first post in several years

I haven't posted since November 2012, 14 months post surgery. Now it is almost 3 years since surgery and I'm still incredibly happy with my decision to have the surgery and the results. I have lost 70 pounds and continue to stay at that 70 lbs. weight loss. My health has improved greatly.....blood pressure is low, off cholesterol medication, and glucose levels are normal. This was probably one of the best things I ever did for myself.
Still plugging away

I haven't posted in well over a month, but thought I should. I'm down another 3 lbs. this month so I'm still plugging away and losing slowly but surely. I feel wonderful and it is fun when I see people who haven't seen me in a long time.....they always give me such a shocked look and ask with this shocked voice how much weight have you lost.....and I love it!!!!
I am happy and healthy and I'm loving life.
Into the 60's ..... OH MY

As I said in my post the other day, yesterday was my one year anniversary, which was huge, so to see that "6" this morning was another huge milestone.
The way my weight loss has gone this past year, I will flucuate at this low weight by a pound or two for about a month and then have a substantial drop, so I'll probably stay in the 160's for a while, which just seems to be my loss pattern. As frustrating as that can get at times, at least the numbers on the scale keep going down.
It's been a wonderful year and I'm ever so grateful that I had the opportunity to have this life saving surgery.
One year tomorrow

It's been a wonderful year of health and happiness.
Was so surprised by the weight drop

I've had a super stressful couple of weeks at work and was not feeling particularly good about hoping on the scale this morning....fearing that the stress would have been slowing me down even more. Plus, I wasn't feeling as though I was losing. Well, the Universe works in mysterious ways.....I was down six pounds in 12 days. I almost fell off of the scale.
The past two weekends I have done loads of yardwork and I think I get a great workout from that. And, on Monday I was at Curves, and that always helps burn a couple of hundred calories. So, I think the exercise may have had a lot to do with the sudden drop. Before I might only drop a couple of pounds in a month and to lose 6 in two weeks is just incredible to me.
So, I'm still stressing about work, but I'm happy with the weight loss and that means a lot.
Right onTrack

So, once again, I can't say how happy I am that I had this surgery.....it has changed my life in such a good way.

As any of you know, who have read my previous blogs, my weight loss is very slow compared to many. I think this has a lot to do with my age and having less than 100 lbs. to lose. But I celebrate each pound gone and feel so happy that it continues to come off. I am healthier and feel better than I have in years.
This surgery has been a life saver/restorer and I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to experience it.
Finally!!!

I'm down another size in pants which is wonderful, I can stand up to iron and cook now and I've actually lost half a shoe size.
I just have to be so vigilant about getting all my water every day, that seems to make such a difference. Just another 40 to go to meet the doc's goal and another 50 to meet my goal.....so I'm half way there.
LIFE IS GOOD.
Water works

Still such a slow go....

As my daughter always said this surgery is not a magic bullet.....I have to work at this just like I had to diet and exercise before the surgery to lose weight. The best part is I don't get as hungry now and don't crave sweets like in the past.
So, I am hoping I'll be back on here in the very near future celebrating 50 lbs. gone forever.
