Hi Dan. I was so happy to read that you were approved for a revision. I pray that you get yourself a good surgeon and sue the pants off the one that has caused you so much misery and time lost with your family! Good thoughts going out to you today.

Dan, I just read your post and wanted to validate your feelings. I would be just as angry to find out, one year later, that my surgery didn't really "exist." I pray that God will give you guidance in terms of future medical care and any legal needs. I suppose what I would do from here is ask my GP for a copy of those upper GI pictures/results and go back to my original surgeon, strongly suggesting that since something seemed to go wrong, surely he wishes to make it right by performing the surgery on you again for no additional charge? Bravo to you, by the way, that you are even willing to undergo the procedure again.

Dan, so sorry to hear of your dilemma. The following is a copy of my hospital review of BTC in Ypsilanti MI (you can find lots more on the hospital review area)… I’m a nurse and my expectations of health care facilities and personnel may tend to be more critical, but I had my surgery at BTC Sept.01, and I was truly impressed with every aspect of the whole experience. Pre op was smooth for me and the office and insurance people were efficient and always very accommodating. The nursing, dietary, respiratory, and lab staff was excellent. Several of the nurses had also had the procedure done and knew exactly what we were going through, as well as what to expect immediately post op. The facility is spotless, the gowns are adequate, and when you 1st get to your room there is a flower for you on your bedside table =) They provide a wonderful package full of toiletries, and I was given a pair of tongs for personal hygiene that worked great. I think because every patient there has had the same procedure, everyone seems to be able to commiserate together. Walking the halls you hear encouragement from everybody. Surgery is hard no matter where you are, but I was impressed with my doc (Batay). (I appreciated not having to wake up to an NG tube down my throat). They are extremely knowledgeable and thorough with your post op care as well. I remember I was so astonished to get a call from my nutritionist telling me I could progress to the next stage in my eating, and to ask if I was having any problems or questions. All in all I’d say they met all of my expectations …and more. ~~Hope this helps. Keep us posted =)

DAN: I can't believe how angry I would be if this happened to me. You keep looking for a lawyer, you'll find one. And don't give up, the the loosing side is waiting for you. I'll be keeping good thoughts for you. Mycki

Dan I am so sorry your surgery is not working for you. I read your profile page and you have some very good thoughts on there. I hope another dr can help you out and maybe you won't have to have another surgery. Hope your dreams comes true, just don't give up the fight, you will win the battle soon.

OMG!!! I can't believe those results! Like you said, at least now you know why you didn't lose. When you had the leak test after surgery, was everything fine a year ago? That is TOO strange!!! It's almost like surgery was never done - how could that happen? I can only imagine your frustration. You are in my prayers!

Dan, I just wanted to let you know you are in my prayers. I read your profile and I was encouraged by your list. I'm a pre-op, so I don't have and surgery-related advice, but I want you to be encouraged. You and your wife will have that slide presentation at church!

Hi Dan. It certainly sounds like something is wrong. I hope your doctor finds out what the problem is. My doctor would not agree to operate unless I signed that I would follow his rules EXACTLY and eat only what he told me when he told me. I am also going to have a hard time not drinking when I eat. I pray I am strong enough to follow the rules. Seems things come harder for some of us. Please let us knwo what your doctor finds.
