Question:
Does anyone use Metamucil Fiber Wafers?

I was told by my doctor (not my surgeon) to increase my fiber intake and he told me that Benefiber the supplement I was taking is not good enough and Metamucil was. I gagged on the drink (metamucil powder and water) but I found the new fiber wafers and the Dr said they are just as good. However, on the label it says that they could swell if not taken with an adequate amount of water. Yikes! Does this mean that since I can't drink 8 ounce of water as they recommend at once that this could swell in my pouch (and probably make me sick) before I can finish all the water? I've recently tried the Metamucil wafers. Not bad. Anyway, I never drink an entire 8 oz of water at one time. I just can't. However, I've had no problems as long as I keep sipping on as much water as I can. I am 22 months post op RNY. Good luck.
