I really liked her overall. She was very understanding and knoweledgeable about her field. I really learned alot of coping skills and ways to deal with the surgery before and after.
Dr. Applegate only counsels with people interested in WLS. She really knows her stuff. She is understanding, yet direct and to the point. Just a great doctor.
Dr. Applegate does a wonderful job in assessing whether or not a patient can handle the changes of wls post-operatively. She had great suggestions to cope with emotional changes.
Ms. Applegate came across as knowledgeable, but her "bedside manner" still needs a little polish. She seems very interested in helping obese patients in particular, I just think she needs to understand that the questionaire doesn't allow for leeway in responses, so there's no way to get a true picture of who I am. I was nervous and had a hard time getting across to her that the questions were sometimes unclear and I may have answered in a way that I shouldn't have. I think she shouldn't have placed such an emphasis on the questionaire and listened more to me. However, that comes with experience and she will attain that in time. Overall I was very pleased with my experience.
