I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author) FROM MY HEART TO YOU~*~Hugs~*~

Mary, regarding your post about not losing weight in the past month: the menu you described is pretty high in refined carbohydrates. Carbs are processed differently by our bodies than proteins and fats are. They cause your insulin to go up, and for your body to prefer to burn the easy carb fuel. Protein processing actually does the opposite--kicking in a response to burn stored fat. (The processing of fats has no influence on this, by the way.) My advice to you is to get away from the refined carbs (bagels, potatoes, chips, etc.). Eat your protein first, and then veggies, fruits and whole grains. Start your day with protein (an egg, cheese, rolled up lunch meat, anything that's protein-based). Stay away from refined carbs (most of your white foods--anything made with white flour or sugar, potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, sweets, starchy vegetables). It's hard to "detox" from refined carbs, but stay away from them for three full days, and the cravings will lessen. You didn't mention how much water and exercise you get in. Those are important, too. You can get back on track to lose weight, but you have to give up the refined carbs (or at least more severely limit them). Best wishes to you.

Mary, why are you beating yourself up? Stop that. You are making yourself miserble. Think positive remember wls is just a tool to help you loss. You have to do your part big time to see results. plus we all have those days, weeks, months were our loss isn't much of nothing. I've been there and done that. and believe me it won't be my last. Hide the scale. I brought 2 and I decided to not to weigh myself often. because it do get depressing. Im very happy with my wl journey. everyday work towards approving what is lacking. Are you eating high protein meats, 64 oz water, and exercising? These are the three things I focus on. stay away from sugar, pasta, rice, bread. etc If I do eat a meal it's lean cuisine. I have been on a stand still for weeks, yes it's discouraging. but I don't get that bad to to say I shouldn't had done this. I hate the word plateaus. It seems like I'll loss then the plateau will come for weeks then I'll loss again then a plateau again. I don't get it at all, and have no idea what I'm doing wrong or right. Hang in there and stay focused. I even think I may go back to the basics to try to break this plateau. hang in there. Hugs

Mary - I'm five weeks out and I haven't lost anything in a week. I too wonder what is going on? How can I not be losing weight when my intake is so little. You aren't alone. It will come off. Patience - it is word that I need to learn. Hugs to you. Wendy
