNY surgery. I had the initial meeting in his office and we talked about the surgery. He was very open to questions and my concerns. rnrnI had surgery on 8/28. During the surgery it was discovered that I had an abnormal torso and they could not staple. The had to stitch everything by hand. The surgery ended up taking about 5 hours!!! rnrnDr. Ewing and his staff were great. They took good care of me. The nurses at the bariatric unit were wonderful. I ended up in the hospital for 5 days, so I really spent enough time there to know! rnrnrn

I'm so happy so far...he made it so easy for me and I couldnt pick a better surgeon than him. I love the staff as well!!

Today I met Dr Hans Schmidt for my consultation appointment. He is a very geniune and true person. He is upfront, and when I got there, although there was a wait, he was on a call fighting for other insurances to be as good as mine, Oxford. So, any doctor that will fight with insurances is good in my book. rnrnHe made me feel comfortable, he would spend as much time as you wanted to go over it, and he was a positive person. rnrnI got my date, only 18 days away - and i'm SOOO excited. rnrn(Also - staff in his office are friendly and nice).rnrn09/02/08: Dr Schmidt gave me a new lease on life. What these doctors do, it's amazing. It's even more amazing how I feel. I have more self confidence and belief in myself. I'm so lucky to have gone through this experience. Thank you so much Dr Schmidt. Can't wait to weigh in with you in Sept again.

My first impressions was positive. He seems very caring. He was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. rHe was amazing, patient and caring. I would highly recommend him in the future. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. His assistant came to see me while I was in the hospital and he was also very kind and caring. I was thrilled with my choice.

I had the lap band surgery done in Aug 2008 ad am now scheduled for the revision on Nov 8, 2011. While the band worked well for awhile I am not at the weight I would like to be at. It is not as effective for me. There was no doubt in my mind about coming back to Dr. Ewing for this procedure. He is amazing.

4/4/2008rnSo far everything is great. Dr Hans and His staff have been wonderful and understanding. He really helped me and understood my need for this surgery and helped me get a date as soon as possible. My first Post-op appointment is next week. I will update then...rn4/12/2008rnDoing really good... On Phase 2 - Mushy/Watery/Puree foods. So Far down 19 pounds and feeling motivated. Had my Post-Op Appointment on Thursday and Everything is great!! The Dr's staff is great and He is also fantastic. Will be seeing him in 5 Weeks for my first FILL!! rn5/15/2008rnDoing great. Had to get a fill at 5 weeks because I was eating and getting hungry fast and too soon after eating. Doc and staff is great and understanding. Wedding coming up in less than 2 months. I was told to enjoy myself!! LOLrn8/22/2008rnNext Dr's appt is 9/3. Was on my honeymoon. Just got back. Eating normal not alot and just getting a little hungry sooner than I would like. Down 52 pounds. Hooray!!
