Hi Jeremy- I'm sorry that it's taking so long to get in to see your surgeon. I was in the same boat and can understand your frustration. It took me 6 months to get an appointment with the surgeon, then a YEAR after that before they could do the surgery :-( . After the initial meeting with the surgeon, when he told me it'd be about a year before he could do it, I just wanted to die. I even had to try antidepressants but they made me loopy. Most insurances require a 6 month supervised diet plan (usually seeing a nutritionist) so if you haven't already done that, it's a good idea to get started. Also, if you have a sympathetic PCP and if s/he could call the surgeon and explain your situation, you may be able to be seen sooner. Good Luck in your journey, Jeremy, I will pray for you :-) . Mea

Jeremy, Hang in there, everything happens for a reason and by the end of the month or early next you will know why. This is a prediction--holler at me later if I am wrong, but I've been right-on lately. (I do readings). Anyway, my surgery was delayed due to a hospital dilly dallying taking their old time getting specialized laproscopic equipment. My insurance was approved in January, my doctor had approval to do surgery there in April, and I wasn't operated on till July. I was the 2nd one he did at that hospital. The point is, as I reflect back, it would not have worked out good for me if I had my surgery on the originally planned date--May 5. Everything went perfectly when it was supposed to happen. Good luck.

Hi Jeremy, I will pray to God for you, that He may enter the heart of your surgeon, and allow him to find a way to take your case sooner rather than later. Don't give up! All things are possible with God! Take care.

Hey Jeremy, You are so young to be having to deal with this, I am sorry in that regards. BUT you have a whole bunch of support here on this web site, hope you stay with us for a long time. As far as your situation goes, what I did when I had to wait a long time for an appt. was to call 1 time a week (each and every week) and ask if anyone had cancelled. That way you are fresh on their minds, and you can be on a first name basis with the appt. girl, so if a patient cancels she will remember oh yeah I should call Jeremy he will probably take that cancelled appt. I pray that you get seen asap, and get the ball rolling on this process. And yes the waiting is definitely the worst part of this whole ordeal.... God bless ya, and thinking of you, Donna
