Dr. Fang is very well spoken. I found him to be very professional. He didn't race through our meeting and he took the time to answer the questions I asked. Make sure you bring your questions written down to your appointment. It is so easy to forget the little things. Bring a tape recorder also to record his responses. I've learned that doctors tend to be very much to the point and you may need to reference back to his answers. They talk and think fast, and it is for the best!rnrnThe staff that I initially was introduced to were all very caring and took the time to help. The department that submits your information to your insurance company is seriously lacking. They only have one woman working it and I think she just really needs help with the burden. It set me back on my surgery date quite a bit but after speaking with the office manager everything was completely worked out and she made everything run smooth. My advice! Take care of your medical information. Go directly to your insurance company and ask exactly what they are requiring. Do not let the surgeon's office send out the information until it is complete. Ask to be notified before anything is sent off to your insurance company and keep your fingers crossed because once you have been denied by your insurance company, Dr. Fang's office will not resubmit anything more to them in your favor. \"It gets to messy and we just don't do it\" was the comment I received from the submitting department. Thank the stars for Jennifer!rnrn rnrn
I did not have a good experince however, I do not wish to share. I am sure that my circumstances are totally different from anyone elses. Lots of people in waiting area had nice things to say. :)rn
Dr. Fang is a very quiet man. I knew of him because he also did surgery on my sister a year before I had mine. He answers all questions and doesn't rush.rnrnHis staff is very helpful and patient.rnrnThere's really nothing I don't like about him.rnrnAftercare is a wonderful program at St. Luke's Hospital. There are support groups meeting once a month and always someone you can call with any question. rnrnHe told me all the risks and benefits.rnrnI would refer anyone to him for this surgery.rnrnHis surgical competence does exceed his bedside manner, due to his quietness.rn
I cannot think of enough adjectives to praise Dr. Fang. He performed a Roux-En-Y on me nearly 2 years ago and removed my gall bladder last year. He also operated on my mother last year. I had thoroughly research all possible surgeons I could use under my insurance and chose him. He is not only brilliant and competent, he is also very patient and kind. (Kind of cute in his own way, too.) I know he has done high risk cases that other surgeons would not agree to do.rnrnI would very highly recommend Dr. Fang.
My first impression was that he seemed warm adn sensitive and his hands looked nice and steady. He smelled relly nice and he is good looking. He explained everything to me. The second time around after the first process did not go through he seemed stand offish but I heard that he gets too busy, but still; everything else being the same qualities I saw before.rnrnOffice staff is friendly but there were some incidents of papers being lost in the shuffle which cost me the qualification the first time around--then, it is possible it was the insurance companies problem, still a communication breakdown ruined things for me. This second time around I kept all papers myself and handed them in person to my insurer. These people work very hard and return calls in a timly manner and are resourceful. I would just recommend that you followup on every item and document everything--I can't stress this enough. rnrnBridges has a great seminar and ABC classes to go to and after aporoval there are support groups and a pre-op class which I am looking forward to going to as soon as I hear of my approval.rnrnDr. Fang explained the benefits and risks to surgery and I am sure if I wanted more details he would offer them to me but I pretty much researched everything I could before I saw him sio there was little need for him to spell everything out. rnrnI have heard nothing but great things about his surgery performance and bedside manner adn I look forward to having him bring me over to the other side of the rainbow. I feel very good about him. He is a great man and a fabulous doctor.rnrn
have a lot of problems getting the office to submit the right information, and complete information, to my insurance. had they done it correctly I would have been approved. I found this out when I had to go to court after my second appeal.rnrnI also got inaccurate answers and a pass the buck attitude when it came to jumping through insurance company hoops. It can't ALWAYS be the insurance companies fault. After a while, you get the feeling that the office help dosen't seem to want to take ANY of the responsibility for misinformation.rnrnif you ask me, they must have no worries about brining in enough patients. Otherwise they would be more thorough. Plan on looking out for your own best interests.rnrnDr. fang seems real nice though. He seems competent.
Dr Fang seems very nice and was willing to answer all my questions. He was a bit distracted but I was his last appointment for the day. So, far I have had a positive experience with him and his staff. His office and the hospital is quite run down but they are moving to a different building the middle of March. rnrnWe didn't really talk much about their aftercare program but I didn't specifically ask about it either. I've read so much on the boards here and figured it would be discussed in further detail at the \"teaching day\" and ABC classes. rnrnAfter deciding to find a new surgeon (didn't want to wait 4 more months for surgery with Dr Blackstone), I decided on Dr Fang based on the wonderful feedback I read from his former patients. It's really important to me that my doctor not only be competent but also have a good bedside manor. I believe from what I read that Dr Fang has both qualities. rnrnrn
Unlike most people I was unable to choose which Dr. and hospital I wanted for the surgery. However, my insurance company made a wonderful decision in regards to my surgeon. Dr. Daniel Fang is a very personable, experienced, informative Dr. He has an excellent bed side manner and makes you feel most at ease when you see him! I am glad that my insurance company chose him and I look forward to my next visits with him as I continue to lose weight.
my first impression of dr fang was he was a very concerned surgeon and very straight to the point. after talking with him he bacame easier to talk to and more understanding. his office staff was very nice and informative though i always worry about everything so im sure you could call me pro active.theres really not anything that i can say that i dont like about him. the program after surgery seems to be a great one. I would give him a high rating over all.
