Maris- you have been so great on the 20s board! This decision is all yours to make and I know you'll make the best choice for you! My grandmother didn't like me having the surgery, but after I educated her on the surgery and why I was having it... she is dealing better. I'll be three months post op on April 6 and she actually said I was looking good the other day! I am praying for you!!!!
The decision is ultimately yours. All those people who are tearing you donw have no idea what we as big people go through on a simple day. You have to make this decision with yourself. All the support you need you can find right here on this site. All these people are fabulous and can provide you with a lot of love.
I have chosen not to tell my family or my husbands family until after the fact, then they can say what they want.
Decisions are all yours when it comes to you. Does your family do it out of fear of the unknown. Maybe you could take them to an informational seminar and let them get educated on the benefits of having WLS.
I hope all turns out well for you. This big decision is stressful enough without having family being unsupportive. Be strong!
Maris, First of all congrats on taking the steps needed to start making good choices for yourself. Its hard but you need to step out and take the lead in your life and put what other people say on the back burner. Live for you for a while.. I know easier said than done huh? Just know that there are a swarm of people out here that are cheering for you. I am sending you all my good toughts and prayers. you are going to do great.
(((HUGS)))
