I called for my intial consultation and was told I could come in 1 week later, 11/5/01. I got in so quickly because there was a cancellation. The doctor answered all of our questions. He took his time and was very couteous. The staff was helpful but a little difficult for me to understand them because of their accents.

Well, my first visit went well, although I left the office more scared then ever. I realized that he was just telling me like it is. He does give you the option of thinking about is this what you really want to do, and if so then ok lets get started. I've only heard good things about Dr. T also he has a wonderful assistant name Kathy, oh my god, I never knew a person could be pleasant all the time.

my dr sees very nice and very itelagent i felt i was in very good hands and he came extremely highly reccamended.

i am finding i still like him although i have heard things about his aftercare that i am not liking.

the staff was great i had no problems they were very accomadating to me although i heard from others that they had problems with miscommunications

no comment

be willing to wait for appointments very long waiting list he is very busy
he really needs to work on after care he only requires a 3 week visit after the 1 week post op i think is should be sooner and definetly more nutrition counciling.

overall i rate him as a top surgeon but needs better aftercare

both are needed especially with this type of surgery it is essential to have a good bed side manner .

I went to his support group on 10/15/01. I was very impressed with his knowledge, his gentleness, his straight-forwardness and the fact that he does other surgeries - he's not a bariatric surgery factory. He also has a very intense post-op care plan which I really liked. I have my first consult schedule now for 12/13/01.

When I met Dr. Schmidt, he was late for my appointment. But he took the time to talk to me and didn't rush me out of his office. His staff is very professional, but looks like they could use a larger office. It's a very long waiting period to get a consultation for Dr. Schmidt. The wait time is atleast six months. But he seems to be worth it. He discussed the surgery in detail and recovery time. What to expect one day, one week, one month and one year from now. He gives a detailed account of what to expect in a information packet, so you will be able to refer back to any questions you might think of. He gave me all of the benefits and risks up front. I think he's a pretty great doctor.

He came highly recommended from two other
patients who are very satisfied.

He was kind & sincere. He made me feel more comfortable with making this decision.

I'll let you know more as I go along!

10/25/01 - Well...I'm 3+ days post op and
HOME!!! HOORAY

Hans Schmidt is the most competent surgeon around. He kept his promise of a Lap...
was incredibly patient with questions and concerns...

He's the one you want!

I first called the Dr.s office back in July 10th and got an August 16 consultation date. I met with Dr. Schmidt and was told I would have to wait till October 30th. So I am about 2 weeks away form surgery, all my pre-op testing is done and I am getting ready to take on that life changing experience, my family is supportive. I hope all goes well and I will be posting more after my surgery.

Dr. Trivedi is on my insurance so I recently had a consult with him. The office staff was great. Kathy was very nice.
Unfortunately, I was disenheartened after talking to Dr. Trivedi. I found his Doom and Gloom explanation of the possible complications to be over the top. He could not say anything positive. He is starting an aftercare group. I am going to switch to Dr. Carasquilla/English and meet with that office before I give up the idea of the surgery. As an RN, I am aware of the importance of informed consent but it must also be tempered with the positive aspects of the surgery, which it was not. THis is my opinion only from my experiences only and I did also speak with some of his post op patients who were thrilled with his care and recommended him highly. For me...it just was not a match.

He was very professional and explains the surgery in great detail.

My impression hasnt changed.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

I like all the things about him.

He is quite blunt.

Yes, he makes sure you have a dietian and that his staff prepares you with info packets.

Yes, he addresses and emphasises them.

Awesome.

All.
