I am on my way...
Still waiting...

Well, one day soon (maybe) I will have the surgery...I have a big yard sale planned for August 25 to help with the fee - It is driving me CRAZY ! Joel is now job hunting (which is awesome since he was facing disability !) and I know as good as he cooks, it won't be too long...
We just got back from the beach and Joel's energy level has increased, I could barely keep up !! I hope to have the pictures up soon, a week in paradise goes way too quick...
It is incredible, everywhere we go there is someone knows someone else who has had weight loss surgery. It is amazing to hear all the different stories and getting even more realization that Dr. Bour is the best...
Patience is a virtue!

Well it is so nice to be have Joel back to normal...his energy is returning more and more everyday, and shrinking even quicker!! He has lost 75 lbs so far as of Monday night! It has blown our minds!! I know his set back was part of it, but whoa!
I am so ready for the surgery...my birthday is getting close and I keep telling everyone "don't buy me anything, please contribute to the surgery fund" - I hope that it will jump start the beginning of my journey!
Life at a hospital 24/7 for almost a week
May 25, 2007
After a little over a week at home, they admitted Joel back into the hospital again...he has had a fever and apparently a leak at some point, now the fluid pocket is infected.
Everyone is so nice there, even though Joel feels like a human pin cushion. I feel confident that he will get great care, after all we do have the best surgeon!
Joel has had no liquids by mouth for 3 1/2 days...it is horrible to see him like that...but I know it is required, it is just hard convincing him that this is helping the situation. :( It has taken a long time for the infection to start draining, whew it is horrible!!
Well, it is Friday and Dr. Bour came in very early before I came to work and told us that they would take out hid IV's today!! WOOHOOO!! He can start the phase 1 diet again, he wasn't thrilled about that but...better than nothin' at all- Hopefully we will go home Saturday or Sunday...
Our support friends are soooo encouraging and helpful! It makes Joel smile everytime I tell him someone is thinking about him and praying!
We are so blessed!!
