Adam did a fantastic job on my band....He is so compassionate, He also had to fix a very big Hiatal hernia and that is why I am still in pain today, but looking forward to my follow up date.

Dr, Adam Glasgow performed my lapband surgery, but he has been present at just about every step of the way. He spoke at the seminar in a clear, concise enjoyable, well-prepared talk, inviting questions from all. He also had an experienced lapband patient present for the group to answer questions.

My initial meeting with him included my husband. Dr. Glasgow was very enthusiatic and encouraging with hand-on models of the device and other good graphic teaching aids.He was also forthcoming with drawbacks, complications, etc. His manner as usual was one of genuine interest and concern.

The pre-op schedule was rigorous with visits to the nutritionist in his office, a psychological evaluation, recommendation from my primary care physician emphasizing cardiac, pulmonary, diabetic status as well as fitess for general anesthesia and sleep studies. There was pre-op lab work and anesthesiology visit. Each part of the pre-op evaluation was geared to make the surgery safer with better outcomes/
Just before surgery I had a visit with Dr. Glasgow to answer last minute questions and support me through pre-op liquid diet.
The operative procedure went very smoothly I am told by many present lasting about 45 minutes.
Although I had been given a prescription for pain medication I did not have to use it. My post-op course couldn't have been smoother although Dr. Glasgow insisted that I call him at any time if I had concerns.
In the hospital overnight stay I was also visited by Jennifer Larravee , NP, who gave much good info about post-op care and was genuinely concerned when I thought I had lost my cell phone!
She is one of several professional nurses that work in the Glasgow practice.

The next time I saw Dr. Glasgow was two weeks later when he took out my staples and advised and
encouraged me

Now I am happily losing weight and attending follow-up visits which I look forward to.
I have been see a couple time by Dr. Arthur Glasgow, Adam's father, who is equally personable and knowledgeable but will sadly be retiring in March '11,

Dr. Adam Glasgow's involvement will continue in follow-up, but his care doesn't stop there. He provides for an individual mentor for each patient and leads the biweekly support group, which has built a therapeutic group that offers mutual support.

The office staff is efficient and knew me by name by the third visit. They managed to get all the insurances necessary in a timely fashion. They are also very pleasant. The appointments were always on-time and relaxed

I am very glad that I chose Dr. Glasgow's weight loss surgery practice in Norwood, MA. This is one of the very few times in my many years that I have felt confident in my caregiver and completely satisfied with every aspect of the process.......and I'm losing weight finally in a safe and pleasant manner with a competent team!

Dr. Adam Glasgow is great! He is a skilled surgeon who genuinely cares for and about his LapBand patients (more than 600 of them in 2010). His growing practice is a partnership with his Dad, Arthur Glasgow. They're both skilled surgeons and they've created a great team which includes the two surgeons, a physician's assistant, a nutritionist, a psychologist, two nurses, and fabulous office staff and surgical coordinator. They also have the xray equipment right there to do barium swallows! They provide great aftercare too. They act as your partners and teammates in your weight loss journey.
