I certainly didn't write the following poem, but it feels very appropriate at this moment, so I thought I'd share it. Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?” The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.” Please God, keep carrying John until he has the strength to walk on his own once again. I have faith that John will pull through with your loving help.

Man on a Mission His work is not done, He is just getting started. He's a man on a mission, and oh so big hearted. There's still plenty of waves to surf, and walk through miles of sand. He's a man on a mission, to always lend a helping hand. A middle school teacher a jokester, a singer, He's a man on a mission His poems still linger. A fighter, A winner, to strive for good health. A man on a mission, knows that's more important than wealth. He still needs to fly Southwest to the bay, A man on a mission, will surely find a way. In his 501 button fly jeans I can see him now, A man on a mission Hiking Pacific Crest Trail somehow. So God Please hear my prayers If there is a will I know only you can find a way, Cause this man John Ott is on a mission He has so much here left to say. John don't quite the fight now your almost there! You are one strong fighter I just know you've got some left in you. Dear John and family please know your in my prayers... Dana Cool
